Most the dogs there outside had no water or any cover to get out of the heat/sun. The house, where she housed the smaller dogs, smelt extremely bad. The little Yorkie was severely malnourished, dehydrated, peeing constantly which meant she probably had a UTI infection and her spade sight incision was extremely red and becoming infected with sepsis. So the next morning I took her to my vets. I had them take a complete blood panel work-up, x-rays, urinalysis test, ect. to see what all is wrong with this sweet dog. Her test conclude that she is indeed malnourished, badly dehydrated, severe UTI infection and severe sepsis infection. So my vets kept her over night to hydrate her via IV and give her heavy antibiotics intravenously. The vet said he was very worried that she may not pull through the night or weekend. That's how sick this sweet dog was. She was on the brink of death. She had to have emergency surgery to clean the sepsis. All her other organs attached to the suture from the botched spade. I had to force feed her to get her to start eating again. Come to find out, Kathy had 3 cases against her in the courts for such bad practices with her dog rescue. As a Rescue Center you failed this sweet dog and many others, and in the eyes of the law this is Animal Cruelty. I can't even imagine the other countless of dogs in her care that has been sick and sold to others who only wish to love and care for their new pet. I do NOT recommend anyone adopting any of the dogs she has as she does not give adequate medical care and adopts out sick dogs. Deb P.

There was a manger who wasn't very friendly that is why there is a one star removed. Now I am way behind in my list of places to review so that person may not even work there anymore. This was two years ago. Make sure you call to see if the dog you want is still available if you can't make it in. Most get adopted fast. I will definitely go here to find my next adoption.

Our family has been trying to adopt a cat for the last two months and was getting the run around or…read moreno replies from local rescue groups. We saw a beautiful cat on a local site linked to Rock City. In all honesty we thought it might be a scam because who the heck would transport a rescue car from Arkansas to New York City? The passionate volunteers at Rock City Rescue would of course! Meeting the drivers you can tell right away they genuinely want to help these beautiful creatures. After we were approved to adopt, they set up a group Facebook chat with his foster mom where we got some basic details. The foster mom sounded awesome (We almost felt bad to take Earl Grey away from what sounds like an amazing home). We picked up Earl Grey today from an agreed upon pick up point along their drop off route (on the way to Maine, they provided updated arrival times via group Facebook chat), swapped documents, the adoption fee and off we went in less than 10minutes. From the moment he hoped into the carrier he was purring, engaging and social. It was plain he knew love and was not afraid(Thanks B!). He's taken to everybody in our household so well. He even lets my two year old daughter hug him which really surprised me. Overall the process is a bit scattered (I can only imagine how many emails they process) but once it got on its way, it went really fast(about a week). I suppose ppl that work here have to be cold and have no empathy or sympathy for anything. probably not an easy job. my 2 cents, don't bring animals here. please.

There were too many cats & kittens to count ....but you wouldn't know it by smelling the room. All the cats and kittens were clean and healthy. These guys are doing a great job caring for all these animals.
