Truly an amazing experience for any car and need for speed demons out there at all levels. I thought the day was great, the staff, the management and all were superb. Nervous at first trying to keep up in the training class, but once in the car all was well. I had one car in front of me that would not listen, but I did get a few extra laps to make up for that. My experience was great. I drove it like I stole it. I think some folks expectations are not realistic. There where two guys who should not have thought about even getting in the car. I guess that is why they sell the insurance. I am a bigger guy, 6'-4" 280 lbs and had no issues getting in and out of the car. I can drive a stick, so that was not an issue for me. But you only have to shift once, so for the non-stick people, it is very easy. I would highly recommend. read more

This is not an experience I can recommend at all. Right off the bat, we're told in the information packet not to be late because the drivers' meeting WILL START ON TIME (emphasis theirs). Ours started almost an hour late. For the first 30 minutes, no one on the staff seemed to even notice that the instructor hadn't showed up. Finally we were told (after one gentleman actually had to go find someone for an explanation) that he'd be with us in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later, the instructor showed up with a story about how most of the crew failed to show up for work and he had to call in his family to come and assist, and that someone had put diesel fuel in all the cars so they were fixing that mistake. I was not filled with confidence. Not being someone with any racing experience, I was a little comforted when he assured us that our only goal was to have fun. Unfortunately, the man on the radio when you're actually racing didn't share that view and really just likes to yell at you for driving too slowly. Also, despite going on and on in the promotional materials about how this is a real racing experience and you can pass at any time, that's not true at all. You're only allowed to pass at certain places on the track and only when the radio man tells you to. Basically, you just do what you're told. It wasn't any fun at all. Also, the cars are real clunkers. I wasn't expecting shiny new TV-ready cars, but these didn't even feel safe and just belched smoke. read more

BEWARE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! My wife bought me a ride along package to Motordrome in Pittsburgh and I immediately scheduled a day in May because I knew the spots in the spring would fill up quickly. Some time later they emailed me to reschedule and the only available slots were in the summer. so rescheduled for June 28th at 1130. It was 90 degrees by noon, at which time I was still standing outside the gate waiting to get on the track. We had arrived 1 hour early as they recommended. I did not get on the track until 1pm at which time they had me put on a fire suit and sit for another hour and a half. They never mentioned how long we would be sitting there nor did they offer any sort of refreshments. The workers were so arrogant as they talked about how they have to keep hydrated and they get sick when their sugar levels drop. All the while, the group of us sat and waited and waited and waited.. Other folks have had the same "experience". I was so excited but I had lost all motivation after standing around for almost two hours and then sitting around for another almost 2 hours. We had planned on making a day out of our trip from Pittsburgh to the area. We were so exhausted after sitting around in the heat all day, we went straight back home. Did I mention my wife had to sit by herself for 2 hours in the 90 degree heat after standing with me for an hour and a half waiting to get in. They offered no compensation and no apologies. VERY UNORGANIZED AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL The ride was great and was over in less than 2 mins. "My scheduled class for this 'experience' was at 3pm (told to get there at 2pm) and it wasn't until 4pm that we started our class. All the other customers and I sat in a room this whole time with out any of the staff telling us what was going on. Anyways, we finish at around 4:45 and then go put on our race gear." First we arrive and eventually found our way to the stock car racing experience. After not so exceptional customer service, we concluded that the professional driver rides were toward the front of the line. Then after offering "official" tickets to several different people who looked at me like I was crazy for having a ticket we concluded we needed a helmet." Due to excessively long wait times, and a lack of functional cars we decided to fore go the ride along. 3 hours after our scheduled time we were finally in our cars. I would give them negative stars if possible. My sister has been trying to get her money refunded for over 2 months now. First our Dad waited for 5 hours just to get into the car. Then they shortchanged him almost 2 laps. The "video" of his face as he was driving recorded his arm and window. Valerie Fournier has been less than helpful in getting this matter resolved. Do not use this company ever for a "racing experience". Unless you're into disappointment and frustration. read more

Got the 10lap qualifier for a Christmas gift and just used it this past weekend. The experience is pretty well organized. Registration was easy. The driver's training was thorough, but could have done without the instructor taking every opportunity to tell us how wonderful he was. As a spectator the cars looked like they were going slow, but once you get behind the wheel it seems much faster. I would probably do this again and get the extra laps they offered at registration. read more

Fantastic.....that is all I can say. My husband use to race dune buggies, trucks and motocross. He had his armed ripped off during a dune buggy race. Fear not it was attached and functions perfect. My point is, it was worth any amount of money to see the smile on his face when he came out of that car. He hasn't stopped talking about his racing experience. I have to admit I loved seeing him race that car around the track. The staff was all courteous and knowledgeable in every aspect of his racing experience. We had a delay in starting due to a previous crash, but once it got going, it was a definite adrenalin rush. Speed demons of all levels will definitely enjoy this. My husband can't wait to go again. Thank you for offering this opportunity we will be back for more. My two 14 year olds want to do the ride along. I am considering driving myself, being an adrenalin junky myself. read more

I was gifted the qualifier short track experience (Groupon) here for Christmas. One of the best gifts ever! Was suspicious because of prior Groupon ripoffs, and some bad reviews I'd read - but really enjoyed this one. Pre-race instruction was casual and brief - be sure to ask questions though. If it's a hot day bring some paper towels to mop the sweat out of the previously-worn helmet (kinda gross). The cars are what you'd expect a late model short track stock car to be - these are not the Cup cars you watch on tv - they're what the locals race at these tracks every Friday night. Plenty of power to get you down the straightaways, and to make you appreciate the good braking and handling in the banked corners! The whole race is carefully choreographed by a spotter on the radio who tells the slower cars to move down to allow the pass (only passing is on the exit from the turns - into the straightaways for safety). Works well as long as other drivers hear & pay attention. It is a bit hard to hear and a somewhat confusing as the spotter is talking to everyone at the same time and refers to you by your car number. Not too hard to figure out, but there's one in every crowd. Get some extra laps - by the time you get comfortable and start to figure out how to go fast your time will be up. Also make sure you have a friend with a reliable camcorder. The optional in-car camera recordings are notably unreliable (but refunded). This was a father's day gift for my husband. He was very excited about the whole experience. We arrived at 1:40pm for our 2pm time slot. We waited 20+ minutes to check in with the only person working in the trailer. Then his class was supposed to start at 2, however because of the line for check in, did not start till 2:25pm. When we arrived we were going to purchase the race insurance, $60, they had a package for $99 that included the insurance and a 3 lap ride along-great deal based on their regular pricing. However there was only 1 car doing the ride along, and a very very long line of people waiting. (at least a 1+hour wait) The gentleman who did the class warned us of the line, and so everyone was happy, he agreed for anyone who didn't want to wait for the ride along, he would exchange for a race photo plaque, which we took instead. About the same price value at the ride along. All in all the race experience for my husband was AWESOME! The only improvement is to make sure guests know they should arrive earlier than the race time and they need to add 1-2 employees to help check people in. Also if you buy from a 3rd party like Groupon, which we did, you NEED that receipt also. Overall it is something we would definitely do again, and the crew there did a great job making sure everyone was satisfied!!
