Full set of acrylics and gel

Great service! Awesome prices. The woman who did my nails did a wonderful job and it's just what I was looking for. They gave me a really good deal on my nails as well. For the full set of acrylics plus gel, it took about 2 hours. Thanks, Amy Beauty School!

Obviously if you come here you shouldn't expect a full expensive salon experience. This is a class, with students, there are no big salon chairs with foot spas, and foot pumices. BUT, they do have comfortable chairs, with clean lined water containers. They also massage your hands and feet wonderfully. The students may make a few mistakes. As my gel nails are a little inconsistent near the cuticles and in overall coverage. The shapes are also a little inconsistent. HOWEVER, the students are very gentle, kind, and hardworking. You can tell they pay attention to detail and try their best to deliver the best job possible. You also can't beat the price here. The prices are half the price of normal salons and I have had my nails done very badly at full price salons. I highly recommend you make an appointment if you would like to have your nails done, and because the students do take their time I reccomend you set aside at least an hour. We made an appointment and only waited a few minutes for them to set up. Overall, I would reccomend this place to others if they would like to get a good manicure/pedicure for an unbeatable price!

Still coming to Amy's for root touch up, pedicures & I've even stepped it up in the last 2 years and added blue to my hair. Still can't beat the prices & all students are supervised by instructors.

Saba and Kanya were in charge of my pedicure and gel manicure and my goodness did it come out looking amazing

Saba and Kanya were in charge of my gel manicure and regular pedicure and my goodness did they come out amazing. These girls took their time and their attention to detail was amazing. Due to a childhood accident I could never grow back a nail for my pinky toe but Saba was so kind enough to make a faux nail to have my feet not look awkward. I could go on and on about my service.

I highly recommend Amy Beauty School to anyone looking excel in the beauty industry. I enrolled and completed the Aesthetician course. The education is extremely affordable compared to other beauty academy. The instructor, Mrs. Clarita is very knowledgeable, and works very hard to prepare you for state boards. I also like how the school is parnterd with Dermalogica. You learn all of the latest Dermalogica treatmeants and products. They also have a really nice microdermabrassion machine that is great to learn on. The school is clean and equipment is up to date. I passed my state boards, and is currently working for Amazing Lash Studio in Chino Hills. This is just the start of my career thanks to Amy Beauty School.

    Love my nails!

I was just curious for the Esthetician program how long it took to complete, going full time ? 3.5 months?

About 15 weeks to complete 600 hours.

How much is their aesthetician program and are the books and supplies separate?

She listened to my request and delivered a great haircut. Everything from the wash to the blowout was executed better than what I have encountered at a much higher price point. I tried this option out of desperation when my regular stylist cancelled at the last minute, but I will definitely be a return customer. It is not very often that you find a spot that meets your expectations, today, Makaila, and the front desk guy, exceeded mine! Thank you.

PLEASE READ!! I graduated a few months back and I have had some time to reflect on my experience…read morehere. I want to go ahead and say Ms. Shaunda, Ms. Cindy, and Ms. Blackshear absolutely made my entire experience here worth it. Their professionalism and wisdom helped me through so much and I want to think they are the reason I stayed at this school. The other staff members at this school were at times unprofessional, childish, rude, unreasonable, and disrespectful. They proved time and time again that they were inexperienced and truly didn't understand cosmetology. On multiple occasions they were completely unhelpful on client services as well as teaching services on our mannequin heads. At one point in my time here our instructor Ms. Megan was teaching us Men's haircuts (and I use the word "teaching" loosely) and as we did each assessment and got our results back each time it would say "good but needs more blending" but never explained what blending was or how to achieve the look she was talking about. On a separate occasion Ms. Megan brought gifts and cupcakes for a group of students who stayed the day before because a group of us left early. She told a student that stayed that they better show up the next day because she was going to bring gifts in order to humiliate those of us that left that day. That next morning they had a whole assembly with the entire school where they presented these gifts and cupcakes in an attempt to embarrass and humiliate those of us that left. Ms. Megan also discriminated against my gay friend Ishmael. She refused to say that he did drag when having us do an ice breaker activity where we all made up 2 truths and 1 lie. When she got to Ish's she read it out loud and instead of reading "I do drag" she read "I do dress up" as if she was disgusted by the idea. If that wasn't enough she wrote him up multiple times for reasons she couldn't explain saying that he was making comments that was "making others uncomfortable" . How is it acceptable to be this disrespectful, inappropriate, and unprofessional? Ms. Megan had no passion for teaching she was only there for the pay check. Ms. Neyda was our instructor for our Hairstyling Module. She had no idea what she was doing. She didn't teach us at all, she read the book to us and added no information or commentary that made the lecture more interesting. As someone who is 24 years old, I know how to read so it was very unnecessary. She also couldn't teach us most of the concepts in this module such as braiding, updos, pin curls, and finger waves. Instead of teaching us she showed us YouTube videos or had other teachers show us. If she didn't know how to teach the module then why did she. When we needed help she was no where to be found and when we tried to help each other she told us that wasn't allowed. So how was I expected to learn the concept if no one would help me. As well as not knowing how to teach us she also made it her mission to make every student's life miserable while they were here. She was completely unreasonable for certain rules that made no sense. At one point a student checked the time on their phone for literally one second so they could sign out and she told them to go home. The rule was we weren't allowed to be on our phones but it seems pretty unreasonable that we couldn't even check the time. The school also requires us to carry our entire kit in small shoebox sized plastic containers up 2 flights of stairs every morning due to the fact that there are not enough lockers in the school. As a result many of us were late multiple days due to having to carry multiple boxes up the stairs and only being given 5 min to do so. Overall, my experience at this school was horrific. Ms. Megan and Ms. Neyda are completely unprofessional and disrespectful to students and clients. I would like to reiterate that i had a wonderful experience with Ms. Shaunda, Ms. Cindy, and Ms. Blackshear but unfortunately that was completely overshadowed by Ms. Megan and Ms. Neyda. I would not recommend coming to this school it is not worth the energy. In the amount of money you save by going here you lose sanity from dealing with unreasonable instructors.

