I walked in the store yesterday, September 28th 2021 to find two absolutely rude and disrespectful women, I felt so discriminated against. The two of them weren't wearing masks and neither was I, I was denied service because I wouldn't put one on. When I asked why they weren't wearing mask but asking the others one of the abruptly replied "because I work here and I don't have to wear one!" So I left. Now I see reading all the reviews that I am not the only one. Really sad!! You need to look wealthy adopt their rules so you can put your hard earned money in their business. No! Not me!! I am so blessed to have found this store. I have never found a bra to fit me correctly ever and have paid to be fitted at numerous places. Terry fitted me within minutes and it completely changed the shape of my body and I swear I look 10yrs younger. Terry made it look so easy and I can't figure out why no one else could do what she did. The bras were $80 each and normally I'd say that was crazy, but if you could see how drastically better I look, $80 is the best money I've spent. Thank you Terry! read more

This place is an absolute SCAM. My mother went in after getting a mastectomy to get a prosthetic and bras to hold it. This business is listed on the Medicare website as a supplier to women who have survived cancer and need this necessary medical equipment. They made her pay $500 for the products after THEY screwed up the reimbursement to Medicare and now have been unwilling to pay even though Medicare says it's their legal obligation to reimburse her. My mom has been though now YEARS of arguing with both Medicare and Ruth Lingerie. The owner at Ruth Lingerie threatened my mother when she went in to get it figured out, so my mom has been scared to go back. The owner is also scamming the Medicare system which is preventing my mom from getting the money back directly through them. SHAME ON YOU. Cancer is a terrible disease and going through a mastectomy is hard enough without Ruth Lingerie scamming survivors and the government out of money for prosthetics. It seems like the other reviews highlight the other unethical business practices that this business partakes in, so fellow consumers, please just do not give them any more business. read more

I first went here a year ago from the recommendation of a friend. It's great to get a custom fitted bra, especially when you're large breasted. Fast forward a year and I went back to purchase another bra and also try a new sports bra. Love the service along with my purchases. They charge a fitting fee, but it is deducted from your purchase. They have a large selection of bathing suits as well as lingerie. read more

Then, I was told I needed to make an appointment for a $25 fitting before I can purchase anything even if I know my size. My money was no good here. I went in to look for a bathing suit, the 2 women there made me feel so uncomfortable. The one women kept yelling what size are you? First of all I don't want to yell my size back to someone how about walking up to me and asking. Then she showed me a small section of very expensive bathing suits, I've paid up to $200 for a suit these were higher. Then she looked me up and down and said "this is all we have, we are at the end of the season" really? In Florida? I tried a few suits on but felt so uncomfortable I ended up leaving. I tried on the dress and she assessed what I needed. Wow! The dress with the selected undergarments looked better than ever. Terri was professional and ever so helpful. They might be sticklers about wearing a mask and making an appointment but if you want a bra that fits, that is the inconvenience you'll have to go through. They seem to have relaxed the mask mandate (I think). They can fit a bra very well and mine look so good and feel so comfortable that I can fall asleep in them. Cindy professionally fit me, provided many styles to try, and helped me asses if they fit correctly and was very patient while I tried on at least 20 bras. As most women, I hate bra shopping. Terri (sp?) was friendly, helpful and judicious about making sure she found the right sizes for me. They had everything I needed/wanted, and more. This will be my "go to" store for bras. That they sell the Marie Jo brand (the brand that I wear) is indicative of the quality of their merchandise. Thumbs up! read more

I went in to buy a bathing suit. They have beautiful suits from Barcelona. I found one I liked and they told me they could alter it to make it fit better. Since she's been in this business for 50 years I trusted her. When I got it back and wore it, it seemed like it was altered too much. After the 3rd wearing(where I was sitting by the pool) the stitching started coming out where it was altered. I took it back and asked her to fix it. She said "what kind of exercise were you doing to make the stitching come out? This has never happened" I told her I was sitting at a pool doing nothing (truth). Anyhow she said shed fix it. I picked it up and wore it again. I noticed when I put it on that the stitching looked like an amateur did it.. It was dark blue and the bathing suit is periwinkle and white. I took it back again to see if they could make it look better (it was very obvious). By the way I paid $250 for this suit (Have never spent so much on a suit in my life). She told me there was nothing she could do to fix it. I was pretty surprised. She once again said I must have been doing heavy exercise in this suit and that this had never happened in her entire time in business. She also told me that I told her to make it tight when she was measuring me for alterations which I did not. Anyhow I didn't get angry. I just told her that Im an honest person and just wanted this made right. She said theres nothing she could do. I will not go back there again and I suggest you don't either. read more

Rating is zero. The owner is horrid. I was charged $50 more than originally quoted. The owner refused to credit the difference. Finally offered me a refund but with a $25. charge for fitting. There is a sign that sets a $25 fitting fee applied to purchase. I said I would purchase one bra and apply the fee. She refused. I will dispute it with American Express. I was welcomed by Jackie and Eileen and they immediately fixed me up with a well fitting and shapely bra..I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone in need of their services..I feel so much better about myself and love them for it ! read more

