Review #471 - First To Tip (11/20/2023)…read more April 30, 2024 = Tuesday After moving in My new House in September 1992, there was a Stinky Smelly Bradford Pear tree it was called that was showing signs of distress with bugs on the bark and branches. I called Mike after viewing his detailed advertisement in a home improvement business magazine. I was pleased when he checked it over and gave me a good estimate price to remove the tree on my front lawn property that had a bug disease and was not treatable. His crew completed the tree removal along with stump grind. They cleaned up in a professional and through way. History: This Tree Business started back in 1978 after Mike worked for Detroit Edison trimming trees. Since 1989 till the Fall of 2023 there's been a 35 year old Silver Maple Tree in the backyard of another house which now is empty. In the past years the tree has grown Tall and over grown with roots under the fence into my yard (besides two other neighbors) I offered to trim or removal the whole tree price not an option back in 2004 but the previous neighbors owning the tree on the easement said no. A radius of four residential houses still deals with Spring, Summer and Fall Issues because of this old tree. A family of squirrels lives in a rotted area in the lower section of it too now. In the Summer of 2023 I contacted the Macomb Township Offices and had a representative come out to My home to look, inspect and give Me an option on this tree causing problems in my yard and pool liner. He could only assist by suggesting to remove the sections that are hanging over in my yard of my property and of course the pool. I called Mike as a previous customer and he stopped over with a good price including clean up and shredding the thick and other branches after trim. The crew of 6 guys arrived on time in the brisk cold temp before Thanksgiving to get the job done. They were careful, efficient, and organized from start to finish with cleanup in two yards too. Time will tell when the pool is open May 10th and when Summer arrives to hope that more Sun will shine more in My pool instead of being in the shade 3 hours covering from the old Silver Maple Tree. Also In a rain and wind storm this tree will bend plus if ice forms in the winter. I'm still worried about My house and if this tree comes down due to weather conditions! I must say, we tasked Greenline with quite a project of grooming a mess that we acquired in our…read morebackyard property line when we moved in. We weren't sure what to expect, but the results were definitely above and beyond what we expected! The process began with a relatively simple and information walkthrough. Prices were not given at the time, but realistic "challenges" were explained to us. In our case it was leftover rock disposal, removal of a shrub, and the potential of uncovering any other surprises while digging and leveling. A walkthrough was completed by a manager/owner(?) and one of the crew members. We were scheduled for a time frame, between 2 and 4 days. On day one it was kind of odd when they arrived because for one, it was around 230pm when they arrived to start. Also, we came to find out that only 1 person was going to be working on the project. It seemed like an incredible amount of work for one person, so we were skeptical. We were working from home throughout this process, so we were able to go take peeks of the progress. The first picture in the collage I attached, easily took the entire first and second day due to the mess and surprise old pond setup. This one guy, with his pick-axe, just kept chugging away at the mess and ripping it up. The truck had to drive away multiple times to dump off the debris, especially the big bush we had ripped out with their Dingo stumper remover. When it was all said and done, they laid down some hay barrier, as you can see in any of the right side photos I attached, to cover the dirt and hopefully prevent anything from sprouting up in the remaining portion of fall. Pros: -very efficient and removed EVERYTHING we asked -great price, was a couple hundred under the quote we were given even though it was more work than expected -excluding day 1, he started around 9 or 10am, took a break for lunch and finished around 6pm -no mess left behind Cons: -left tools and equipment behind overnight and throughout a weekend that he didn't work. Didn't enjoy the liability of someone seeing it and walking up and taking it if they wanted to. Thank you Greenline for everything you did for our backyard foliage renovation! They started when they said they would start and finished when they said they would be finished (sometimes extenuating circumstances can change the timeline and we would have been understanding).
