The campground was clean, the spaces are not cramped together and more than a few have lake views. There is running water, pit toilets, and steps down to the lake, and each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring, and parking spot. A few are against the forest, some are in the middle of the site, and the others kind of by the lake (these were my favorite, nothing like waking up in the morning and looking out on a clear blue body of water). Overall I was very happy with this campground, it seemed underused, which was kind of surprising given the beauty and quietude of the area. My only complain was that it had a lot of yellow jackets that wanted to eat my lunch more than I did. Bring spray or something, you're probably going to want it. Or maybe it was just my site, who knows. You can fish in the lake, it's stocked with trout. The water also seemed very clean, I almost went for a swim (it wasn't that cold either). There is also a day-use area, so you can just picnic or fish if you feel like it. To get here you have to drive down S Stephan Bridge Rd and will then take a left - keep your eyes peeled for the sign. There is also a sign on MI-72 which will point you in the right direction.

The Husband started ranting with the "F" words at campers and in front of kids too. The bathrooms were locked, except two, one woman's and one man's and not cleaned regularly. The porta potties in the back were locked. The happy faces in the pictures of the campground are from the campers who used to be there, not now. Also, they have a mean dog that does not like other dogs. I witnessed their dog attacking other dogs, then they blame it on the campers. Take your business somewhere else you will have a better experience.

Our, 26cloud fit right in and it was very cool to see some of the older designs all still being used. Of course, all RV brands are welcome. No motorcycles, golf carts are OK. They had a number of children activities planned for the 4th of July festivities and I even saw a kids Halloween party going by.

Heated year round bath house. Always enjoy camping here, most of our family makes frequent trips throughout the summer.

We loved the campground. It had direct access to the Betsie River, showers and bathrooms were very well.maintaimed a clean...hot water was never a problem. There's Frisbee golf and horseshoes available..firewood was a generous amount for the money. There's 400 acres of state land to the north directly abutting the property. Mostly trailer and tent camping ( we had hammocks and were allowed to choose the spot we liked with the best trees for setup). They do have a canoe and kayak livery that currently only operates on weekends. I rarely gush over a business that doesn't bring me hot delicious food and cocktails...this is an exception to the rule. Hands down one of the best camping experiences. I have been disperse camping the last few years in order to avoid people and some of the issues that come with group camping ( loud drunk ppl...fascist property managers etc) this was about as good as family camping will ever get and the location is incredible. There's a very clean Mobil gas w a pizza place about 2 miles from the campground...and plenty of activities in all direction. Thank you so much for helping make our fishing trip camping headache free and amazing.

We went canoeing which was also pretty fun, and made some smores over the fire. At night if you walk down to the river you can catch a bit of the stars, they look great out here. I will say to bring a box fan if you can because the cabin gets quite warm at night, and bring your own towels. All in all, we had a great time. We will definitely be returning!

We were greeted with the utmost respect from the second we called, to pulling into the parking lot, getting help onto the river, and getting off. It was one of the prettiest parts of the river that we have seen, very wide open. Pulling into the campground from the river, allowed us to experience their adorable establishment. I truly can't wait to go back and camp next time. I won't say any names but we tried the same experience the day before at a close establishment. It was horrible, a long walk with no help, cash only, and a $80.00 cash deposit. The owner was very disrespectful also.

Her and her husband John have zero customer service skills. Campground has lame halloweens. 5 sites participated. No weekend activities for kids. Pool is decent. Playground has been lame since it was installed in 1972. WiFi never works. Jenny lost her mind when I asked about it and blamed the cable company. We liked the location because it's close to ORV trails. New owners wouldn't allow seasonals to keep ORV's parked in overflow parking like previous owners did.we had to haul them up from detroit every time we wanted to use them. If you want to camp in Houghton Lake there are better campgrounds to stay at. This should be your last choice.

Bathrooms, sites, pool, store, and picnic building (I forget the name of it) are all super clean and very well maintained. I highly recommend this campground for all family oriented people. I'm so glad it's not like a couple other places where people were partying and smoking pot till all hours. I don't need my youngest around that.