Thumbs down on this store. Owner is rude and I don't understand why she is still in business. As a specialty shop owner she should be caring about customer. I came in for a specific type of bra and the owner proceeded to show me 5 bras and told me I was too short waisted and have heavy breasts, repeatedly. Then her nice assistant told her she had a phone call and she went and had a loud chatty conversation for 15 min and left me. Her assistant tried to come and help after a while. I dressed and left with owner still chatting loudly ,not giving me the time of day. You know, when you walk in looking a bit shlumpy, and the immediate reaction of the salesperson (in this case both the owner and her sales associate) is one of complete dismissal - and an immediate explanation that there is a fee of $25.00 for a bra fitting?? We won't be going back to explain that not only did my cousin purchase in Beverly Hills and Manhattan - the same name (European) bras carried by Ruth, but they also don't charge a fee to bring merchandise into a fitting area for her to try on! What is THAT? And oh, by the way, I would define Professional Bra Fittings to be custom made bras - not those held in stock in the store. At least that's MY experience with custom Bra fittings...... I brought my wife here on trusting it was a privately owned shop passed on within the family. My wife was helped by a women Terry, she was awesome! However, we had problems with the two bras, which by the way are $78 each. I have no problem with the price as long as they fit and quality is there-it is NOT! When we returned because the bras did not fit correctly, no one was there that could properly handle it. They asked we return when Ruth, the owner was there. We came back, and Ruth was very defensive and said my wife's skin was sensitive. Really, my wife wears $16 Wal-Mart Bras that fit her perfectly and no pinching or tightness, must be these bras are skin sensitive free that the $78 bra cause. Ruth was not very pleasant with my wife, and seem rushed and almost insisted we take a refund. My wife just wanted to purchase two quality bras. My wife asked for the bra she was originally fit with - and the owner did not know what she was talking about-I guess she does not know her own product. Then the owner said to me, yeah, I seem to remember my staff saying there was a husband here too involved in the purchase of his wife's bras-right to my face, and no jester intended. I remained calm, and said, we have been married 45 years and we shop and do everything together, bra shopping included. When you charge these types of prices, you'd better supply the service and satisfaction- we did not get that. My wife left embarrassed, talked down to and shamed by this experience. My wife was rushed, not listened to and treated very rudely. I heard it all with my own ears, as did the other customers in the shop. We left with two new bras, but just to get out of there. Someone in a thrift shop will benefit from $152 worth of high end bras.". It's the last time we shop here! So sad! Oh, and when we traveled the following week my wife took the tags off one of the bras only to notice she was sold a bra for a "Post Mastectomy" bra-again, top notch customer service! The owner and her employee spent time attempting to find the right bra to meet my needs. I tried on several and finally decided to take one that I thought would be comfortable. I paid for the bra on my charge card, left the tickets on the bra and wore it while I drove about 8 miles to go home and determined that this bra would not work. I assumed that when I returned the bra, I'd get a refund, minus the $25.00 "fitting fee." However, the owner said they don't give refunds and instructed me to read the information on the bottom of the charge receipt stating that. I told her that on the day of purchase,I only glanced quicly at the receipt to ensure that the amounts were correct. I then asked her to show me where in the store there was any information stating that policy. She then reached up to a shelf behind the counter and turned a placard so it faced where a customer could see it. I explained that I never saw the placard when I made my purchase, was not verbally informed of that policy prior to presenting my charge card, and would not have knowingly bought anything that I couldn't return. She absolutely refused to refund my purchase amount and said I'd have to take a store credit. read more

Please don't every shop here, I honest don't know how she stays in business. The owner is rude, hateful and only in it for the money. She does not care about her customers. I had a bra for 6months now it was suppose to last up to 2 years and the wire broke which is a rare thing with these bras. I brought it back and asked is there anything we can do cause it was only half a year, the lady at the time working there said oh she could replace the wire. I left it called the next day to talk to Ruth and ask about it not only was I lied to she flat out said "what do you want me to do about it?" Who says that to a customer.... she said you can come get it if you want. I asked well is there anything we can do? She just said nope you broke it you got to buy a brand new one..... well I don't know about her but money doesn't grow on trees for me. i purchased two bras from this establishment a few weeks ago. one was full price and the other one was on their 1/2 price rack. the liner in the bra that was on sale disintegrated after a few hand washings. it was like there were small, hard cotton balls inside the bra. i phoned to find out what the procedure was for returning the bras. i stated i was willing to purchase another bra at full price, paying the difference for the returned bra. i was told that they would not be able to do anything for me. after the owner angrily stated her case, i began to speak....but they hung up on me in mid-sentence. i then phoned the manufacturer who asked the model number of the bra. i was told that they had not manufactured this bra in a very, very long time. the bra had been discontinued. they said the best they could do is offer me a $10 coupon on another purchase. so they were passing off old and faulty merchandise on some unsuspecting customer--me. i would never return to this shop for anything. the owner is rude and underhanded, in my opinion. read more
