Cheap cut but you better check if it's straight after. Took my 5,7 yo girls here and both got cuts. The 7 yo got long layers and it was acceptable for $15. I took my daughter in to enroll her into Cosmetology night class.Dealing with enrollment at the local college was next to impossible dealing with online.I highly suggest going in.If we had known this before,It would have saved a lot of time and confusion.My daughter missed the orientation due to the extremely complicated enrollment process.So do yourselves a favor and go into the Saddleback location.The staff were actually very helpful.If it had not been for my daughter choosing night class schedule,She would not have gotten in,as the daytime class was already full.We were very relieved and my daughter is very happy to be starting her training in a week. The Saba beauty administrator was very helpful and courteous and explained everything thoroughly.This is going to be a good fit for my daughter.I am a hairstylist with 30 yrs experience.Don't be fooled by the big name cosmetology schools that cost big $$$.I have interviewed some of these students at my salons and quite honestly their students are no better than a basic school without the bells and whistles.Its always going to be about the basic training from the instructor and the attitude of the student and then of course what will happen once you have your license.This will be the start of when your world opens up. read more

I graduated last year as an esthetician and enjoyed my time here. My instructor, ms. Asmi, really focused on getting through the book for each of her students to help us pass our state board exams. She has a really high passing rate which is super important for your success as an esthetician. She will also highlight important topics throughout your time there. She really cares for her students' success and makes sure they're congratulated at the fun graduation parties. You can make great connections here and also get to know the cosmetology side. We often trade services while we're all learning how to perform them. If you go here, I definitely advise you to learn as much as possible, ask questions, and get involved with the services to prepare you for work. He had a rude and arrogant, intimidating tone in front of other people in the room. Being a business owner myself I know how to treat customers with courtesy and respect. First he said this is not Santa Ana Beauty Academy and when I said that website gave me this address then he said yes it is a branch of the school. Wow. What a nice experience! First of all, I absolutely love self care days and I prioritize taking time to schedule these days for myself. My son's girlfriend, Reagan, is a new student at SABA Beauty School and I wanted to support her journey. I booked a Deluxe Facial and a Deluxe Back Facial with her. So nice! I've been a hairdresser for 30 years and graduated from Vidal Sassoon beauty school in Santa Monica and had the training from well known instructors in haircutting and color The Saba instructors don't know how to properly do color to complement skin color and for highlighting and teaching them how to properly cut hair and instructors checking to see how students are doing. At Tony and Guy academy and Paul Mitchell the instructors are always checking on students and after they are finished . These instructors at Soba need to go back to school and take an extensive training on properly mixing colors for clients and haircutting and styling to patrons shape of their face. It looks like these instructors graduated from Jack in the box school at Soba These ladies put such a dark color on my roots that did not compliment me at all. The salon I was working at had to do color on my roots to look becoming to my skin tone. I thought I could get some of the students after they graduate to come in a few hair salons I know who would love to have some graduates come and work there but it will take a lot of training as an assistant but don't think they will be able to read more

I came to get my hair cut and colored one evening after work. My stylist was very sweet and her instructor was super welcoming and very knowledgeable in assisting my stylist with what colors to apply in my hair based off the picture I showed them! My cut was beyond amazing, my hair had been damaged and broken from the bleach prior to coming in, and the layers miss diane was able to walk my stylist through to achieve the cut in the photo I showed them, were incredible! I needed to get my roots done, but I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg, if you know what I mean! I read the reviews and not all of them are good, however, hardly any places have perfect reviews. I have been here before, maybe two or three times for hair cuts & roots and have always been happy with the results, however, This time I knew they had changed management, so I was a little leery. A student named Bella worked on my hair with supervision from a senior student and it was one of the best experiences I have had getting my roots done! Now, You don't go there expecting to get in and out in a short period of time because it just doesn't happen like a regular salon. The first time I had a wash, highlights, cut, and blowdry done by Mary. She is a very knowledgeable, professional and talented student. The instructor, Ms. Dianne, was very kind and was there to make sure the communication was clear on what I wanted. She also checked in on us during various times of my appointment and gave her expert advice on what needed to be done. I went for the second time today and I had a wash and blowdry by Mary agon, and I loved the results. Her effort in everything she does is immaculate. In March of 2021 I decided to go to beauty college for cosmetology. Out of all the ones in my area I decided to go to SABA and it was the best decision I ever made. Ms Tammy, Ms Asme, Ms Monica and my favorite Ms. Joanne made this the best experience for a beauty college. I can't thank enough all of my teachers have literally put me where I am today. I only graduated 5 months ago and starting 3 months ago I got a job in a salon. I struggled starting off my first month and I thought I can't do this and this isn't for me and all of my teachers encouraged me to continue for at least another month to let them teach me and show me what I am capable of. I am so glad I did because I wouldn't be where I am today without their guidance. Ms. Joanne of all is the Most energetic, kind and fun teacher. She teaches in ways that make the 40 hour weeks fun. if you say hideous, then I guess you can ... went there with my daughter I asked for a full balayage and a haircut. My daughter also was going to be getting a haircut. She got her haircut. Hers came out good they started ménage which ended up being a full highlight, which I kept saying no no so they finally started doing the balayage. They had no clue what they were doing at all. The girl kept having to get the teachers over every couple and I mean every couple minutes the teachers came over and what happens. They start arguing and arguing and arguing. I felt like I was in school listening back-and-forth as I'm supposed to be sitting there and having a good time getting my hair done and it ended up just being horrible they go to take the foils off. My hair was bright orange like bozo the clown. I was so upset. I started how upset I was the lady that was a teacher that was standing there literally looked over at my daughter because I was complaining about my orange hair and what are we going to do about it? Asking her what are you going to do? She looked over at my daughter and said is this what you were teaching your daughter how to complain and act like a little child I was so pissed when she said that and my daughter got up and said don't you ever talk to my mom like that? not believe a teacher would even speak to somebody like that especially a I have been to this place 1 million times and this is how they're going to treat me??? my daughters have been to this place a few times also they said they will never ever come again after all that I even spoke to the owner and he really couldn't say much to me. He chased my daughter around the place asking her over and over. Here why she's so upset we're going to take care of your mom. They never took care of me. They put a toner on my head and my hair is still bridal orange and yellow. They claim it looks great but great to them means you get a leave with bright that is brassy and they know they try to tell you it looks beautiful... now I gotta go spend hundreds of dollars to try to get my hair back to how it was when I walked in there but anyway my point is if you want orange yellow hair then this is the place to go and if you want to be yelled at and treated like crud.. the teacher did apologize to me, but I could tell I was told that she was told to apologize to I really did not want to accept her apology. I just kept looking at her like you've got to be joking. My poor daughter was outside the whole time after she got her haircut. to them be rude I will say one thing, though the girl that did my hair and was very nice but other than that, she had no clue on what she was and she was about to graduate just saying be careful read more

