The people here are friendly and the few times I've visited the ER everything went good and they got us well

I had to press several more times so he took the ringer off my door. the little black nurse came in to give me pain meds, she went in the wrong direction and blew out my vain. they left me like that for several hours. the male nurse came in a few hours later, I was in pain and my arm was swollen and purple. he called the little black nurse she was mad and came to my room and said some harsh words to me. but left me with my arm swollen and purple. I rang again cause I needed my pain meds. they said I couldn't have more because she gave me some already. I showed them my arm and said it in a bubble in my arm. they finally gave me Tylenol and put my iv in a different place and then gave me pain meds.THIS WAS THE WORST HOSPITAL IVE EVER BEEN IN!!

My mom was a patient of nurse practitioner Lizabeth Hattaway. She was adjusting my mom's medication…read moreand my mom had some rough patches. Anyway Hattaway sent my mom to a place called freedom behavior. They were according to what was told to my mom they would fix her medicine and keep her a few nights about 3 days. When my mom went in immediately she started being mistreated told to strip down and shower and watched while she was showering. She was in a tiny room very cold and asked for a blanket the worker did not give her one. I tried to call my mom 2 times and was told i could not speak to her and when I asked why I was hung up on twice. My aunt finally got my mom out of there and my mom said they never monitored or offered her medicine on top of that there was a male patient in there that kept grabbing her. When my mom had her next appointment with Hattaway my mom explained to her what happened. Hattaway told my mom to shut up and if she did not straighten up she would send her to the mental institution in Shreveport. That is a threat and under patient privacy act you cannot make verbal threats like that . I looked it up. Hattaway kept changing my mom's medicine and my mom went through very difficult times acting out crying etc. My mom has a new doctor now since she has stopped going to Hattaway it is been a complete 180 difference. I know that byrd had a very long and bad rap sheet. Stay away from this place go to cabrini or deridder. If i had a heart attack here in Leesville I would not care if it was more time consuming to go to Alexandria or deridder no way will I roll the dice with byrd hospital or any doctors or nurse practitioners affiliated with this place

It's incredible to me that you can bring a toddler to the ER here after a fall and NEVER see a…read moredoctor. You might see a PA or a nurse, but no doctor. And the PA and nurse fail to explain what exactly is wrong but act like jerks and are noticeably offended when you ask them to clarify what certain terms mean. That is in addition to a nurse acting like you just won a prize--clapping her hands and with a sing song voice saying your child is getting transferred to children's in Houston. Completely unprofessional, cold, uncaring and made one of the scariest situations remarkably worse!! I know it's a small town, but that doesn't mean the nurses and PAs should be subpar in their jobs. I would recommend going to absolutely any other hospital in the state before this one. If I were bleeding out of my eyes, I would drive the extra time to get to Houston blind due to how bad they are here. Avoid like the plague (which they would probably clap along to)

A visit late the night of February 7 which extended into the early morning hours of February 8,…read more2026 was indeed a Five Star. The reason for a visit to the Emergency area was not life threatening but needed to be addressed. Every single person from the Reception Check In to the Nurse, Doctor, and filling out information was not just professional but also friendly. The medical event was successfully treated and we received the discharge. Not hoping for a future visit, of course, but if medical attention, especially at odd hours or for an emergency, is needed this is the place to go
