It's an ok stadium…read more.. Home office of Rutgers football that opened in 1993. They renovated this place in 2009 making the capacity a little over 52k. If coming here, try and park over by the Jersey Mike's Arena and they run a shuttle bus from 3 hours prior to game time till 3 hours after. The concourse is very narrow. This creates long lines at most of the food/drink stands. Even a trip to the restrooms is an adventure. I tried making this trip when leaving the stadium early 3rd quarter and lines ran 3 sections over. Oh my :( On a positive note, they have several food trucks about a 5 minute walk from the entrance to wet anyone's appetite.

With that being said, I have been to many of the basketball games and I would say the Rutgers environment makes for a great atmosphere, full of energy and volume especially for the basketball games (and especially since they've been winning at home). The student section offers pretty good seating and it houses the loudest section for sure, with the band playing right there as well. The other bleacher seating offers pretty good views until the 300s. Also, once you get to the 300s there is no back support (if that's what you're looking for). There is a number of concession stands around the arena with multiple food and drink options. I would say there should probably be more bathrooms since the lines can get ridiculously long during games. When judging the RAC on its own, it's pretty a good arena. However, compared to its Big Ten rivals, it has a lot of room for improvement and hopefully, they get an upgrade with the recent surge in basketball relevance.

There are also two or three conference meeting rooms that are quite nice. One even has stadium seating. There is a large study space with plenty of seats that seems to be populated with permanent residents of the university. The dining options are a bit lacking. There is a dining hall for undergraduates, as well as a dining hall for faculty which closes way too early at 3 pm. Inside the main building is a convenience store, a Moe's, a Chinese place, Burger King, and Gerlanda's Cafe and PIzza. I think that they should really offer some healthier options for students and staff to eat lunch at. I really only come here when I'm especially lazy, or the weather is bad .I wish there would be a better place for 24 hour coffee. A Starbucks or Dunkin here would be phenomenal. Also they used to have a PNC and a Wells Fargo ATM outside. Now they ONLY have a Chase ATM. I think they should really try and have multiple ATMs here, but Rutgers has clearly sold out to Chase. Meh.

The food options in the cafeteria perhaps aren't the best quality but at least there is variety. Moe's, Szechuan,Gerlanda's pizza & cafe, and Burger King will satisfy your hunger when needed! Of course there is also the convenience store that has pretty much everything you need including some snacks! The apparel selection at the convenience store isn't bad either; I've gotten a couple of hoodies and shirts from there at decent prices. They have sales from time to time!

A state audit has revealed that since Rutgers joined the Big 10 in 2014, the athletic department has hemorrhaged more than a half billion dollars. So much for the absurd talking points and rationale that got everyone hot and bothered 12 years ago. Forget grading in a curve, Rutgers and their cheerleader fan boys in Trenton get a well deserved F. I won't even even embarrass them further by pointing out their 52-93 won/loss record since 2014. Love this spot and being that it's on Rutgers' Piscataway/Livingston campus, it brings back so many memories of being a student there. You can buy tickets on their easy to navigate website (added fee) or in person. I've never experienced them to sell their tickets out, if you're wondering whether to buy in advance or at the cinema.

I checked this place out because of a recent Civil War reenactment event, and I was incredibly…read moreimpressed. It could have been an all day event and I wish I had come earlier because I missed some things like the weapons demonstration. Aside from the regular buildings, there was a camp set up with soldiers, nurses, doctors, cooks, and other professionals that would have been part of a civil war brigade. The reenactors were extremely knowledge and informative with various props and photos from the era. We did get sucked into the singing presentations at the tavern featuring the Libby Prison Band and Matthew Dodd singing period stories and telling comical tales. They alternated presenting on the hour with new songs each hour. For a free presentation, it was thorough, entertaining, and thoughtful. There was plenty of parking and a small gift shop (not too many site specific souvenirs though). I will keep an eye on the calendar and return for future events.