instructors were extremely unprofessional and had no idea what they were doing. i made an appointment with kendra (who is a senior student) and she was going to be touching up my roots with bleach. let me preface this by saying she was not the problem whatsoever!!! she is very talented and i was more than happy to help her get experience with bleaching. kendra wasnt sure what developer to use with the bleach. so, one of the instructors (i believe her name was Donna) told her to use level 10. After about 7 minutes of the bleach sitting, Diane told kendra to take the bleach off. (if you know anything about bleaching hair you already know the problem...) so OBVIOUSLY my hair was very brassy and the bleach didn't lift much... while donna was checking my hair, she used a tip of a PENCIL to look around my roots.. and i later found a little spot of blood around the same spot she was poking.... so i think it's fair to assume she scratched me with the led of a pencil. we had to do ANOTHER round of 10 developer bleach on my roots. (along with rewashing, redrying..) i had gotten to the salon at 11 and at this point it was around 2:30, but i still had hope and i wasn't freaked out about the situation. again, kendra is a STUDENT !! i knew there may be setbacks and i put aside extra time for this appointment. so after having mostly figured out the bleaching situation, we moved onto toning. the school had very few options because apparently they were waiting for orders to come in. so kendra, jenna (another incredible student!!), and i were all going through the toning options they DID have.. then another instructor comes over. (Purple hair lady and i think her name was Diane) As soon as she approaches kendra's station, the energy shifted and she was very aggressive towards kendra and jenna. she kept saying, "this is why i never bleach roots." "this is why i never use toner." IN FRONT OF ME!!!!! she was very unprofessional and at a certain point because she was making such a big fuss about my hair, i said "you're making me nervous.." and she snapped back and said that i needed to "hurry up and decide" and i needed to "know exactly what i want." i was so uncomfortable. so we chose a toner and my hair turned out great!!! kendra and jenna did a great job applying it as a team and trying to get me out of there as fast as possible because at this point it was around 4:15. the service charge was $100. and this money does not go to the students doing the service, it goes to the school. so the after the experience i had with the instructors, i wanted to talk to the owner and tell them what i noticed. i was hoping for some kind of discount because i didn't see it fair to pay full price if it didn't even go to kendra. even though my hair turned out alright, all the drama could've been avoided had the first instructor told kendra to use level 20 and to keep it on for longer. it also seems like the instructors get very easily aggravated when something doesn't go according to plan... which seems counterproductive because the whole point of a beauty school is to learn from your mistakes... the guy i originally talked to was named henry (who was very understanding and apologetic) and he talked about me paying 90. then i talk to a woman named tammy and she says absolutely not and gets very aggressive. it had been almost 6 hours at this point and i didn't want to give these people any money, so i venmoed kendra the 100 (plus a fat tip!!) and left in frustration... kendra you are so amazing and talented, i hope these rude teachers don't hold you back from furthering your career. read more

I have especially been impressed with the high level of expertise, supervision, monitoring, support, caring and responsive personalities in: Miss Donna, Miss Diane, and Miss Lucy. This school is poorly managed, I am urging you to PLEASE avoid going here. It is disorganized and the teachers and management behave inappropriately and suspend students everytime they bring this up. They act like our education is some sort of elimination game to them. They don't teach. I have genuinely witnessed multiple counts of teachers cussing the students out. Management does nothing even though countless people have brought these problems up. The teachers are also talentless and do not teach, often times the lessons are led by the students who pay to go here. Just this morning the instructor told us that this is cosmetology school and it doesn't allow freedom of speech STAY AWAY- we are bullied by these teacher (teachers have cussed out students, made racist remarks, and threatened us) rules change everyday, if we stand up for ourselves we get clocked out. WE PAY TO BE HERE they should not be able to clock us out!!!! This is the worst place I've ever gone too. This has caused my mental health so much damage within the first 2 months of going here. A teacher told an African American student that she can't do white people hair because she black She has said she wished she could kick someone off a cliff and got into a students face.
