Pros: Well maintained track Ample food and drink menu Excellent, attentive staff Lockers for small items while you race Fun arcade and pin ball area Easy to register when you arrive They provide helmets Easy parking Cons: It takes a long time to get here from most suburbs In an industrial area, though the need lots of space Could have been a l=bit more decorated Pro tip: Lots of fun for corporate events and birthday parties!

My husband suggested we go to this place for his birthday. I'm not sure why I didn't think of this before he did, but alas, we found ourselves there on a Monday afternoon around 3. **Check their website or call in advance to make sure they have availability. The place was rented out for a private party at 4:30, so we were able to do a couple races and play in the arcade area before then. They have a menu that looked pretty good, but we just got drinks as we had already had lunch. Would love to go back and try the food though! We were the only people there when we first showed up, so we had the track to ourselves. I'm sure it gets crowded and rowdy with more people though! The staff were all very friendly and explained exactly what to do before throwing on our helmets and hitting the indoor track. They also have an axe throwing studio within the building. The arcade was also really fun! They have D&B style game cards that you can purchase in the arcade area. All the pinball machines take quarters and there is a change machine just beyond the pinball wall. This is a great place for a fun date night or a birthday surprise for any guy in your life. It was for mine!

We had a mix of boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 11, and it was amazing to see how every single one of them equally loved it! We were there in the winter and it felt like we practically had the place to ourselves. The variety of things to do kept everyone entertained--we went snow tubing, played a ton of games in the arcade, bumped cars (that even my 5 year old was tall enough to drive alone and she was absolutely thrilled!), rode the rides, and even had a blast dancing. The 'paintball' (the little gel beads) was such a hit with the kids, and we ended the day perfectly by roasting marshmallows by the fire. I was shocked at how inexpensive it was for our family of 4 to have 3 hours of uninterrupted nonstop fun! What really stood out was the atmosphere. You can tell that whoever runs this place truly cares about it. It's so well-maintained, and honestly, the bathrooms were incredibly clean!!!! This was a huge deal for us because we drove an hour and a half to get there--we needed a clean spot to change everyone into snow pants when we arrived and back into regular clothes before the long drive home. It made the whole trip so much smoother! Every single staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. A special shout-out to the lady working the concession stand--she gave each kid a different patterned cup so we could keep track of whose was whose! Little details like that really went a long way with me. You can tell the staff takes real pride in the guest experience. We had the best time ever and are already planning our next trip. We will definitely be back this winter, and we can't wait to come back in the summer! Highly recommend for families!

If you aren't going to ride, it is free. My boys ages 9 and 16, my nephew age 13, and my niece age 6 always have a blast. From 5-6, they do the water slides since they close at 6. From 6-8, they do everything else in the park. There is a mini roller coaster, bumper cars, go karts, the infamous tilt a whirl, mini golf, a batting cage, an arcade and so forth. For the price of $16, you can't beat it! We have local places back home and they cost more than $16 just to ride the go karts twice. Last summer, I wrote a review about the grounds not being handicap friendly because it was all gravel. Well to my surprise, they paved the grounds so now handicap individuals can also attend with family and friends. You don't have to wait in long lines like you would at a local city fest/carnival, state fair, or themed amusement park. No outside food or drink is allowed. There is a small concession stand that sells water, pop, pretzels, nachos, pizza, etc. The 2 vending machines located by the go karts are still out of order. Instead of buying a 65 cent can of pop from the machine you must pay $3.00 for a bottle at the concession stand. On my last visit in June, I mentioned the machines being out of order but they still are inoperable. I guess I will call the vendor myself because $3.00 for a bottle of water is ridiculous. The manager Christine is very friendly. She found my iPhone magnetic charger that I left at the entrance when purchasing wristbands. They have lockers for 50 cent where you can place your personal belongings. Overall, the kids had fun and it didn't break my pockets so that's all that matters. I don't know what people expect for such a minimal price! I guess you can't please everyone.

From there, you enter the restaurant and are greeted by the hostess. There seemed to be several different dining areas--an upstairs area, a room off to the side, and another dining room down a few steps. The lower dining room is also ADA accessible. I don't drink alcohol, so I was happy to see that they had a few mocktail options. We started with the heirloom tomato salad and OMG. This was genuinely one of the best things I've ever tasted. The peaches, basil sorbet, tomatoes, and that bite of vinegar were SO complementary. Every bite had something going on. I ate the entire thing myself and didn't even offer any to my husband, which probably says more than anything else I could write about it. We also tried the mushrooms, smoked olives, and grilled peaches. My husband really enjoyed the mushrooms and peaches. I was more indifferent toward those dishes--they were perfectly fine, but the tomato salad was such a standout that nothing else we had to start came close for me. For my entrée, I ordered the smoked cod rigatoni. This one unfortunately wasn't my favorite. It was fine, but there was an oddly gamey flavor to it that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I love smoked flavors, so I don't think it was simply the smokiness--there was just something about the flavor that didn't work for me. My husband ordered the halibut and absolutely loved it. For dessert, we shared the banana PB&J, and my husband also ordered an affogato. Interestingly, they used chocolate syrup in the affogato, which he had never had before, so that was a fun and unexpected twist. Overall, Hyeholde is absolutely worth experiencing at least once. The setting is beautiful and unlike almost anywhere else in Pittsburgh, the service and atmosphere make dinner feel like an occasion, and that heirloom tomato salad alone is something I'll be thinking about for a long time. Not every dish was a home run for me, but the ones that were really stood out.
