I admitted I had tried on the dress that had a sales tag on it and she told me that I wasn't allowed. I told her there was no sign saying otherwise. She was grimacing at me and shaking in place saying that I broke a cheap replaceable claw clip that was used as its 'hanger' . Lots of sarcasm and domineering attitude from this very young woman, saying "of course, just assume everything!" In a high pitched tone. if you want a fun experience, this is the opposite of the place you want to go. Terrible service, lackluster and dirty clothing available, store cleanliness in general is allergenic and dust filled. Dont waste your time.

A few doors down from MacKay's is this compact and funky little kitchen store. I say compact because it's wall to wall with everything you've ever thought of needing for your kitchen, a probably a few you haven't. Wine and beer glasses from Riedel, Bohemia and Waterford, knives from Wusthof and Henckel, ceramics and cast iron from Le Creuset and Emile Henry and cookbooks from Julia Child, Best of Bridge and some obvious quirky titles (Recipes for the Modern Wife, Cooking with Booze) as well as tea and coffee machines from Bodum and Krups. Where Kitchen Boutique really shines is it's interesting gadgets and colours. Animal themes are in full force, window herb gardens, oils, vinegars, dips, rubs, even the muffin tins have themes. And if you're bored of stainless steel everything, I'm pretty sure I saw every usual kitchen gadget or utensil in at least 6 colours. Last, they have kitchen packages for every taste and budget. You'll need at least an hour in Kitchen Boutique, but with good reason. Besides, if you already made The drive to Cochrane, you have the time.

I'm not the crafty type, wish I was so I wouldn't have thought of this place for Christmas decor. First off the store is huge and they have everything. I thought they were only an arts and crafts kind of place, but I was so wrong. From painting supplies, to baking, organization baskets,to every kind of seasonal decoration you can think of, to artificial flowers and plants. A bit of everything. The staff were accommodating and I always found someone to steer me in the right direction. Plenty of parking in front too. It's not a store to make a quick trip too since you get side tracked with all the other aisles. I defiantly found Christmas decorations that I was after and plenty more. Will be back again.

Basically, just like every other BB&B, it's bright, stocked to the gills and filled with virtually everything conceivable that is homewares, linen, kitchen gadgets and so much more. I really can't comment too much on it, since it's the same at every one no matter where you go across North America (though I'm still looking for Christopher Walken to give me a magic remote control just like in the movie Click). I like going here from time to time, mostly to see what other type of gadget and tool is there to be had for my use, whether it be making industrial amounts of french fries to being able to make foie gras, halibut and bacon ice cream with their nuclear powered ice cream maker and automated car engine tuner. As for what's in the Beyooooonnndddd (echo echo echo), well, toys, discounted movies, candy and so on. While not exactly a great selection, the toys they do have are actually pretty tasteful and not the usual schlock stuff but something more high end (presently all kinds of Discovery Channel Kids science stuff, and I remember them selling kid versions of Night Vision goggles once or twice). Oh, and I do love the free demos of the coffee machines. While I own a Keurig myself, I find it so neat that I get ot have a ton of samples from the Nespresso and other machines, though they do get a little cross if you do try more than one...or six (sheepish look). Needless to say, I usually leave the BB&B pretty darn wired! Basically, this is a place I wouldn't visit often, but would be a place I would go to if I was doing a house or wedding registry and such.
