Yesterday I got caught in the rain walking up Park Avenue in Rutherford NJ. So I ran for cover under this Big Red Awning which belonged to Rutherford Florist. As I stood there I took a look at the pretty fall window display. "So I decided to take some time " To smell the Roses" LOL When I enter the shop it seemed different, everything was pretty, fresh and clean. Then I met a lovely lady named Agnes, it seems she is the new owner. She is as sweet as can be just like her shop. So while it rained Cats and Dogs out side I felt like I had step in to a garden of fresh plants and OMG a great big selection of the prettiest flowers. She must have great designers being there were creative and fun fresh flower arrangements in the refrigerator. I am glad I for got my umbrella or I would have not walked into this shop. I hope my boyfriend POPS the question, I know now where I will be getting my wedding flowers. Note to my boyfriend I love when you send me flowers, so for now on go to this place. I'm sorry to say, but I don't know what the heck that previous loser Christopher W. is talking about. My family and I have been dealing with the same florist since it has been in business and that is Rutherford Florist. I have never had a negative experiene when dealing with Rutherford Florist and neither has anyone in my family. When I call the florist, the people on the phone are always extra courteous and are more than willing to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customers. There have been times when I have stopped in just to say hello and don't even buy anything. There is always a warm greeting from the beloved Gemma and she makes everyone feel at home. I have never seen a more efficient family run business in my entire life!! There is not one holiday or special occassion that goes by without me placing an order at this florist. The florist has a much better variety than other florists I have been in. Especially that one that finally closed at the corner! haha Keep up the GREAT work!! read more

Weird at first now I'm a loyal customer. The old man was a bit confrontational on my first visit, reminded me of the 'soup nazi' from Sienfield. I was just waiting for him to scream, "No flowers for you!" But my wife loves fresh flowers in the house and she raved about how long the flowers from here last compared to the other florists I've used. So... had to go back. The second time he was helpful & polite.... pleasant even. Feeling comfortable I asked, "What the problem was last time?" he simply said his days are long and he gets short when he feels overwhelmed. He introduced me to his son, who he is training to take over the business and he apologized. Honesty like that can only be appreciated. So, when I saw these reviews, searching for the store's hours of operation I had to add my two pence. The old man & son are good guys. My wife loves the flowers' longevity and arrangements. It's unfortunate that many people have a bad experience with the staff because the flowers (the reason why you people walked into the establishment in the first place) are AMAZING!!!! A boutique was deviled to my house on December 26th and I just threw them out today January 21st (I probably could have kept them for a few days longer but I hate to see them start to droop)... almost a MONTH these flower lasted!!! I could not believe it. I don't even write reviews on this site but I really felt I must because of the quality of these flowers. Not only did they last long but they were beautifully wrapped and put together. Considering the last two times I went to Poppies Florist, bought over priced flowers, and had them die on my by the end of the week... I will suck it up and deal with an attitude for the 5 minutes I'm in the store for these beautiful, long lasting flowers. Excellent, this business went above and beyond for my wife and I. We ordered wedding arrangements and center pieces. The owner was kind and explained exactly what he was going to do and how he would do it. I did not have to set one thing up nor did i move one finger for this all to happen. I showed up at his florist shop in rutherford and he was there waiting for us. Without any issue the flowers were delivered, beautiful and were set up exactly how he explained. Thats an A+ in my book. He also let my mom and grandparents take the centerpieces home with them. The ones that were not wanted were taken from the venue by the florist. Cant beat that. My grandma was so happy to keep one of the center pieces she will not stop talking about it lol. I did go to other florists in town and out of town but they just didnt spend the time with us like he did. And he took care of everything. I literally had nothing to worry about. read more

I would like to share my experience with Rutherford Florist. After my grandfather passed away in September my family entered the florist with no ideas as to what we would like to buy. The owner came over and sat with my family for close to 2 hours, He was able to paint a picture as to what we would receive and make my grandmother feel ease on probably the hardest day of her life. Since that day my family and friends have been using this florist. I find it very hard to believe what this Christopher W. is saying to be a fact considering the experiences I have had with this florist. Well I have alway had a pleasant experience with the owners of Rutherford florist, and I must say the flowers I order every holiday the center pieces are soooooo beautiful and they last so long that my mother commented on how well they stayed. I ordered dozens of Roses for a funeral white ones they were simply stunning that the woman took they home with her, she didnt want to leave them. I would highly recommend Rutherford florist to everyone, they are well worth the money and you well be a happy camper!!! As will the person you are sending them to!!! I got so many Thank yous!!! I shop at this conveniently located shop quite frequently. I find the staff and resident pooch Gemma to be the best. Sometimes I bring the kids just to visit with Gemma. I love shopping at Rutherford Florist because they always have such a large variety of things to choose from, whether it's green plants, a nice basket for my table, or a festive vase of flowers to send to a friend. I was driving through the stree and saw Rutherford Florist and thought of buying flowers for my birthday tomorrow. It was sudden, its wasn't preplanned. I like the shop and outside ambiance there.So I decided to drop by there to check out the place. To my surprise,this was one of the best place I ever visited, they have excellent varieties of fresh bouquet. I decided to buy one but later i end up buying too. All I can say is wow. Helpful and patient even during the mothers day rush. I'm very indecisive and after reading other reviews I was hesitant to come here but then I noticed OVER 20 other reviews had been removed all of which are nearly all great. After reading 2 reviews from new yelpers about how much better Poppies was it was clear to me something was going on. These guys were great even with my last minute pickup on mothers day. I had an amazing experience at Rutherford Florist when ordering my wedding flowers. I came into the store, kind of last minute, but my order was taken care of and then some. I had kind of a unique request for my bouquet but there was no problem at all taking care of it. I recently lost a very dear friend and went to Rutherford Florist to get a large shamrock floor display. It was beautiful! In fact, there was another shamrock arrangement at the wake but mine was so much better. Agnes did a great job! It not only had the shamrock but also white roses below it.
