I returned after they left a few days later and saw that one walls was not painted, there were spots that were missed, and they hadn't taped around certain areas (like light switch panels), as the paint didn't match, and it looked a bit messy. I then had to coordinate another time for someone to come back--understandably not an ideal situation for both parties!

Boom - their flooring guy is there the next day fixing the bad floor planks at the same hourly rate. They seem to have a large roster of motivated workers that show up on time and do the job to spec. I've had trouble with crews not showing or not finishing the job over the years - but not with Amador's. I was told long ago by family to never hire contractors on an hourly basis because costs can spiral. And before I knew what I was doing as a homeowner I might've been inclined to follow this advice. But Amador's charges a reasonable rate and works with efficiency - so this is how I work with them. I even trust them to let other workers into the house and report on their work. A lot of this comes down to whoever your point of contact is. On the most recent job, that's been Leo, and he is exceptional: attentive to detail, diligent, organized. No one ever contacted me. I called twice again in late April. First time no one picked up the phone or responded to my voicemail. Three days later I called again and the receptionist would not connect me directly to the estimator so several phone calls were exchanged. In the end, only 1 appointment time was offered to me 9:30am and I asked to move it earlier to 9am since there were no appointments before me and I needed to attend a 10am work meeting. I was told nope. I gave up because it's hard to work with inflexible unresponsive people.
