We came out from California for a family gathering and this place was a perfect fit. The property was amazing! The home felt like home. Everything that we needed, from the kitchen to bedrooms and bathrooms was provided. The patio was amazing as well. Each morning I would sit and listen to the goats wake up and I would watch the deer graze in the yard. Watching the chickens peck and goats be goats was a highlight of my day. The storm the blew through was amazing as well. Listening to rain fall on a tin roof might not sound relaxing but believe me it is. Jesse and his team really know how to provide a great space. If you're looking for a quiet getaway for your small family or your large family (we had 26 people) this is the place to stay. Close to Texas State University, the San Marcos River float, and the Armadillo Disc golf course. This is a place that I will definitely be back. read more

Absolutely WONDERFUL stay at Rustic Barnyard. We stayed in the Romantic Cabin and it was a beautiful, story book like, dream atmosphere. So clean in the cabin. It lived up to its name! The lush green, the welcome from the farms dog, Kiko, it was all wonderful and so relaxing. We will be returning! read more
