Food is good most of the time but the service has been mostly bad. They put cold bacon on queso burgers. When you ask for steak fries, they give you regular fries. Can't believe that discrimination is so alive and well here. My husband came in with his purse and the lady at the door said she'd have to search his purse because he's not a woman. Have been coming here for a couple of months for their all you can eat crab leg buffet. when we first started coming it was awesome the crab legs were nice and meaty and cooked perfectly. The last 2 weeks it has really gone downhill, the crab legs are so ski that you get very little meat out of them once you finally get them opened. They are so soggy that they do not crack, you literally have to rip through the shell and then scrape the meat off of the inside of the shell. To top it off, all of the food on the buffet was cold. My fiancé and I come here often just for the food...we stay for the fun as well and the people are always nice. Years ago, I was trying to make it to Topeka from Omaha (I'm a truck driver). It was snowing and icy it was a whiteout. After 13 years in Alaska I KNOW when it's time to park it. There was a light on in the sky and I followed the road to where it was. They have a place for trucks to park. They even give truckers credits every time they go in. The food is good & the people are warm and inviting. (No, I'm not a smoker, just not a whiner either). We had a really good time here last night. Came in around 11:30, got a few drinks, and hit some of our favorite slots. The gaming floor wasn't crowded at all and the slots were pretty loose for a Tuesday night. After playing a few hours we decided to get a bite to eat at the 24 hour cafe. The food was ok but the girl at the register appeared to be burned out and in need of some help. My husband won $60 bucks on a machine as we were waiting on our food so that was a plus. It's been awhile since we have been to this place and I don't recall winning anything on previous visits. They do however have a Crab Leg Buffet on Friday nights that is one of the best around! We went and played the bonus money they gave us a new customers, my mom won 8 cents on a machine and hit the payout button. When we cashed out the guy scanned it and it said it had already been paid. A lot of people would have just went on their way but I said "no, it's a real ticket THEIR machine printed out, we are owed that 8 cents and they guy warned us that it would take a long time to get resolved (45 min). Everything up to that point is understandable. Sometimes issues happen, the problem was their floor manager came and looked at the ticket and asked "where did you get this" "did you find this somewhere". She was the absolute rudest person I've ever delt with in customer service. She didn't want to pay us 8 CENTS!!!!! I asked, "can't you guys look it up?" I then asked, doesn't it tell you the machine it came from? Can't you go to that machine and it'll tell you there was a payout of 8 cents? She then left and was gone for a very long time. When she returned she didn't even look at me, she just told the cashier "just pay them the 8 cents and I'll sign for it". No one ever offered an apology. I will never go back read more

The only reason I am reviewing this place at all, thus giving it ONE star, is for their all-you-can-eat crab, which is suprisingly good considering how far this place is from the ocean. I walked up with my parents after a long plane ride from California. I smiled and said hello to the lady at the door as we walked in. Her first words were not a reply to my hello, they were instead directed at my parents. "Is she a minor." she asked my parents in such a deadpan, wannabe cop tone of voice that it did not warrant a question mark at the end, though it was indeed a question. My parents, not me, as if I didn't even exist. "Nope!" I replied, not letting her failed ambitions get me down. "I'll need to see her ID." she said to my parents, again ignoring me. "Sure!" I said, and procured said ID. She scrutinized it, looking at it, then the date on the wall, then at it. It took her about 5-10 minutes to do the math and figure out that I was just 6 months shy of 21. I was surprised she didn't pull out a pen and paper to do it by hand. She then accusingly announced that I was a minor. My folks and I were confused. Wasn't a minor someone who was under 18? To my knowledge, I had not been a minor for over 2 years. Besides, we said, we weren't here to drink. We were here for dinner and nothing more. She said, 'OK' then picked up her walkie talkie and began describing me to security so they could watch me walk through the casino to the restaurant. 5"3, black coat, jeans, hat, and she also made an insulting approximation of my weight. Come on, now, did you add 50 pounds to my weight to make it seem like you yourself were not fat? Cuz it didn't work. We were just horrified with this shining example of customer service. I mean, back in California I had a job to sell cigarettes. Yeah, sometimes I have to turn people down because they don't have an ID or aren't 18, but I'm always polite about it. I tell them I'm sorry and that I hope they have a nice day even though I can't sell them cigarettes. Because I know that if I give them good customer service anyway, they will remember me for when they do turn 18 and they will come back to be proper customers. Unless they are being impolite, but even then I will still have a smile for them because that's the best way to make them realize they are being an ass. But no, this horror show was not yet over. In the middle of our meal this lady comes to the restaurant to stare us down for a full five minutes. Then, as we were leaving, the server informed us that she would have to radio security to let them know I was leaving, so they could watch me leave. As we were leaving, my mother jokingly told the security guard, "The minor is leaving the building." and he said with all seriousness, "That's a good thing." Screw you, nutSac & smallCox! I never felt so unwelcome in my whole life. My parents were pretty offended too. You know, I could understand the treatment if I was with a group of rowdy kids causing trouble, but I was with my PARENTS. And STILL we were treated like hooligans. My wife and I went to the Frankie Valli tribute band show last night which was May 21, 2016. There was a full house with standing room only, and the band was excellent. They are called "Walk Like A Man," and the 4 of them are from New Jersey, Chicago, San Antonio, and Los Angeles. The concert room was almost completely free of smokers and cigarette smoke. We had a great time, and we plan to go back soon for tribute bands on the Bee Gees and The Beatles. Keep up the good work...and fun, Sac & Fox ! read more

Stoops in here last night First off the place isn't real big They do have a lounge, buffet and cafe The lounge is ok .... No one working the bar until Like after 5pm .... And limit of one drink every 30 minutes Beer is crazy expensive at $3.50 each As for the games they are your average games. Not real loose. We hit a few but pay outs are not the best The buffet we didn't try because it was very very small and for $18.99 for a week night. We live in Topeka. We used to frequent the closest casino simply because of proximity. More recently we began traveling the extra miles to visit Sac & Fox, and we're so glad we made that decision! The atmosphere is much more accommodating and personal, every employee is friendly and helpful, and the food is fantastic at the little diner (BTW, it's also less expensive than fast food)! Even when we don't come home with a million dollars we still feel the experience was worth the trip and expenses. In comparison to the other gaming options nearby, including those in KC, we never feel as welcome, well fed or well rewarded as we do at the Sac & Fox. P.S.
