This is a moderately large and orderly antique/collectible shop. There are some large items…read moredisplayed at the front (a baby grand piano and a number of old gas pumps), but otherwise, the shop is arranged in rows of booths. I was impressed that the booths were all well kept, not filled with junky stuff that someone would find at a flea market or garage sale. Well, maybe some of that stuff, but generally there was a better quality of items than I've seen at a lot of places. There seemed to be a fair amount of furniture and oil paintings. There were Coca-Cola and some Barbie items too. However, the number of pure antiques was relatively low. And some of the items were well worn, so maybe not quite collectible, but the pricing seemed to reflect the condition. Seems like a decent place to stop if you enjoy browsing through these places. They have some very unique old items such as comic books, shirts, candles, candy, records, toys, knives, swords, stuffed animals, signs, jewelry and postcards clothes. One of the most unique things I saw during my visit was a Vietnam-era Army Coat. There are tons of items here to browse. Because the store has independent vendor booths, you may able able to negotiate with the vendor to get a lower price on some items. This is a neat little spot that even though it is huge, it is clean and very well organized. You could spend a considerable amount of time going through here. I recommend checking this place out if you are in the area and looking for some odd or/or unique finds.

I've stopped at this service center off I74 several times now, and I want to call out how friendly…read morethe staff. This morning, we were greeted when we entered and thanked when we left. The restrooms were spotless. The store offers an amazing amount of supplies for truckers, campers and travelers. I saw everything from small refrigerators to a complete selection of electronic needs. I saw a typical assortment of convenience store roller food and fresh fruits and other grab and go meals. They carried beer, but I did not see locally crafted beer. There is a small McDonald's and Subways as part of the complex. They have showers for truckers. I can't talk to those, but the area looked clean. Outside, they have even built a fenced-in dog park. The park was small with benches for owners. I've never seen a service station with a dog park. The gas was priced average for the area. Parking and the pumps are easy to access. The traffic flow is pretty good. I'll keep stopping here.

I didn't take a shower, but I did use the restroom, and the cleanliness level of the restroom was just OK. Could have used a once-through. There are also two fast-food restaurants: McDonald's and Subway. I don't eat at either of these places, but do you know what I do eat? I eat banana pudding, and you can find some here in the grab-and-go refrigerated case inside the convenience store. It was OK (it ain't no Buc-ees banana pudding), but if you're in the mood for banana pudding, this one at Love's will do. You also find all kinds of things for your cars and trucks, cooking items, blankets, clothing, sandals, games, toys and lots of packaged snacks. Get some hot dogs (two for $5) in flavors like regular, smoked cheddar and jalapeño cheddar. Surprisingly, they offered cut fruit in an iced cooler by the cash register. Things like pineapple, grapes and watermelon in cups. I don't know why that surprises me, but I'm glad a gas station thinks it's important to highlight nutritious snacks.

They were really busy today as it is the day before Mother's Day. They carry a lot of gift items and hanging the flower baskets. On this day they also had cookies and lemonade out for Mother's Day, that was a nice touch. They also have all of the tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and whatever you need for your garden. This is a very nice Amish family run greenhouse.

According to a plaque near the front door the store opened in 1968 by Willie Suttman, who operated the store through 1992. Today, there's a positive energy in the store with colorful signs and neatly packed shelves. The meat is prepped on the premises by in-store butchers. I bought stuffed pork chops, steaks, smoked Polish sausage and Italian sausage. I was glad I brought a cooler with me. The staff was super friendly and packaged my purchases up for travel. I had the pork chops for dinner and they were delicious. I also picked up Easter candy and a few staples that I needed. I saw locally produced honey and Amish made egg noodles. Prices are reasonable. There is plenty of parking in their private lot. No public restrooms are available.

They have your kitchen needs as well, but keep in mind it's not a full blown culinary store by any means. I like The Dollar General Store in Eastbrook Plaza, but the State Street location is in shambles. They have basically a lot of things that you would need, (when the items are stocked). Tends to be a lot of new faces when I walk in there each time, so it seems as if they are struggling from a horrible turnover rate. When the store is actually stocked, it's pretty organized, but here lately, they can't keep help nor anything on the shelves. One of the workers are usually eating or not readily available. The floors are always disgusting and in need of a complete restoration. There are little pieces of the tiling missing, so you know it's time for a repair. I don't understand how corporate has allowed this to go on for so long? I remember 2 weeks ago when the store closed early and I knew it wasn't a holiday, but I later found out they ended up closing early because they were short of help. I believe that instead of continuing bad service, it's best to close the store down, remodel, get a new crew, train, and then reopen. I believe it will be better maintained, and the customers will have a much better appreciation for the store!
