I read through all of the reviews and was very surprised at the many which were listed as 'not…read morerecommended' as they were excellent! So let me share my personal experience with you. I was referred to Dr. MaiAn Vu by a friend who, like me, is a chicken when it comes to going to the dentist. She said, "you will love her", and my friend was right. Although I live in the Saratoga Springs area, I had an emergency and needed to go to the Chauvin Family Dentistry's Clifton Park office because they were open that day. That's where I met an "Angel", Ellen, who is (or was the last time I was there) the receptionist in their Clifton Park office. This was during a very bad time in my life when I was going through some serious financial struggles (my husband - now ex - disappeared one day and left me with a stack of overdue, unpaid bills and no money). Ellen was compassionate and understanding. She worked it out so that I could pay the bill off a bit each month without shame. The overall care that I received was outstanding. I wish that I could have continued to go to the Clifton Park office but their practice was not on my medical plan's approved list. Unfortunately, paying out of pocket for routine cleaning and x-rays was not an option. Even though I had been going to a dentist closer to home (and on my program) for periodic check-ups and cleanings, when I needed a crown I went to Dr. Vu and to Ellen's office. I paid out of pocket because crowns were not covered in my dental plan (they just want to pull your teeth!). Because they are THAT GOOD! I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Vu and Ellen. Unfortunately, once again, their practice is not on my fiance's dental plan's approved list, which is really a bummer.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but my experience with Aspen Dental deserves to be shared…read moreso others can avoid what I went through. After my primary dentist's office closed, I called Aspen Dental on a Friday morning because I was in severe pain from an infected wisdom tooth (swollen face, jaw pain, and unable to eat). The person on the phone assured me they could see me first thing Monday and that if it was wisdom tooth related, someone on-site could remove it or have their oral surgeon handle it that week. When I arrived 20 minutes early as instructed, they had no record of my appointment and claimed they canceled it because I "never provided insurance info." That was completely false as I had already done so over the phone, and I even showed them the call logs proving it. Instead of apologizing or fixing their mistake, the front desk staff told me there was "nothing they could do" and acted like it was my fault. After some back and forth, they finally agreed to see me that day. They took X-rays, and the dentist told me I needed all four wisdom teeth removed under full anesthesia, plus "gum treatments" and other procedures that would bring the total to over $4,700. Nearly $1,000 of that quote was just for deep sedation, supposedly keeping me under for more than 45 minutes. For comparison, when I went to another local dentist afterward, the entire procedure to remove two of my wisdom teeth took under 15 minutes total, start to finish, with no need for that level of sedation. It was clear Aspen Dental was pushing unnecessary procedures and trying to upsell me on things that weren't urgent or even needed. I decided to leave and get a second opinion, and I'm so glad I did. The new dentist saw me the same day, confirmed that only two teeth needed to come out, and that none were impacted. To make matters worse, the Aspen dentist's son is the oral surgeon who would have performed the procedure, which makes the hard sell feel even more unethical. I never needed an oral surgeon! Since then, I've spoken with several locals who shared similar experiences of being over-quoted, misled, and pressured into unnecessary dental work. Many also said that Aspen Dental doesn't take insurance for certain procedures and instead pressures patients to apply for high-interest loans or CareCredit on the spot to cover the inflated quotes. It's a clear pattern of taking advantage of people, especially those in pain or under stress. If you're in pain or just need honest dental care, go literally anywhere else. Aspen Dental is predatory, overpriced, and dishonest, and they do not prioritize patient care or integrity in the slightest.

I recently had an examination done here by Dr Ana, the procedure was done with great care. I also…read morescheduled my appointment with William, who was very warm, friendly, and helpful. I will be making this my usual place for my check ups for sure!

My husband and I called several local dentists looking for someone who accepts Delta Dental and My Saratoga Dentist said they did. I said, "Great because I do not want to go somewhere I have to pay out of pocket and then get reimbursed or anything." And they said, "No we accept your insurance, we don't do that." Then when we got to the appointment, they said that they never said that but its ok because our insurance would cover everything but we would have to pay in full first and get reimbursed by insurance. I told them I would be very angry if I didn't get everything back and they said it would be fine. They even upsold us that we needed to get x-rays done. I again said I do not want them if it is not covered and they said it was covered. We paid hundreds of dollars out of pocket, less than half was reimbursed by insurance. When I reached out to them to let them know how inappropriate this was, they told me that this hasn't happened before (see other 3 comments in the last 7 months). Then they told me that they would talk to their office staff about the issue but in the same exchange encouraged me to contact my insurance company to ask if they could pay more, seeing as there were no providers that accepted delta dental. As an FYI for anyone with Delta Dental, there are several providers that are in network in the area, so this is incorrect. They then told me that what my insurance reimbursed is not enough for them to keep their doors open, so they need to charge more. I work with peoples insurances daily, this was inappropriate.

