Upon entering the barn style store, we noticed very quickly how the inside was clean and staff were friendly. We got a few things to try at home like the fudge and doughnuts. We also got some food: BLT, burger, chips, drinks, etc. There are a lot of places to take beautiful fall photos. We were 3 adults and a toddler, thankfully we paid a reduced price to enter the activity area because only the toddler did anything & it was too cold / wet to do most of the activities. She loved the petting zoo area & had a blast in the corn pit. I recommend going even on a day the sun doesn't shine. Be sure to wear boots.

There's something for everyone here. My friend and I visited on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. We found a spot to sit and enjoy the atmosphere while sipping on apple cider mimosas & slushies. The slushie was my favorite for sure. They have several options for hard cider on tap as well as a variety of food options. We took a hay ride and attempted the corn maze. There's a store with so many different products for purchase. Apples, cider, donuts, jams/jellies, honey, spices, baking mixes, and so many more. I was surprised at all the things they offered. For family fun there's a play area with slides and other kid friendly activities. Admission and parking are free. You pay for any activities that you would like to participate in. A great way to spend a Fall day.

I've been buying flowers from them for about a month now. (The secret to keep your flowers alive longer is to add a cup full of vodka to cold water and an ice cube). I change my water on a daily basis using this method and my flowers last a full 7 days). We also stopped at Nate's to get coffee. I got a cold brew with foam and a shot of toasted marshmallow. My friend got a drip coffee and a bagel with spinach artichoke spread. She said it was really good but on the messy side to eat. I also picked up a jar of carrot cake jam from salad days. There were jewelry booths, that included homemade soap, vegetables fruits, baked goods , fresh pasta, different condiments and spices, rubs, beer, cheese, and assortment of beef, chicken, pork, farm fresh eggs and so on. It was busier than normal today but I think that had a lot to do with people graduating and the fact that the previous weekend was derby so people were out of town. The people selling fresh flowers were extra busy because tomorrow is mother's day. We saw a variety of dogs too which is normal. I like that the main area of the market is sheltered so you have protection from the weather elements and shade for when it gets hot in the summer.

The Sunday market feels a bit more chill than the Saturday market downtown, and the vibe feels a little slower so you have more opportunity to speak to the vendors. Great experience resulting in some delicious eats at home!

Funny enough, we have MORE fun shopping at Aldi, talking to other patrons and then figuring out what our bill would have been elsewhere. Let me just say - we are saving between 40-60% off our previous grocery bill. It's truly shocking. It's more fun than the Target Dollar Spot! We still have the occasional Costco run, but even some of our Costco staples are cheaper at Aldi! Now, if only I can remember a quarter and all my reusable bags!

She's particularly fond of German cookies so every Christmas season I go and buy her a bunch of German cookies. They also had frozen apple strudel which I probably should have gotten. They have the Kringle too. They have beef schnitzel but I was looking for pork which I didn't see unfortunately. I did end up with some cooca dusted truffles and dark chocolate covered marshmallows as well. In the Aldi's "find" isle they had some really nice gifting ideas. Such as a fairly thick blanket but it wasn't what I was looking for. The sled candles were super cute as well.

As of late, I can no longer shop at Krogers, Sam's Club, and most big box stores. 100% of their foods are using Apeel (terrible toxins to preserve old fruit and veggies) actually, makes me sick. And, 100% foods are bio engineered... like they use seed oils in everything... which makes me very sick. This is why there is so much sickness in America. Seed oils is like eating petroleum for your car... very toxic. Now, all the big chain stores are putting toxic plastic on your fruits and veggies that can't be washed off. Sadly, the Apeel foods are un edible. And, often rotten inside. Very sad.... Bill Gates is putting this on all the food worldwide, accept, European countries. I've known Dale for 20 plus years and his has the best organic and fresh fruits and veggies! Love him and his family! Love @ globalfreeliving.com

Garden Gate Farmer Market Review... (I don't recommend Garden Gates Gift Baskets and Fruits and…read moreVeggies.) My family has enjoyed Garden Gate for the last 30 plus years. I thought I had a great relationship with the Garden Gate family. Over the last few years... Dale has been selling conventional fruit as organic fruit et veggies from the Amish. Charging big prices for conventional fruit. The apples and other fruit is obvious gmo with apeel. I bought two expensive fruit baskets for my two mothers... and they provided me with two baskets that didn't have the items I purchased... I bought the baskets for the banana bread loaf and other high quality items. I was disappointed when I picked up the Fruit Baskets on Mother's day??? I lovingly mentioned to Dale... I bought these baskets for the banana bread and other high end items... which they didn't have included. Dales, reply? Get over it... You'll be fine? He replaced the Bread with two small blue berry muffins? I didn't buy a basket with banana's, muffins or grapes... Dale wasn't even gracious and offer to replace these items. He told me to give over it? And, laughed at me... My mother's don't care for banana's, grapes, or muffins... the basket's I ordered didn't have these items in them??? What the heck? So, if you frequent Dales market (Breckenridge Lane, Lou, Ky)... organic fruits starts with a #9 on the fruit and veggies... the water melons aren't ready until the middle of the summer... I bought 1/4 of a watermelon from Dale... cost me $8 and wasn't ripe at all. The apples started with a #3... this means conventionally grown with pesticides. Bugs, birds, rodents, etc.. won't eat conventionally grown fruits or veggies. When you order a basket... take the order and compare it to the order you bought... it says what's included in each basket. I'm not shopping there anymore... Buyer beware.
