After searching…read morearound Jacksonville for a landscaping company and interviewing a few to install sod in my backyard, I came across Southwest Landscaping. I contacted Brad, the owner to come out and give an estimate. He was at my house the next morning, very knowledgable about the preparation, different types of grasses, maintance and the installation process. Why we made the decision to go with Southwest over the other companies, is that Southwest wasn't going to take down part of our fence to install sod or charge us an insane amount to till the yard when neither was necessary. Brad said our walk through gates were just fine and they could complete the job without taking any part of our fence down or making us install a drive through gate. After giving the go ahead, he and his crew were here that following evening prepping our yard and back the next morning installing sod. His crew completed our yard in a day and were very professional. We are very pleased with the completed work and would hire Southwest Landscaping again if we ever needed any work done and have already recommend the company to all my neighbors and friends.

I put in a call to him because he never told us how frequently to water the sod or when we could mow it....no call back. Seems to be desperate looking for money.

The owner, Jason McBride did a good job for me every time he came to my house. However, his honesty and his work ethics are questionable. He shows up late and doesn't inform if he is running late (I had to call him to find out). He accepts PayPal but then he wants rather insists that he be added as a "friend" so as to not incur fees which I had no idea about, but I complied with his request. He expects you to respect his time, but he doesn't have to respect yours. Whenever he has an appointment it's ok and it should be fine for him to live his life and have appointments like everybody else. However, when I informed him the night before I needed him to come as soon as possible for our appointment (because I too have other things to do) he decided just to cancel the job. The simple solution would have been to reschedule me, but he quit to be spiteful for no reason.
