First I couldn't get through to anyone when I called. The receptionist or person who answered sent me to quotes dept like 5 times and no one would answer. They blamed it on "high volume" of customers or whatever. But how do you not have a process to respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner? I can't wait 2 weeks to get a damn quote. I'll just go somewhere else. The person in quotes dept Sheryl was rude and had terrible customer service. She made up excuses about why they couldn't get back to me in time. I filled out their form online explaining what I wanted in my policy and a little of my situation. First I got this rude email (I think she wrote it) telling me they didn't want to talk to me and couldn't write me a policy. The email was short with very little explanation why. Then when I called AGAIN for the 6th time to finally get SOMEONE to talk to me, Sheryl rudely just refused to talk or listen to me, kept repeating over and over how they couldn't write me a policy and basically told me to go away. No solutions, no help, no suggestions on how to fix my situation. Look if you can't write me a policy, fine. I get it. But don't leave a customer twisting in the wind. At least take the time to answer my questions and give me suggestions on where I CAN get help. It's basic decency and politeness. Be warned everyone! Customer service at this place has gone very downhill recently. You're better off going elsewhere!

Who you work with matters…read more In August of 2024, I received a letter from my home owners insurance stating that one of my policies would be canceled on December 14th. I sent the notice to my insurance broker, whom I had used for years, and they told me they would be taking care of it as time got closer. After Thanksgiving, I contacted my broker to check in on how my new policy was coming along. They said everything was fine and sent me a policy. At the time of binding, they discovered they had been shopping for insurance for an address that is not mine and told me they had no other options for me I was panicking! I called Jeremy and Jessica Connally with Farmers insurance in Monterey. They immediately went to work (on a Friday night!) One of the issues they ran into with insuring my property was that I had to file three claims in 2023. Two of which were trees that had fallen on a rental during the storms and a burst water in another unit. I was basically uninsurable and was likely going to have to be covered under the California Fair Plan. However, Jeremy, Jessica, and their whole team spent an immense amount of time looking at every option for me. On Monday, December 11th, they had found me a policy and were able to bind coverage with just three days to spare before my insurance lapsed! I am so lucky to have been able to get to know Jessica and Jeremy professionally over the past two years because if I hadn't, this situation would have turned out a lot differently. With the way homeowners insurance is in CA right now, it absolutely matters who you work with. I promise you that these are the people that you need to be working with to give your clients, friends, and yourself the peace of mind you need in this crazy climate us Californians now find ourselves in. UPDATE: Since this experience above, they have assisted in insuring my another home of mine, my commercial auto policy, and workers comp for my business as well.
