Didn't have much time to look around but I saw the free popcorn and coffee bar which was impressive and a first for me. My first gun bar also. Met a nice man who was buying a gun. I'm an out of state visitor from Oakland, CA visiting some family members, one of whom bought a gun from Erica recently. Great value on prices compared to CA and she was really helpful with letting me compare the weight of a few firearms and checking the bullet capacity. read more

Terrible customer service... TERRIBLE. They live and die by your phone number or receipt and are incapable of thinking outside the box to solve customer problems. Customer service girl was short and abrupt from the very beginning. It didn't get any better when it was found that my number was no longer in their system. When a manager was requested he was even worse. I get it's the holidays and they are busy, but still. No apology for not being able to help, no attempt to solve the problem another way. It began to devolve into an argument due to the managers lack of professionalism before I finally just walked away. Amazing who RK thinks is fit to "lead" their brand. A great farm and garden store. This Winchester location is wonderful. They have fantastic selections. It seems they have just about everything - reminds me of an enormous old time country store. Whether you need baby chick's, turkeys, ducks - they usually have them is stock. Need boots or tough clothing? Plants in season? Etc. Parttsfor your truck or tractor? Household items? This is a very sad place to do any type of shopping. The service is dismal at best. Customer service just doesn't exist anymore and you surely won't get it from management or store personnel at this store. The Selection is t bad but the poor customer service and high prices don't teeter the scale to choice Rural King. I won't be going back because of the poor customer service with the staff. I would save my time, money, efforts and self-worth and do the same. read more

We have decided we enjoy stopping at farm stores. They have many items we can use such as pet supplies and pet food. This was a nice big Rural King store. I enjoyed walking through the stores and they always have nice jeans and tee shirts. People were purchasing trees and pet supplies and other items today. You can refill your grill gas container at the store. All in all a great place to stop for many of your home needs. They are just now putting out garden supplies for the spring. read more

The things available on this store I can't find it anywhere else! To say I'm satisfied would be an understatement.

The rural king return policy on back of receipt/online states that an id is required without a receipt. At store #83 Winchester , KY they are violating this policy by requiring a phone number and an ID with a receipt. They even do this with a simple cash overcharge while customer is still in the store! The manager stated it was corporate policy! This conflicts directly with corporate policy. Rural King states that they store your personal information in their files. Buyer beware! read more

You can not get any help at this place , I literally got on the intercom twice and paged customer needs assistance. The people are absolutely clueless as to what they are selling. Most workers are older retirees abs all they are concerned with is eating the free popcorn read more

We really need a rural king in the Somerset Ky area. The one closest to us is about 90 minutes away and therefore eats up a lot of savings in gasoline costs to get there. Lots of nice items at reasonable pricing. I love the sale items if you are there at the right day and time I wish the pigs ears were not so expensive. Potato seed worked great. I adore handmade soaps but very expensive. read more

I found myself in the big city of Winchester for over a week and stopped in here twice. It's located in an old KMart location, across the street from Captain D's. It reminded me of Big Lots. When you first walk in, you can grab a small complimentary bag of popcorn, straight from popping machine. They even supply salt and hand sanitizer. I was really surprised to find baby goslings and chicklets. There are signs that say do not handle them for health reasons, I say YOLO and be rebellious and scoop one up and play with it when no one is watching. Remember, there is hand sanitizer at the front, by the popcorn. Dad gets his corn from there. He feeds the deer with it, it comes in huge dog food like bags for under $8. Speaking of dog food, I was also surprised to find so many name brand dog food. It's still not as cheap as what you can find on chewy.com though. I picked up a pack of socks, a 24 pack of bottled water for $1.99 and some cleaning supplies. I would definitely find myself here more often if I lived in Winchester. Is it worth the trip down from Lexington, maybe? Hit up the auction house and the Bargain Hunt while you're there too. read more

