My brother in law got this for us and holy moly is this food freaking amazing. The ambience is on point as they had an amazing time with their study group. According to him all of their food, juice and other drinks they bought (they got like half the menu it sounds like lol) were equally as amazing as my dish. Bro got us Tostones Carne Ogao: Oh my goodness I ate almost all of it before taking a picture. The best plantain dish I've had so far. And the drinks too?? Perfect. The Achiras here AREN'T STALE!! A holy grail for us because it's hard for us to find them in the area. We'll, it's hard for us to get around to trying things in the city, so this is just compared to what we can buy personally for retail, not other restaurants. The menu has a lot of options and the food is fresh and delicious. I was pleased I could get some guanabana drink because you don't see that on menus around very much. The empanadas were so tasty and full of flavor. They are authentically Colombian and the dipping sauce only enhanced the flavors. I discovered this place about 5 years ago while exposing my kids to international foods on what we called "Fun Food Friday" I don't recall what else we tried, but the Cuban Sandwich keeps us coming back! I won't even try one someplace else, because I know I will be disappointed. We had to wait a bit for our order, but it was well worth it! If you have not been, you need to go!! I've been here twice so far. I will admit that both times I got the same exact thing, shame on me! But I was satisfied the first time and craved the same meal. I got the Bistec a Caballo (steak and onions), it comes with slaw, rice, beans, and plantains. Not pictured here but I also got the cafe en leche (coffe and milk) and was very pleased with the flavor and its ability to wake me up. I have eaten here for stay-in (pre COVID) and take-out. Since the new owners have taken over they've really updated and upgraded the spot. It's very cute and welcoming inside. When you step in its easy to be transported back home if that's where you're from. This is a small family-owned and operated eatery, the owners are a couple from Colombia and Venezuela. Their menu is comprised of traditional Colombian and Cuban dishes which are legit. As the only Colombian spot in Buffalo here is where you can get some authentic Colombian arroz, arepas, empanadas, tajadas, patacones, batidas, cafecito and one of the best Cuban sandwiches ever (I live in Miami)! They have that secret garlicky cilantro-y sauce that's really spectacular. If you get a sandwich beware they're huge! One can easily feed two people. One of their jazzed up arepas with meat. etc can easily double as a sandwich or your primary meal. Leave room for arroz con leche or flan, or whichever dessert may be available that day. I got a Cuban sandwich and the beef empanadas. The sandwich was huge. Probably the size of my forearm. The pork was great and the ham was ok, but overall was pleased. Unlike the Cubans I'm used to, this didn't have pickles or mustard but the spread and cheese on there was still delicious. Complete gem of a place. So I was craving some arepas which are usually Colombian or Argentinian and not available in Buffalo easily. So I googled where I could get these and only 2 places came up. So we went there for lunch as it's only open till 4 or 5pm. We ordered the Colombian platter which comes with rice, beans, steak (substituted with chicken as we don't eat beef), chorizo, pork belly , plaintains, fried egg and small arepas. It was mouth watering and the portion size was huge. My husband and I spilt the platter and were completely full. I did order a separate arepa con queso which was delicious the meats were cooked really well and seasoned right. I love their chilli sauce which I think was a spicy salsa verde. The place is owned by a couple and they have Colombian and Cuban foods. The place has maybe 4 or 5 tables but it's intimate and the service was good by the owner lady. A lot of Spanish speaking people came in to get fake away orders while we ate there. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely go back there soon. read more
