i ordered 90 rat poison pasta sachets as advertised but received only 15. On looking at my order it does say 15 but shows 6 packets so i thought 6 packets x 15 sachets = 90 sachets as advertised. It is misleading and false advertising. read more

Very useful places, in other words. The goods are very cheap indeed, although with at least two other, similar shops on King St, it is probably worth shopping around if you're on a very tight budget. Absolutely the best thing about this shop is the sign in the window which says We sell boxes for cake. I would really like to try offering them a cake in exchange for a box someday, but I don't know if they'd see the funny side.

Surprise, Surprise! My key would not open the door, I struggled for about 15 minutes before I decided it was time to call someone. My first attempt was this hardware store, which surprised me as it has a quite a lot to offer in such tiny premises. I think the seller saw my angst because his first question was; 'are you o.k?' I nodded. I explained the situation and he said it would cost me about £80 to have the door opened, I couldn't believe my ears! Apparently weekend rates are even worse... I felt he really wanted to help me, but when I thought of my second idea (to ring the estate agents, hopefully they were open and had a key), I said; 'thank you but that is too much' and then he responded by saying that if left it for longer it would be too late, as the locksmith might go on another job. As he finished with his sentence I felt as if he was giving an ultimatum, now or never! I didn't like that so I left. He did however, offered to file my key which could have helped (it didn't, but he did that for free). Fortunately, my second idea turned out to be the best idea (read the review for Dexters to find out how this story unravelled)

In my last delivery, unfortunately one of the items was broken ( probably by the couriers) , I called and was asked to send a photo of the broken item. No quibbles, no having to pack it up and send it back - I shop all the time on the internet - and have to say this is really first class ! couldn't recommend them highly enough. The initial order comprised several parts that were packaged well and clearly marked and enclosing straightforward instructions (not always the case with many companies). It pleasantly arrived at 10pm on Tuesday morning and I had the shelving unit assembled and baskets filled by noon. My bathroom looks amazing. I will undoubtedly use the Holding Company again and will recommend them to all my family and friends.

I noticed quality issues like uneven scratched polish and uneven sanding, dust particles embedded in the lacquer, as well as cost cutting measures to reduce amount of brass used - thin brass casting, etc. The return was rejected claiming that these are not stock items and hence non-refundable. I was asking for a better quality item and their sales rep attempted to sell me another such handles with even a higher price - almost double the price. At that point I felt that I was being ripped off and started researching where these items are coming from. These are 20 quid handles, standard stock items: Carlisle Brass Victorian Scroll Door Handle that go around $12-40 USD, hence the quality. The boldest operation of all is that the sales rep from A&H Brass attempted to sell another such item to me claiming it is better quality and "weightier feel". In my opinion A&H is engaged in unethical rip-off practices and should be avoided.
