The recent storm left debris in my yard and allowed multiple branches to come in contact with my roof. Branches were scraping the shingles and needed to be trimmed and removed. Ryan's Lawn and Tree service did a wonderful job of removing the tree branches from my roof and cleaning up and hauling away all debris from my yard. As a follow up to my original post, when I spoke with the lady in customer service on Tuesday about the billing issue, she told me she did not know why Mondays email said I had over paid and Tuesday email said I was delinquent on a bill for over 50 days, so she was going to forward my inquiry with a PRIORITY status to get an answer. Today is Friday and I still haven't heard from anyone. I hated to cancel my service since I had been with them about 15 years but I'm feeling better about it now. Share review Embed review Write an update Edit review 11/21/2019 I was absolutely displeased! I subbed Ryan's on an irrigation repair after our company put in a drainage system for one of my clients. The repair was under parr to begin with. They didn't use any junction boxes for the wiring junctions and up-charged my material almost 300%. My total bill for some wiring junctions, 200 ft of wire and two hours labor was over $700. Insane!!!!! If that was bad enough they sent the bill directly to my customer after being clearly told to bill my company. I finally got a bill and was shocked at the charge. I called my field tech and explained my situation. He made it clear not to pay that bill and he would get things straightened out and lowered. Months go by, they keep billing my customer I keep calling the office and my tech and it just gets worse. My customer finally threatens to take me to court and Ryan's finally gets their act together and mails me a somewhat more reasonable bill. We finally get our bill some 4 months later pay it and today I write the review. Awful service, bad communication and horrible rate! Very displeased. I'm already sharing the story with the other landscaper around. We won't use Ryan's again. read more

Had them trim two branches hanging over my neighbors porch. Discussed where I wanted them cut with Chris Schulze, gave me the bid of $200. Paid them in advance. Crew came out three weeks later and cut one branch off at the property line and left 1/2 the other branch still hanging over my neighbors porch. I Asked the foreman to check with Chris and was told I only paid for one branch to be removed and the other trimmed slightly. Why would I only have agreed to cut one branch when there was two hanging over the porch? Now for the bad part, they went to my neighbor and asked if he wanted to pay to have the same two limbs removed and my neighbor paid them $250 for the same work. My neighbor was having some work done by them at the same time. They thought they could get away with double billing for the same work. Again, they didn't even do what I paid them for. I had bids to remove the entire tree with the stump ground down for $500, they charged $450 to cut 1 1/2 branches. There are many other companies in Springfield that are honest and a lot cheaper. Please do yourself a favor and call and get 3-4 bids before you ask for a bid from Ryans. And don't pay them in advance, they will not do what they say they will. They act very nice until it is time to do the work. Please, Please watch out for these guys. read more

We recently hired Ryan Lawn & Tree to trim a tree that is right next to our house that was starting to be an issue as well as a large tree in our backyard that had several dead limbs needing removal, some probably dating back to the ice storm in 2007. They came out and met my wife to do the work but did not complete the work to my satisfaction so we had them come back. I took pictures and noted on the photos what needed to be completed. My wife met them again to do the work. When I arrived home, the work was still not completed to my satisfaction. They came out a third time and this time I met them and they didn't leave until the work was completed. It is not often that a company will make three trips to satisfy their customers, it is much appreciated. read more

This company charged 1500.00 to cut down a tree that they said couldn't be saved. Not sure that was entirely true. Then they couldn't take the stump out due to gas lines too close, something they might have checked before saying they could do this. Paid them around another thousand to bring in fill dirt to put around stump and build yard up around it. Not sure why but then we paid them another 450.00 to put mulch around plants in front. About a 12' stretch. We thought they would line the ground first to keep weeds out, but they didn't. We could have bought the amount of mulch they placed for around 100.00. Neighbor just had a truck load of mulch delivered that was about 4' deep and covered almost half of of their double driveway and only paid 350 to some other company. I would not suggest this company to ANYONE as they seem to be way overpriced and don't do a very good job. We initially wanted to save the tree they cut but they said it was split all the way through and there was danger of it falling onto our roof if not cut immediately. After they cut it, we saw it definitely was NOT split all the way across and they could have saved it, but they make more $$$ cutting it. What a crap company, run the other way of you see their red trucks in your neighborhood! We sure wish we had!!! read more

A 60' tree in my neighbor's yard has never been trimmed and was there prior to the subdivision being built and I have lived here 15 years. It was very intrusive into our yard and Ryan Lawn & Tree did the cutting and trimming work last Thursday to remove the extensive growth which took a whole crew of cutters that climbed around like monkeys to do everything. Did an excellent job and there is no way anything can fall on our roof anymore. I highly recommend them. read more

My renters called early Friday morning after a bad storm and said a huge tree from the front yard had fell on the front of the house. Luckily, no one was hurt but the roof was severely damaged. I proceeded to start calling tree removal services, to no avail. It was Friday before July 4th weekend, and nobody seemed to want to help me until after the holiday. The weather forecast was calling for rain, and I didn't want further damage inside the house (two large holes in the roof). I started asking around at work for any suggestions. A co-worker suggested Ryan Lawn & Tree. I called them and very quickly she said "I'll get Chris on it". Within an hour or so, he called back with an estimate and told me he'd have a crew out that day. The tree was removed, and all debris cleaned up before the end of the day.