He had completed all my dental work in the early-mid-2000s when I desperately needed it. I did not get any dental care as a child and was never taught how to properly care for my teeth so I've had a lot of dental work, root canals, crowns, a bridge, orthodontics, etc. I decided to stay and meet the new dentist and I could not be happier. Dr. Juracka is amazing; he is extremely gentle, he's very kind and I'm happy to have him as my dentist. His work is beautiful and he completes the work painlessly. My bridge needs replacing after about twenty years. I am a bit scared of having it removed but I have every faith in this dentist and his work. Kym and Kim are both wonderful! The cleanings I get here are quick and painless. I have gotten my oral hygiene habits down pat; my gums are healthy and I do not need scraping when I get my teeth cleaned. Not scared to get a cleaning anymore. Diana at the front office is also wonderful. She's friendly, remembers your name and asks about things in your life. She helps make you comfortable from the moment you walk into the office. I highly recommend this practice. Especially if you're scared of the dentist, this is the practice for you. They are truly warm, caring and kind. They will do everything they can to ensure your comfort. The dental work you receive here is absolutely world class, top notch perfection.

This review has been a decade in the making to warn everyone who decides to become a patient of…read moreGlenn parks. For starters I was a patient of Dr Sullivans before he retired and sold the practice to dr park. Figuring it would just be easier to stay with the practice I then became a patient of Dr. parks. The practice was ran far differently from that of Dr. Sullivans. At first I was very pleased with Dr park and then throughout the years he's gotten progressively worse in my opinion. From 2011-2015 I really wasn't seeing the dentist for regular cleanings and that was my fault but in 2015 I went in for a regular cleaning. I was DENIED the cleaning and told I was to have my wisdom teeth removed first. Well I had my wisdoms removed and than lost my dental insurance so I was not able to go back for a routine cleaning. I hadn't seen a dentist from 2015-2025. Again my fault but in July of 2024 I finally obtained dental insurance again and decided to make myself an appt with Dr parks office again as a patient. I made the appt in July of 2024. I explained to them that I was experiencing pain and really needed to be seen due to the state my teeth were in at that time in. The best they could do for me was January 2025. In the meantime I looked around for other dentist accepting new patients, unfortunately there were none. I sat in pain for 6 months waiting for my appt because his receptionist brushed my concerns under the rug and pretty much told me "that's the best I can do." Your website states emergency appts available, but how is taking advil everyday for tooth pain not an emergency? By the time I was seen I was taking advil every 4-6 hours on the dot and I had an exposed gum. Again not a single person in that office seen it as an emergency as I was given a referral to several different places booking months out. I will say the only person that I seen as compassionate during my 2 appts was Lauren when she attempted to do my cleaning. She was so sweet and actually felt bad that I was in pain. She wasn't able to complete my cleaning because at that point my teeth were to sensitive which Dr park himself witnessed and was aware of. He booked me out a month to take care of the 8 cavities I had currently had at that point. He chose to do them 3 at a time with no plan of action on how to help the severe sensitivity. In between appts I opted to have the problematic tooth that caused me pain extracted. Again made the appt for that problematic tooth in July of 2024, if it was seen at that time I probably would still have that tooth today. A week after having that tooth extracted I went in to really have him look at the extraction site which WAS infected at that point and he said nothing about it and did nothing about it. I ended up having to be placed on another round of antibiotics to treat the infection I walked into his office with. He was also supposed to do three fillings that day and from the moment I walked into his office I was having extreme anxiety. I remember filling out the new patient paperwork and checking that I needed a presedate for appts. They DONT offer that so why put that on your paperwork if that's not something you actually offer. So when I'm sitting in the chair the dental assistant hits me with the suction tool and I felt the pain shoot through my mouth (remember I have sensitive teeth and was given no plan of action on how to correct the issue.) the sound of the drill and the pain from that sent me over the edge and I ended up crying from the severe anxiety I was having at this point. Dr park essentially booted me from the chair as his dental assistant was taunting me from behind him claiming I was yelling at her and she didn't feel comfortable having me as a patient. I left the office in tears as he tried yet again to hand me another referral to somewhere else. I used to think Dr park was nice until I seen him lack compassion for his patients and allow his staff to treat his patients the way they do. His bedside manner for anxiety ridden patients is absolutely horrendous. He offers nothing to help calm his patients down. He did end up sending me paperwork in the mail releasing me as a patient. I allowed the paperwork to be sent back to him after the trauma I endured in his office I knew I was never going to go back. I found myself a new dentist who was everything Dr park wasn't. During the appt with my new dentist more problems were found that Dr park was not able to pinpoint because of his outdated equipment. Beware this practice, you may be denied basic care, lose teeth because problems aren't addressed in a timely manner, be mistreated by his staff, or worse walk out with even worse anxiety than you already had. Learn from my mistakes and walk away after the first time your neglected.

My ex-wife brought my son in to have two cavities filled, when they were all done, they told her they put the white fillings in (back teeth, can't be seen), without consulting her first. Anyone that knows dental insurance, knows these are typically not covered, but they said don't worry, they will be. when questioned, she was told that's just how we do things?!?! Well, needless to say, they are not covered, we now have a much larger bill then the silver fillings would've been, and, because this has gone on for so long without a resolution, they have sent it to collections! Here's a thought...How about asking first before you spend other peoples money with no regard to their financial status? and how about just admitting you were wrong for not getting permission FIRST before doing what you want to do? what a concept. Horrible customer service!! He did have another appointment for a cleaning next week, I already cancelled that, I'll find another more patient oriented dentist for him. P.S.... they really didn't seem to care that we were leaving the practice, that's both my sons and my ex-wife. If I didn't have to give them one star, I would not do that either.
