At least one person you just looked at, will not be with you come graduation." Yeah, that not only scared me half to death, but I knew this was only for serious engineering students. It was true - actually - only one person that was next to me at orientation made it to graduation with me. It was the hardest four years of my life, and the greatest decision I have made to come to this institution. Professors are your backbone, your classmates your reality check, your family your lifeline, and your degree the sweetest moment of glory you've ever felt. Every school and campus has its charm and in this center, it is not too far from many midtown hotspots after a good day of work and night classes. The availability of resources online and their library is just amazing and so much perks they give you when being a student--just have to explore and ask regarding their services! Big thing with this school--NETWORK!!! Don't expect career services to connect you with something that would hand you the job--NETWORK. And if you know people, connect them within the alumni and career services section. It does not hurt. Also know a working student resume is much more qualified than a full time student resume and I believe I was successful in connecting my current job and career with my major and so thankful that I had the chance to be in this school making it possible for a potential new beginning.

The Newark campus is somewhat sparse with construction constantly going on just like in New Brunswick to beautify the school. Unfortunately it doesn't look like any of that is happening and after being here for a few years it barely looks like anything has changed. It's a headache coming down here in the morning and afternoon so unless you live near campus, which also not very inviting, it's just a hassle coming here, parking is a trap if you chance it parking on the street or you pay for a parking pass which still require $5 a pop after the $30+ subscription. Bursar, admissions, administration and everything else you have to deal with all bring on migraines and while I know this could be said for any University this one is especially so. I know Rutgers is held in high regard but personally my experience has been most unpleasant and coming to Newark for class is convenient but only a lesser of 2-3 evils.

The administrative building (Blumenthal) is found on University (between Warren and Raymond). You go here for all your registration and bursar needs. The health center is also found there. Most of the buildings where you take classes are contained in the block created by University, Warren, MLK, and Bleeker. Within that square, it's convenient to go to classes. Plus, in this square block are the Dana Library and the Paul Robeson Student Center. The dorms are between Bleeker and Central. Then there are the buildings between University and Washington - Center got Law and Justice (law school and some criminal justice classes there), the parking Deck, Golden Dome Athletic Center, and other classroom buildings. There is also another Parking Deck on Washington between Raymond and Warren. If you don't have a car, there are many public transportation options. The campus is located close to the Washington Street stop on the light rail, and there are also a number of buses that will bring you close to campus. There is a lot more passive green areas and places to sit outside, than when I went to school here many moons ago. It used to be just concrete and red outdoor tables that were bolted to the ground (not as picturesque as today). I am a fan of the Rutgers-Newark Campus. Plus it's close to the Newark Museum and the Main Newark Public Library, as well as the Haynes & Co. building and other nice spots in Halsey Village.

We were served two meals, breakfast and lunch, along with a motivational speech to start us off and the communcations / media breakout room I went to afterward that just gave helpful life times, pretty general for any medium you want to be a part of. Starting off with the breakfast I enjoyed my everything bagel, chocolate donut, and orange juice. Let me just not go with that combo of the last two again. Next, for brunch I had sausage, eggs, a muffin, bacon, and potatoes. A lot of the food itself doesn't really look appetizing, but then again, it still did taste pretty good (maybe I was just really hungry) and it was all free! And so was everything included that day. Hope to be back in the room where it happens next year. As this is a review of the college, the campus is certainly pretty nice for a community college. It definitely earns its title for best in the state. And staff hold lots of wisdom and are certainly qualified for their roles. In the communications field, the cheap access to all the equipment Brookdale has is a good reason to be in school.

You don't have to be a genius to get a 4.0 at Brookdale Community College - you just have to put in a bit of time to do the reading and memorize the stuff the professors told you to memorize. It's pretty basic. But the offerings are very limited. Some sections fill up fast and have wait lists, while the sister face to face classes stack up unfilled. The classes felt like a whole lot of busy work - not a whole lot of learning work - just busy work. The teachers basically want to see that you tried and didn't plagiarize! But that doesn't make you a true expert in the field that you checked the box for when you picked ASSOCIATES in XXXXXXXX
