This place is a disaster. The staff is looking to bill you multiple times and have a horrible attitude. I spoke to Dr. Schub and his exact words were "These are not my employees. They are LifeBridge employees. They are no more my employees than your employees". Completely threw Lifebridge under the bus. I canceled my colonoscopy and booked with an "adult" in Frederick. Definitely reconsider if you are planning on using this guy!! read more

This man ordered an MRI for me & when I reminded him I had a steel Rodin my back from a scoliosis surgery, he said "oh that's right, we'll call around & see where you can get an ERCP" which is a surgery. I even said to him you already know where I can get one & only you can order it. He then said he was going away for the weekend & would call me on Monday. I hadn't eaten for 22 days & projectile vomited the one time I ate. I called him Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, no return call. I collapsed on Wednesday afternoon & was rushed to the hospital. My potassium blood level was 2.0 & you generally go into cardiac arrest at 2.5. It took 3 days to get my level up enough to do surgery for a necrotic, pus filled & ruptured gallbladder. I needed to be sent to Washington DC for a 2nd surgery I was in such bad shape. My mother kept asking why I had to have drains for 3 1/2 months...the surgeon told her I almost died because I was so infected. I STILL have problems because I was so infected & my liver is damaged. Dr. Schub ABANDONED ME & left me to die & I still suffer daily with pain from that surgery. Don't trust him, he left me to die-not my words-the surgeons. It wasn't a million dollar case so no lawyer wanted to spend time on $100,000 case & at 3 years he gets off Scott free. I'm permanently damaged & he goes on practicing & it is practice not helping anyone. I have 2 friends that had their own issues with him & they looked for another GI. I'm 96 lbs. & can't gain weight, it's been 3 years & 1 month & 4 days. I need iron transfusions. I also saw Holy Cross Germantown ER June 18 & July 7, 2021. I have autoimmune diseases & they should have treated me differently. read more

The people writing these reviews are either crazy or delusional. The past two times I have gone here I've waited 2 hours EACH. I waited an hour in the waiting room and an hour once I was in the exam room...BOTH times. I was so upset about how long it took that I had a panic attack each time. He talks so incredibly slow every time, and once he comes in he takes ten MORE minutes to read the file he knew he should have read previously. I have wasted way too much time here and am definitely not going back. Since I wrote this review- I've found out even more about my issues that make me more angry. I was sitting through my results with another doctor and Dr. Schub never even mentioned that my liver is enlarged. Unbelievable. read more

Dr Schub is an extraordinary physician. He is knowledgeable, patient, thorough and brilliant. His bed side manor is "old school" and sorely needed in today's fast society where every thing is go, go,go. His professionalism is exquisite and his expertise is valued. He is a teacher in his own right and has technical prowess that is exceptional. I have had routine examinations because of stomach problems, colonoscopies because of age and an upper and lower GI track procedure. What creeps. HIs office calls me out of the blue saying I'm due for a colonoscopy. Later I have a video conference with someone there in preparation. Later still they tell me they don't take my medicaid insurance and send a bill for $125 for the video call. I called their office explain what happened and that I'm disabled getting abou $1600 disability a month. They were not helpful but said someone would call back. Never happened. They sent another bill. read more

He is a very nice man with a nice manner but it took over an hour and 15 mins to be seen. He had his nurse practitioner do intake/stuff the medical assistant does when maybe she should have seen some of the patients and it would have been faster. I had what turned out to be an acute problem and got a last min appt so this was good for what it was (scheduled on a friday afternoon for mon morning) but I wouldn't want to see him regularly with these wait times. read more

I have seen Dr. Schub several times as I have a family history of colon cancer. He is very thorough and truly cares about his patients. I am 40 and have had two colonoscopies already due to family history and colon polyps. No issues with either procedure and was in and out in just a few hours. I would highly recommend Dr Schub. This is a follow up to my earlier review. I received a personal call from Dr. Schub to explain the procedures and the reasoning for them. Once again, he provided answers to the questions I had and the reasoning for the recommended diagnostic assays and procedures. To reiterate, my earlier review was based on a single visit. And to be clear, the nurse practitioner that I saw was professional and was also well versed in her description of the procedures that were recommended. Had I known the reason for the procedures in advance from my primary care physician, the discussion with the nurse practitioner would have more meaningful. I am confident with the recommended diagnostic assays and procedures moving forward, and I commend Dr. Schub and his staff on the professionalism and excellence in care that they have provided to me. read more

Dr. Schub has been my gastroenterologist for 25 years. He is easy to talk to, very professional and knowledgeable about his specialty. I was referred to Dr Schub by my close friend and Personal Care Physician Dr Udochi whose office is just round the corner from his. Dr Schub has a very cold bedside manner. He didn't take time to explain procedure or make small talk. I felt that I was just another faceless body he had to do a procedure on. My husband had a worse experience. I started seeing Dr. Schub about 6 or 7 years ago, and can honestly say he was one of the most thorough doctors I'd ever seen. This may contribute to the fact that is not always on time. Yes, it's frustrating when it's 30 minutes past your appointment time and you haven't been taken into the exam room. But his knowledge and the time he spends with his patients is worth it. The only reason I stopped seeing him is because I moved out of the area. I've seen other GE's since leaving his practice, and I've been less than impressed with them. He's the only doctor who sat down with me after an upper endoscopy and walked me through the report. He even gave me a copy of the report and color pictures to take with me! If you're looking for a doctor who gets you in and out and doesn't spend the necessary time going over your issues, then he's not the doctor for you. read more

2nd time for a colonoscopy. From beginning to end this was a good experience. The staff are very helpful and Dr. Schub is the best.

The man is simply the best in the business! He's knowledgeable, very very experienced, fun, he cares and get your problems solved! I've had 2 previous GNT docs and by far DR. Schrub is rated the best!! He does most of the medical testing (endoscopy and colonoscopy) in his office. Which can sometimes cause apt to run late, but he's worth the wait! I was treated back a month ago I went in for anal fissures and a bad rash he came in and took his time and was very thorough the Rx two medication one of which has given me has been a blessing. Scheduling an appointment was easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rebecca the Nurse Practitioner was wonderful, she makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. Dr. Schub is hilarious, he made me feel very relaxed being the type of visit and what it entails. I really appreciate his information even with pictures. Dr. Schub was very good! I called on a Monday and got an apointment for two days later on Wednesday. His staff was helpful and polite over the phone, the prepared me for the visit with first patient forms and other useful information. I did not wait long in the waiting room, and in the patient's room I waited about 15-20 minutes. Dr. Schub worked as a team with his physician's assistant, they used a laptop to write down what I was saying and bounced ideas back and forth with each other. I thought this was really interesting, I have never seen a doctor work like this (except in the movies). I am returning for a procedure next week, I will update after that! read more

Dr. Schub is exceptional. He is caring knowledgeable and supportive for a very complicated subject. The other gastroenterologists I have seen have been of limited mindset and indifferent. He gives the patient as much time as they need and is sometimes behind schedle doing that but makes it up to you. So, be prepared. He is worth it.. read more

Dr. Schub is one of the best doctors that I have ever had over the course of my life - and that covers a period of over 60 years. I have rarely seen a doctor that is so thorough. For a given ailment or set of symptoms, he never jumps to conclusions just to speed up the process. Rather, he carefully considers the possibilities and does not hesitate to utilize his staff's expertise as a resource. That would be good enough for me; however, in addition, he is kind, thoughtful and exudes a genuine caring nature. I cannot say enough about Dr. Schub. I highly recommend him. read more
