I was part of the beauty school program at the Lake Forest location, and my experience there completely changed how I felt about pursuing this career. I enrolled excited and motivated, but over time that excitement turned into frustration and disappointment. The program did not teach me everything I needed to feel prepared or confident. The first five weeks are when students receive most of their structured instruction and hands-on guidance. After that period, it felt like we were largely left on our own with minimal support. If you struggled with something or needed extra clarification, you were often made to feel like you were inconveniencing the instructors rather than being supported as a student. The environment became discouraging very quickly. I stopped looking forward to going to school after the first few months. Instead of feeling like a place where students could grow and build skills, it felt stressful and uncomfortable. Many of the instructors were disrespectful in the way they spoke to students. The tone often felt condescending, and students were treated more like children in elementary school rather than adults paying for a professional education. The instructor Ms. Aisha would target me and a certain group of girls who sat in front of her every day. We have all had problems with this specific instructor. Whether it would be her just bullying us or her actions made specifically towards my group of friends. We would always get in trouble for things other students would be doing also but we were the only ones to get in trouble. There has been multiple incidents where this instructor would put her hands on my friends shoving them to their seat and also getting in their faces. The owner Ms. Tammy would never support us and only her instructors. She would never sit there and listen to our side of the story and only listen to what Ms. Aisha would say about us, causing us to get written up etc. Rules would suddenly change depending on the day or the instructor's mood, which made it hard to understand expectations. There was a constant feeling of walking on eggshells. The attendance policy and penalties were also extremely strict. While I understand the importance of showing up, the consequences for missing school - even for legitimate reasons - felt excessive and added even more stress to it. It also felt like certain students were singled out or treated differently, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere and favoritism among the class. Instead of fostering teamwork and encouragement, it often felt divided and discouraging. Overall, my experience at this location made me question whether this was the right path for me -- not because I lack passion for the beauty industry, but because the learning environment did not support growth, confidence, or professionalism. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this school to thoroughly research other options and speak to former students before enrolling. I made a same day appointment for a haircut. Checking in was a breeze, everyone was very friendly and the students were so conscientious with their work. The supervisor, Miss Donna, was always present and checking the student's work and giving them advice discreetly. The three stars are for Roya who did my hair and did an amazing job! She has an amazing personality and takes care of her clients and listens to customer needs. I love the products Roya uses and her technique. She definitely knows what she's doing . Miss Zara, however, overcharged me at the counter and wouldn't explain the break down! I only got a shampoo and blow dry and was charged $35 for my hair that is very fine and 12inches long. The students laugh and have fun, the instructors look in and check the students work and demonstrate the proper way to do something. I had a sweetheart of a student working on me, she was just a doll. She took her time and did a first rate job. The second student who worked on me did a first rate job also, and she was just as nice. Don't hesitate to book services here. The pricing is very good, but remember that students are working on you so the services may not be as speedy as they are in your regular salon. Plan to be in the school/salon for a while. Also, don't forget to tip the students and tip generously. These gals and guys are going to school and probably work a part-time job also. I went in for a haircut and keratin chemical treatment and was warmly greeted by Yaremy and Andrea. Both ladies didn't waste any time. They quickly prepped my hair with clarifying shampoo (best head massage), then meticulously treated my hair with keratin. This process is long (as I expected), but the results were fabulous! Today was my 4rd visit to Saba. As always I called and asked how much for a men's hair cut. I was told it's $7.00 on Tuesdays and Saturdays ( I have been paying this for the last two visits) I showed up got a hair cut from a nice young gentleman "Justin" When I got the the register the Older Asian lady showed up and said it's $15. I told her I called and was told $7.00 she said "on now that was. Long time ago" I told her I have been her twice before in the last 60 days. And that I had called earlier today too and was told it was $7 She said May be it was a student who made a mistake and that its hasn't been $7 for a long time.. I took my daughter in to enroll her into Cosmetology night class.Dealing with enrollment at the local college was next to impossible dealing with online.I highly suggest going in.If we had known this before,It would have saved a lot of time and confusion.My daughter missed the orientation due to the extremely complicated enrollment process.So do yourselves a favor and go into the Saddleback location.The staff were actually very helpful.If it had not been for my daughter choosing night class schedule,She would not have gotten in,as the daytime class was already full.We were very relieved and my daughter is very happy to be starting her training in a week. The Saba beauty administrator was very helpful and courteous and explained everything thoroughly.This is going to be a good fit for my daughter.I am a hairstylist with 30 yrs experience.Don't be fooled by the big name cosmetology schools that cost big $$$.I have interviewed some of these students at my salons and quite honestly their students are no better than a basic school without the bells and whistles.Its always going to be about the basic training from the instructor and the attitude of the student and then of course what will happen once you have your license.This will be the start of when your world opens up. read more

Cheap cut but you better check if it's straight after. Took my 5,7 yo girls here and both got cuts. The 7 yo got long layers and it was acceptable for $15. The 5 yo got a basic blunt cut and bang trim and both were not straight so i had to ask the teacher to fix it. I get that its a beauty school so im not expecting perfection. read more
