I don't believe that quality professional health care begins with an impersonal robotic voice. I did ask to speak to a live personal agent, but the phone just rings and rings and rings. This does not speak well for the type of care I expect from healthcare professionals.

From the moment I walked in, I felt completely cared for. I have never been to an endoscopy center that goes above and beyond the way this one does. They put a movie on for me while I was getting my fluids, constantly reassured me, and explained everything in detail multiple times so I felt comfortable and informed. In the procedure room, they even played music for me. When I was scared to go under, they held my hand and gently rubbed my head to comfort me. That meant more to me than I can explain. After the procedure, they hand-fed me a drink, checked on me, and even gave me a hug before I left. I honestly want to cry thinking about how much care and compassion I was shown. Dr. Richard R. Dobhan and his staff are truly amazing. I felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared about the entire time.

I was sent to Gastroenterology due to elevated liver enzymes. My family doctor ‍ made the referral…read moreto this clinic. When I was given an appointment I was never told that my appointment was with "Susan," who is apparently Dr. Rusynyk's NP. This really disappointed me because I feel I should have been told who I was going to see. I quickly learned that at THIS clinic, you must submit to an upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy before you are granted the privilege of an office visit with the actual Gastroenterologist. Right away, I let them know this made me uncomfortable. I have a gene for a genetic liver condition and these tests were not part of a work up for this condition that I am familiar with - my son has the worst form of the gene and has the disease. I have cared for him with many gastros over his sixteen years. He has never been scoped- up or down. They scheduled the scopes for me anyway and when they called a week out to "remind" me I canceled them. At this point I shared it was important for me as an individual to meet my physician in a clinical setting where I feel safe before undergoing a procedure at the hospital. I explained that I have PTSD from an active shooter situation at a hospital and was very forthright that I did not want to waste the doctor's time or procedure space by getting panicked right before the procedure because I do not know my doctor. The gals that work reception were very impatient with me. They insisted that they just could not accommodate my needs and it just wasn't done. Finally, they booked me an office visit with the doctor- for over six months away. My scopes however, could have been done with only a two week wait time. ‍ I took that appointment. A couple weeks later I called in and said I was have RUQ pain and asked for advice. I was given an appointment for the next week with Susan the NP. The next day I ended up going to the ER and found out my liver enzymes were up again. The following day, a receptionist from this clinic calls and tells me Susan is unwilling to see me because I won't have the scopes. Even though I've just been to ER. Even though my liver function is not great AGAIN. I'm told my appointment is canceled. Move forward to the week of the canceled appointment: I get a phone call reminder I have to come in to see Susan. I tell them my appoint was canceled. I start to wonder wth is going on over there. They tell me it was never canceled. The receptionist was very rude to me. I feel very confused and unsure if I can trust this clinic at this point. So, I end up changing Gastroenterologists and have to drive over an hour away to see someone else. I feel small accommodations for PTSD and mental health should be routine in medical offices. I started feeling very gaslighted by this office and that is very unprofessional. My expectation to meet my physician in an office setting prior to a procedure is not a lot to ask. Furthermore, if a patient needs an endoscopy and colonoscopy the patient should be told why these tests are needed for their specific case. Not a blanket, "that is what everyone gets. That is how he does it".

Worst Dr's Office visit EVER; I wish I could give them 0 stars. I had an appointment from the…read moreVeterans Administration to go see a Gastro Dr, I have been waiting for 6 months to get this appointment, Today was my appointment at 10:30 am. We left the house at 9:40 am, according to maps the address was 13 miles away and will take approx. 10 mins to get there. After riding around in a circle for over 15 min, following the maps instructions. we decided to call the office and get some details as to where to go..... 20 mins later we are still on hold with the office to get better directions. Finally, the phone was answered, and I was asked to continue to hold, finally I get a real person to talk to and I told them about all of the above, I was told if I didn't know where it was that I should have called the office earlier. I would not have missed my appoint, i told her if she would have answered the phone 20 mins ago then i would have gotten the correct directions and would have made my appointment, so i asked to be rescheduled. after going back and forth for a couple more mins I realized I was wasting my time, she continued to tell me that I should have got with them well before hand to get the directions, well I didn't know the address was incorrect in maps and I am sure they have had this problem before, I finally said just cancel my appointment, it's not worth the aggravation and if a Dr office can't take the time to give me the correct address, it pretty much sums up the type of care I would have received from this facility. I have had 8 stomach surgeries in the past 2 years, I moved here from Dothan, Alabama to Daphne Alabama, therefor I had to go thru the red tape of transferring my medical care to a doctor closer to my new Daphne Home. This is crazy now I have to wait for a new appointment from the VA, These Doctors offices don't realize that we veterans referred by the VA can't make another appointment it has to go thru the VA, therefore that is another time lapse, Anyways, Veterans if you are referred to this office thru Community Care thru the VA, run, run very fast and get another facility these people don't care about you, Just because of the way I was talked too, told it was my fault for not calling sooner if I didn't know where it was, well all these new found intelligence that we have to locate things over the internet and thru Maps why would I call right, you would think the info is correct and maps can take me right to it, I would not go back to this Drs office if I was on my death bed, dying. You could not pay me enough to go to this facility ever again, and I recommend everyone to consider this when it comes time to see a Gastro specialist. Do yourself a favor find a more credible Dr that wants your business, you will waste time and effort messing with these people.

I have never been so frustrated while dealing with a Dr office. I had an endoscopy and was told I…read morewould get a call on the results at the end of the following week. Nearly two weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything and, since I am still having problems, I called. Interestingly, I was told that a call with a message had been left for me the previous day. No missed calls or message, so I am unsure as to how that happens. Anyways, I was told there was no bacteria, only gastritis and a stricture. The stricture had been stretched with a balloon during the procedure so I was told that basically my problem is "only gastritis". I explained to her that I have had it before however I have never had this type of discomfort in my throat and that I do not know what I am to do because I have completely changed my diet and still no relief. She told me to continue to take my prilosec in which I responded that I wasn't even taking prilosec. I explained, again, that I had previously been on prilosec and I seemed to have to problems with it(I had strong tightness in my throat with it). This had previously been explained to the Dr who completed my scope and he told me that I could try Pepcid AC until my results were in. So I re-explained that to her and she told me,again, about how it is "just mild gastritis" and that people tolerate different things. She then said I could try Nexium. I told her I would try anything and so she said she would send the script in. This was around 3pm in the afternoon. I went to pick my script up at 830p the same night and guess what? NO PRESCRIPTION. At this point I am upset but decided to call the office so that I could leave a message for them to get first thing in the morning. The next day(today) comes and I figured I would get a call on my way to class. Nothing. So I call back and I am told the computers went down. Now I understand that problem but what I do not understand is why someone couldn't call me to tell me that my script wasn't sent. I was told that she would call in my script "when she has time". Ok well that is nice. Not sure why I even wasted my time leaving a message last night since clearly you don't have time to address them. I am not happy at all. This is the last time I will deal with this place.