I was more than prepared, and with my license I hit the floor running. Like Lovella (who also made a review) I too, and several other former students, have gone on to open our own beauty salons & hire employees to continue our expansion. Our businesses are thriving, you can do the research. All of us that have gone on to be successful have nothing but extraordinary things to say about Miss Ruby bc she was the one who pushed & helped us to be as great as we can be. I personally have seen many students come & go while I was a student, whether bc they were graduating or bc they were dropping. Miss Ruby is very passionate about teaching skin care. This is her life and for students to come in & not take the course seriously is insulting & a waste of her time and other students time. There are many young immature girls that enroll & these are the ones who complain and create drama and bad reviews. She does not care about the money and honestly she doesn't care for peoples opinions who do not take this course seriously. UNDERSTAND, YOU ARE WORKING ON PEOPLES FACES!! The tiniest mistake, and you can burn people, scar people, seriously injure, or even kill someone bc you are not paying attention to things they are allergic to or the fact they have a heart condition. If you are not ready to take this class & career seriously, Please, look elsewhere. So please take this into consideration upon doing your research for schools & reading reviews. If you ARE ready to make your Esthetics dream a reality, then this is the perfect place for you! You will see how amazing you can be when you're pushed to your fullest potential! Highly recommended!!

*Client Perspective*…read more I do not recommend this place for paid services (face) as you can get the same value by going to a professional electrologist and have the confidence that they are doing it correctly and quickly. My issue is not with the electrologists as they are learning, but with the business not being fair in how they charge for services. Professionals only charge for hair removal time, but here the owner is including check-in, setup, and catapherisis (at the end) time which is usually 20-25 min. For an hour appt today, I had 35 minutes of actual treatment. On a prior visit, I had 5 minutes of hair removal for an hour session because the "senior" technician had not worked on the chin and could not remove the hair despite poking me dozens of times with the needle/probe. I brought these issues to the owner's attention because it is unethical how they are charging customers and not being transparent. Instead of using this feedback to improve business practices, she suggested I find another place. If the owner wants customers to be altruistic by giving students practice, then she should not be charging for any services since it is already benefiting her for-profit school and students. I am barely clearing my chin out in 8 sessions, as students remove approx. 40-50 hairs per hour compared to over 200 hairs by professionals. The value for your money and time is the same as going to a professional. I have found several electrologists in the area that are $90 per hour. The $20 per hour will cost the same in the long-run if the professional is removing 4x the rate as a student and more experienced to provide permanent results.

I decided to try my luck at an audtion at Pala Casino which is a Vegas style casino, unlike the LA area casinos. Needless to say, I failed miserably because I was not familiar with the Vegas style or games. Alright, so back to the drawing board. I take my chances by enrolling at IAM Casino Dealer School because if I want any chance of working at an Indian Reservation casino, I'm going to need to learn the Vegas style games and rules. I'll be honest, at first I didn't think it would be much different from my recent training for LA area casinos and that I'd be in and out of this school in no time. Oh boy was I wrong! The owner/teacher Jane, opened my eyes to a whole new world. From learning new games to re-learning old games, from shuffling cards to cutting the chips, it was like learning a new language. Jane made sure that I mastered one game before moving on to the next. Some games took longer to learn than others, even with all of the repetitiveness and practicing from home, if I wasn't perfect, she wouldn't let me pass to move on to the next game. Believe me, I wanted to strangle her at times because she dind't pass me, but I know that she is strict with her style of teaching because she wants ALL of her students to be the best that they can be and have successful careers. Afterall, we are representing her and the IAM Casino Dealer school when we apply and audition at casinos.