Was curious about this place because I've never heard of it before. They have a little bit of everything. Kind of a cross between Home Depot and Southern States. Considering it was just opened, it was laid out very logically and organized. Enjoyed my shopping experience and will be going back again and again. read more

Purchased a troy built tb30r riding lawn mower here at the Winchester location... Had to bring it in for a service - it stopped running when it warmed up... The service department fixed the issue with a new carburetor BUT they charged me $170 for the carburetor, I could have purchased one online for less than $23 on eBay or $60 from a troy built supplier... Total cost for the service was over $300... should have been a lot less... not happy with their service department... not happy with the over charge on the carburetor... read more

This is a pretty cool store with so much to offer just about anyone. From tractors to guns they have it here. They also have free small bags of movie type popcorn for you while you shop or when you leave to go home. They also have dog food, clothing, various electronic items, and neat country culture type offerings. Guns here are much cheaper than same guns at Cabel's FYI. I saved over 30% on one gun. Rural King is the newest store here in the Winchester area. It just opened here on Monday and is located in the old KMart building. This place is huge. It is like Tractor Supply, but much bigger and much more stuff. They have groceries, cleaning supplies, and canning supplies. You can buy clothes, shoes, and boots for men, women, and children. Rural King carries hardware, tools, and even paint. If you are in the market for farm equipment or farm animal food and supplies this place is where you need to be. They carry grills, guns, fishing supplies, sporting goods, or anything you need for camping. It is hard to list all the things you can find at this place. There is farm equipment everywhere here. They also have live baby chickens and bunny rabbits. WTF? Who does that? That is awsome. When Easter comes, I know where many families are gonna get those last minute pets. Stop in and see what this place is all about. I am so glad it filled in that Kmart building that stood empty for years. read more

I'm not really into Rual King but I love for my husband to go visit the chickens and ducks. He sends home pictures and talks to old friends. My best friend goes there to pick up her water. Some people I know goes just for the pop corn. read more

This place is oddly strange, in a good way. It has a little bit of everything... REALLY. From Harley Davidson boots and apparel, to farm knick knacks, to name brand clothing like Carhartt. Even pet supplies on the other side of the store, and a few toys here and there. Also a gun section, which stays incredibly crowded the last few times I've been in there. My father actually found some hard to find ammo. The atmosphere of this store is odd. It's just a store, but it kind of feels like a flea market. There is always a ton of people, and you can buy popcorn and walk around as you shop. Definitely has a Southern feel to it. read more

Great store, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful employees and management that went above and beyond (John was especially helpful). It is nice to visit a store where people actually seem like they enjoy their jobs, a rare trait anymore these days. We will continue to drive from Lexington, KY to do our shopping here. Prices are always wrong. Egg cartons say 29 cents we paid 39 cents each. Last week we bought pvc pipe marked $1.99 and was charged $2.99 each. The floors are always sticky. The carts are so stuck together can't get them apart. read more

This place really is awesome in itself. If you're any akin to country life, this store will be like Wal-Mart and in it's own little way, IS a Wal-Mart. Carhartt clothing, farm supply, guns, ammo, the list goes on. The store is well kept and the staff are friendly, and the price is right on many of the things they have here. Rural King reminds me most of the old mom and pop shop farm supply stores with a modern day twist. read more

They have just about anything you could ever need but be prepared to spend forever and a day looking for it. There's not really any rhyme or reason to the lay out... Really interesting store with competitive pricing. Terrible customer service though. Takes forever to check out. Slow checkers often have to wait for over 10 minutes for someone to get change or get a manager to show them how to do a return. Hard to find any staff that knows where products are located or if they even carry something. read more

I love how the sell farm animals and it doesn't smell bad in there. I love how they give you popcorn and/or coffee while you shop. they have a wide variety of everything. and you can take your pets in as long as they're on a leash. My only complaint is.. it's hard to find assistance & the prices of clothes is outrageous to me! read more
