Before the game, Prudential Center hosted Fan Fest at 4pm in their outdoor lot area (Championship Plaza). There were van / truck vendors giving out NJ Devils Swag, fans were able to play games, engage in other activities & hear the live band play good music. Once we headed into Prudential Center, patrons were able to purchase food & enjoy activities from numerous vendors throughout this spacious facility. Upon entry, Prudential Center gave the first 9,000 fans a "Fan" Shirsey (T-Shirt Style Jersey) commemorating the Final Season of the "Jersey" Jersey (boy, is it comfortable). Courtesy of GEICO, from 5:30pm - 7pm, fans were able to purchase $1 hotdogs from specific food vendors (limit was 4 per person). As this was my 1st time going to a hockey game, I have to say it was electric. There are no fans like sports fans & hockey fans are something else - lol. NJ Devils vs. Ottawa Senators was a great game. As hockey is a 60-Minute game split into 3 20-Minute periods, the NJ Devils Entertainment Team kept the crowd upbeat (even when they were frustrated w/ some of the NJ Devils hockey players & were yelling from their seats) throughput breaks & intermission(s). We were able to ride the Zamboni (so much fun) & to see the NJ Devils players "backstage" before they headed back to the hockey rink. The dopest part was when NJ Devils #13 Nico Hischier scored the winning goal, leading the NJ Devils to beat the Ottawa Senators! The location does not have the gravitational pull of Madison Square Garden, but once you get there, the building is excellent: modern, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. Newark Penn Station is only a short walk away, and NJ Transit is usually a very workable option from Manhattan. You do have to respect weekday commuter traffic, because Penn Station at rush hour can become overwhelming remarkably quickly. Bruce Springsteen gave me perhaps the most quintessential New Jersey experience I have ever had. I was gifted a ticket way up in the nosebleeds with an obstructed view literally behind the stage, and I could not have cared less once the show started. I am definitely a fan, and seeing this New Jersey legend perform in the motherland, surrounded by all that loyalty, pride, and unmistakable Jersey energy, was genuinely magical and inspiring. As a non native, that night brought me closer to a state that can sometimes be misunderstood or lazily judged from the outside, but whose identity and loyalty are a huge part of what makes New Jersey so charming to me. Nothing, however, compares with seeing the Rolling Stones here on back-to-back nights. The Stones are absolute royalty to me, and I spent several hundred dollars per ticket to see them twice, which probably says more than anything about how meaningful those shows were. Watching Mick Jagger command an arena with that level of charisma, physical energy, and presence was one of the great live entertainment experiences of my life. I felt genuinely blessed to be there. Unfortunately, the first Stones night became chaotic before we even left Manhattan. When we reached Penn Station, NJ Transit service toward Newark was already stopped because of an accident on the tracks, so we scrambled downtown and took the PATH instead. We missed the first song or 2, which was painful after spending that much on the tickets, but once we got inside, the stress disappeared. Thankfully, night 2 was far easier and gave me the chance to absorb the entire show from beginning to end. Hockey gives me another reason to have a soft spot for this building because I have always respected the Devils as a franchise. Scott Stevens, Martin Brodeur, Patrik Elias, Scott Niedermayer, Claude Lemieux (RIP), and Ken Daneyko are among the players I have revered over the years, along with Zach Parise, Scott Gomez, and Jason Arnott. That history gives attending a Devils game more meaning to me than simply dropping into another NHL arena. The sightlines are strong, the food is solid, and the crowd has a grounded local personality that fits the franchise perfectly. Operationally, Prudential Center gets a lot right. The building feels cared for, getting around inside is straightforward, and public transit is the obvious choice when service is behaving normally. A cab or Uber from Manhattan works too, although the tunnel costs and pricing premium show up immediately. The people and overall vibe also feel more down-to-earth, which I have always appreciated about coming here. Living in Philadelphia now has given me a wider appreciation for the outstanding collection of city arenas across New York, North Jersey, and Philadelphia. MSG, Barclays Center, Prudential Center, and Philadelphia's arena are all excellent in different ways, with access, pricing, and surrounding environment creating most of the separation between them, and I would love to experience UBS Arena someday too. Prudential Center has given me the Devils, an unforgettable night with The Boss, and 2 extraordinary nights with the Rolling Stones. I am deeply grateful that a building I once thought of primarily as the Devils' home became the setting for some of the most meaningful live music experiences of my life.

Alumni Field is soooooo sweet!!! Alumni Field is a state-of-the-art gem that is tucked away in the…read moreheart of Newark/ the Rutgers-Newark campus. I used to pass Alumni Field on my way to and from the University and I had no clue how nice it was until I actually popped inside one day to watch my friend play soccer. Alumni Field is actually better than most city and college fields in and out of the greater NY/ NJ area. Alumni Field contains an all turf soccer and softball field. The new turf was added in 2009 and is kept in tip-top shape! New scoreboards were added few years back when the University renovated the field and a press box was recently added in Summer 2012. If you need the lights on for night games; all you have to do is make arrangements with Athletics Facilities and they will be more than happy to help you out! The field is mainly used by the Rutgers-Newark Athletics & Rec Dept., local k-12 teams, city leagues and intramurals within the community rent-out Alumni Field as well. I'm not sure what the rental price is, however based on what I hear; I don't think it's going to cost ya an arm and a leg!

The event typically takes place in Times Square but was hosted here for the first time. It is a very spacious venue that managed to allow losts of vendors to set up inside. There was plenty of seating available to watch each panel. This place was clean from top to bottom especially the restrooms. Very nonchalant and uninformed. I have to come in person and inconvenience my schedule because they had a "glitch". They are not open on Fridays and this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and that $30 went down the drain because I don't plan on moving forward.

We selected them at the recommendation of our wedding planner who had numerous positive experiences with them in the past, and right from the beginning we were grateful for our pick. Adam worked with us ahead of time to make sure that the they were in lockstep with our vision. The day of, they showed up early, were professional, and truly set the mood with their beautiful performances (lots of Beatles!). We had them for both the ceremony and the cocktail hour and I'm still receiving comments of praise from our guests. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

It was a nice sized theater although my companion who was seeing a separate film at the same time had his theater changed on him without notice and it was into a much smaller room, so staff ended up handing out free ticket comps to patrons in that theater. The front desk was not in use. Instead, a sign was placed directing your to place your ticket orders at the concession stand. As it was early, not much was started and honestly, it was a bit bare. The fountain machines were not working. I will say however that they fried up some hot, delicious chicken wings. It was better than I ever expected and it was fresh. Bathrooms were clean as the theater had just opened. Staff was nice enough. I would bring my family here for an early show to avoid having to hike it over to AMC Jersey Gardens. It's not my first choice, but it would do because of how easy it is to get here.
