My experience with Genuine Drywall is similar to others. Mr. Singh, Omar and Juan went far beyond the scope of work to deliver outstanding results. My project included four bedrooms and the adjacent hallways. I originally hired a recommended drywall contractor to replace the existing drywall on several walls, fix nail pops in the ceiling, skim coat everything and retexture. After four days of poor and sloppy work, I let go the original contractor and hired Mr. Singh. The quality of work was excellent. My original contractor re-screwed the ceiling at each nail pop. Mr. Singh's team re-screwed the entire ceiling along each joist and re-taped each inside corner. Extra layers of mud were added to flatten wavy wall sections. Two months ago, I kicked off a project (much to my wife's chagrin) to finish our garage and adjacent workshop area, to turn it from more of a contractor's storage area to somewhere a little more modern and less dusty. After figuring out that we needed to tape and mud the existing drywall (which just had basic fire tape), I set about talking to contractors. I left a voicemail with Genuine Drywall amongst others, and was pleased when they followed up with me a few days later. Scheduling an in-person visit took a little bit of time but Singh followed up promptly with a clear and reasonable quote via email. It took me a month or so to get the work scheduled as a i figured out exactly what the right order of events was (electrical first, then drywall, then painting, then flooring!) and had some electrical work completed. Singh also answered some of the more basic questions I had, and provided an insightful recommendation about which texture to use. I appreciate that he was very patient and when I was finally ready to schedule, he put us in his backlog and kept in touch with the projected start date. For people who haven't done drywall work before, there is usually a 2-3 day drying time between layers of mud. This mean that they ended up visiting four times over a period of just over a week. Singh was very communicative, texting me their expected next date, and reminding me to open the relevant doors to improve the drying time in between visits! He and his crew covered almost every square inch of our floor and electrical fixtures to prevent any unnecessary mess. They also wore masks throughout and were very courteous and friendly. I'm SO glad I went with Genuine Drywall! For context, we just had electric done in our home and an old AC wall unit knocked out, which left a ton of unsightly holes in ALL of our walls. I've worked with drywall before and understand how difficult it is to make it look seamless, so it was especially important to me to find a professional who could (tl;dr they can and they did). Gursharan was very responsive to my request and quick to come over with quotes and setting up an appointment. When here, he and his crew were great with covering up our furnitures and floors and were meticulous about covering each hole and matching the textures to our existing walls. After the crew was done, Gursharan made sure to walk us through each patch to make sure we were happy with the results. While I will admit that the texture is not 100%, you wouldn't be able to see it unless you were looking for it. Most importantly, you wouldn't be able to tell there was a hole there even if you tried! Highly recommend this absolutely outstanding contractor. Singh (the owner) worked with us throughout the process and provided helpful information and regular communication to get the job completed. Very high quality of workmanship and reasonable prices too. We have a shared wall with our neighbor who likes to play the TV loud so they can hear it (they are a little hard of hearing due to age). We love our neighbor, but the noise was driving my wife nuts. I contacted Singh to request a quote for the 19-foot shared wall. He explained that they don't normally do a lot of soundproofing, but they had experience with installing the materials. If I purchased the materials, they would do the install. The quote was lower than any of the other soundproofing and drywall contractors I contacted, including the cost of materials. Singh knew exactly what materials to purchase for the somewhat elaborate install I was requesting. He walked me through each phase and provided great communication. We hired Singh and his crew (Omar and Juan) to complete the following installation: 1. Extra dense mineral wool insulation 2. Two layers of mass loaded vinyl 3. Sound clips and hat channels to decouple the drywall from the studs. 4. Two layers of 5/8s drywall sandwiched with Green Glue between them, and then sealed with Green Sealant (acoustic sealant). Singh, Omar, and Juan had the job 95% completed by the end of the first day and only left taping and texturing for the next day. Even though they worked very quickly, the quality of workmanship was first rate. They also were careful to protect our furniture, floor, and other walls while doing the install. They communicated with me throughout the day and ensured I was happy with each phase before moving to the next. It has been 4 days since the installation and we haven't heard our neighbor since the wall was completed. I could go on and on with complimentary details, but you get the idea. This is not your average contractor. We have been extremely happy with the construction. If you are renovating and need drywall and/or soundproofing services, give Genuine Drywall Contractors a call. The plaster ceiling in my living room had many cracks which were becoming unsightly. Additionally, I needed a doorway to be finished from a previous job that had not been completed. I called Genuine Drywall Contractors to see if they might be able to install 1/4" drywall to cover the cracks. Singh responded right away. I sent him pictures of my living room and provided the dimensions. He was able to provide an estimate immediately. What was even more surprising, he told me that he was able to begin work the next week. We had a very challenging job, but Signh and his team went above and beyond. Our basement had exposed beams on the walls and ceiling, and we wanted to put in insulation and drywall to cover it up, make it look nice and insulate the house. I put the wool insulation in myself, but the drywall was going to be so complicated that I knew I had to hire professionals. There were heating ducts and water pipes criss-crossing the ceiling, the furnace was blocking part of the ceiling, and there was seismic bracing and laundry pipes all over the walls. The walls themselves weren't even level (our house is on a hill so the basement slopes downward)! To top it all off, the top of the door was flush with the ceiling, leaving no space for drywall above it, which meant that the area above the door would have to somehow look different. A previous contractor came and looked at it and didn't even bother giving me a quote. But Singh came out twice to measure things and said he and his team could handle it. But he was very up front about how complicated it would be. He even tried to save me money by suggesting we do a basic finish (commonly used for basements and garages), but we wanted the more perfect finish (used for interiors), and he accommodated. He was flexible with our limited schedule and his team came in and finished everything in a day and a half. They problem-solved every issue and managed to cover everything, even the space above the door (they quite creatively put pieces of drywall in-between and flush with the studs, and mudded over it)! Our basement now looks better than ever. Singh calls it an "imperfect" finish, but it looks super flat and uniform to me. They even covered more of the ceiling and walls than I expected them to! Omar and Juan were also super friendly and communicative. Just fantastic all around. Singh was a consummate professional and I could tell he and his team take great pride in their work.
