Unfortunately, as soon as I opened the package, I discovered that the chronograph was not functioning properly and all three subdials were out of sync. I assumed I would have to ship the watch to a specialist outside Fresno for repair. I had recently noticed Sergio's Jewelry & Repair online and saw that they also serviced watches. Since the shop is close to my home, I decided to stop by and see what they could do. To my surprise, Sergio was very knowledgeable about vintage Seiko watches and even had replacement parts available in the shop. He performed a complete service quickly, and now this vintage Seiko is running like new. I could not be happier with the result. Everyone in the shop was kind and welcoming. There was no pressure or attempt to sell me anything I did not need, just genuine enthusiasm for watches and excellent customer service. To diagnose the problem it took about 15 min max. Most of the work was already done as part of the diagnostic and all that needed to be done was to clip on the new igniter for the oven. I looked up the part and not even the OEM part was that high of a cost. I didn't quite see the value of the diagnosis or the quote. Once I declined the quote demeanor changed a bit. Didn't find the quote to be fair and I was not satisfied with the result. Now I gotta replace it myself, I'm not paying for another 15 min diagnosis. UPDATE: I replaced the igniter myself. Literally took me about 10 mins to replace. All I had to do was clip the new one in. A YouTube video saved me hundreds. Some of these repairmen overvalue their expertise I guess. Glad I didn't pay the outrageous price for such a simple job especially since I knew what the problem was be before the diagnosis.

Thankfully he had the part with him and fixed it. By 12:30 I had a working dryer. It was a reasonable amount for labor and parts, $272. I have a dryer vent that leads to the roof and the potential of a clogged vent is high, so he recommended I have my vent cleaned professionally every 2 years. I had this task on my to-do list but kept putting it off and it burned my heating unit. Totally preventable‍. As my mom said, "that's what you get"!
