DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE! The MANAGER is very unprofessional! I work in hospitality industry and I would NEVER tell my customers to F**k them self or that they are an idiot! This is so sad! Good service from our waitress......however, due to Covid they have "less" seating and instead of turning patrons away they try to sit people from different parties at the same table despite being in the midst of a pandemic. When our party tried to tell the host we weren't comfortable having people from another party sit at our table because of the pandemic his response was that "well yeah, we have less tables because of that reason...". Rustic tap has always been my go to spot for watching football on Sundays, however; I will never be returning again after my experience there on 11-22-20. Upon arriving around 1pm, it was not very full so we had our own table which was adequately spaced out from other tables and our waitress was very helpful and prompt. Around 3, a gentleman wearing a cow print mask approached us and said "it looks like it's about to rain so we are going to have people sit with you". I responded saying that we were not comfortable with that and declined, to which he scoffed and walked away. 2 minutes later, 3 people came and sat at our table saying there were told to by the gentleman we had just had an encounter with. Our waitress came by and asked if we were comfortable with it considering we had just ordered a drink and we would have to stay for at least another 20 minutes, even after I said no she said "well sorry" and proceeded to do nothing. I asked to speak to a manager who did absolutely nothing except say "I can try to ask them to move", not understanding the concept that we are in midst of a global pandemic and refusing to allow social distancing is hugely irresponsible and not to mention dangerous to the public health. Places who don't follow the rules like this are the very reason why bars and restaurants are in danger of being shut down again. read more

Draft list has mostly local but the 5 top IPA in town all sit here. Little expensive at $8 a beer but considering there was live music when I went I considered it a tack on cover fee (no charge at the door). Big outdoor yard and live music. Small snacks but mostly you come here for the beer and liquor and good times. With tons of TVs I would definitely come back and spend an afternoon or night. read more

I organized a pedal PubCrawler for 15 friends for Nov birthdays. Our Pubcrawler Driver recommended Rustic Tap as one of the bars to hit on our last stop. It was the 3rd bar on our route. Most people were not drinking in our group because it was a Sunday night event and those that were drinking had only had maybe 1 or 2 drinks by the 3rd bar stop on the PubCrawler. The guy checking ID's at the door was extremely rude to our whole group and wouldn't let any of us in. He said we were all too drunk. We took our business to The Dogwood. We had an amazing time and Rustic Tap lost our business and 15 friends can share word of mouth pretty fast around downtown Austin. First impressions are a big deal and the guy checking the ID's on Sunday Nov 4th at 6:30 pm was a horrible representation for Rustic Tap. read more

Bartenders are friendly, drinks are yummy (and fair priced) the games are creative and make you laugh, and the lawn chairs with the fire pit on cooler nights make this place picturesque. I make it a point to introduce more friends to this place every chance I get. It's a fun, chill outside bar that does not lack activity or excitement. The bar is fun. It is an outside bar with canvas roof sections which allow you to see the sky. They have giant beer pong using a volleyball and trash cans, corn hole and music. This was a cool little spot around the brunch place we were planning on dining. Since it was almost 2 hrs of a wait, we decided to grab some dranks at this rustic bar. A simple "excuse me" "pardon me" would of done the trick. It's just rude to reach in unannounced when my group was in mid convo. Drinks weren't top notch but no horrible. Snacks were bleh. The spinach artichoke was a little bit off. I can't exactly point out why. But the chips served with it was stale. I also got the taquitos served with sour cream and guacamole. The bartender waved and told us to pop in while we were walking by so we figured why not! I moved from Raleigh, NC and there is a big craft beer scene back in NC. I was hoping to find a bar that had a nice setting and some great craft and local beer. On my walk on W 6th St, I see this open area bar thought, why not? I'm glad I did, the servers were very friendly. They did have a good selection of local beers. The space is large and you can sit by yourself at the bar or meet up (or make) friends at one of their picnic tables. This is a place where anyone can feel welcome to have a good beer. If you're dressed to the nines or have on shorts and flip-flops, you can enjoy a great drink while watching other people try to hula hoop. Will most certainly come back. read more
