An update... Missouri legalized gambling, so the casino has transformed a small space and a restaurant near the casino entrance into a sports book. It's a-ok. There are a few seats, a wall of tvs and a cage where you can place your bets. Cash only. The restaurant entrance is in the sports book. I haven't visited, so I'm not sure if you can bet while you're dining or if it's just a place to watch the game. As for the casino itself, not much has changed. Lots of slots and some tables. The unisex bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. Brown ring and automatic flush didn't work. They do have a no smoking area and the air is less Smokey but as soon as you step out of that area you are hit with strong cigarette smell. Two restaurant areas were closed and not functioning. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone first and foremost because they lied about having a spa they do not have a spa the hotel smells terrible they are in the middle of renovations which they never told us prior to booking. We were sitting in the hotel restaurant and bugs were flying all over the place inside the restaurant they were Nat's! They do not offer room service and we had housekeeping knock on our door even though we had the "do not disturb" light on. We asked for a non smoking and the hallway reeked of cigarettes and Marijuana!!! There's nothing regulated at this hotel we will never return the elevators were not working and when deciding to go up the stairs the upstairs door was locked this place is not at all good! Stay somewhere else. Restaurant staff thought that having bugs flying around was funny. I found no humor nor comfort in our stay. We had no choice but to stay at that hotel because all of the hotels around were booked and it would have been also very difficult because we had booked online with Expedia which in my opinion is useless because you can't get anyone to pick up their phone. The new sportsbar had TWO people making drinks and taking to go orders for a few hundred people. I was 2nd in line and it took me over 10 minutes just place my order. I waited 30 minutes for an order of chicken wings. Which is ridiculous. And what's worse, my food sat behind the bar longer after that even though I had them check if it was my food. It was. But by the time I got it my beaded chicken wings were soggy AF. I tried to eat them in a chair outside the sports bar but there them in the trash because they were mush. Argosy is a fun place to play some games and get a bite to eat. I do wish they had more casual dining options and a buffet again, but 99 Hopps is pretty decent with decent prices and service. The slot and video poker selection is pretty decent, definitely better than harrahs. The place has a good vibe and drink servers come by with carts which is nice since the soda machines are long gone since Covid. It would be great if they would bring back self serve soda machines and the buffet, the Covid excuse is way old. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Upon check in these people claimed the 8th floor was non-smoking but after our 3rd of 7 nights they rented the adjacent room to smokers. I have C.O.P.D. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and can not be around second hand smoke for any long periods of time. In fact I shouldn't be subjected to cigarette smoke at all. When we made our reservation we were also told at that time that the hotel was non-smoking. Our room started stinking more and more to the point that on the 4th night it was so bad that we couldn't sleep at all so we tried placing a towel at the bottom of the connecting door but that didn't stop it. I called down to the desk and the women said "The 8th floor is no-smoking. I then told her "Then you rented the next room to smokers". She asked me to hold and after several minutes she hung up. We waiting almost an hour for her to come up to the floor or at the very least call us back but NOTHING! So we packed up and at 3:30 AM we left. We were much better off spending the last day of our vacation at the airport then live with that stink. Also, we both stepped up close to the other rooms front door and not only were these people still awake but the smoke was coming out from under the door stinking up the hall way. You could smell the cigarette smoke all the way down the hall to the elevators. This was all bad enough but this was the first hotel we've ever stayed at that doesn't have locks/latches on their doors. Anyone with a pass key can just walk right in. They also think is a good idea to not have automatic door closers so all night long you can here the doors slamming closed. I sent them an email but they completely ignored it. Worst $1,100.00 bucks we've ever spent. There's plenty of really nice placed to stay that are truly "Smoke Free" so PLEASE stay away from this place. read more

Booked the hotel for my family for the weekend to be a one stop shop. Food, fun, and a spa for my wife and daughters. The web page still lists it even the signs out front still say spa but upon arrival we were told it has been closed since covid. This wa​s a major disappointment. Even the help chat on the website even still says hotel and spa :). If you do Google the exact spa at argosy website it will tell you it's closed but needless to say left a little disappointed. The worst casino experience I've had. New to the KC area and Argosy has been my go-to spot, but after today I'll have to go elsewhere. They were doing maintenance or something so machines only took cash. No big deal, take the ticket to the cashier and get cash. The first time, the cashier acted annoyed and huffed when I came up with a ticket. The second time I got a "back again already?" and she copped an attitude through the whole transaction. The third time, she did not even say a word, just an upset look on her face despite my attempt at small talk and made it SUPER uncomfortable. Mind you, this was not 3 visits within 10 minutes, but 3 visits within nearly 2 hours. I don't expect everyone to smile and be bubbly, but at least don't act like doing your job is my fault. Honestly after the third visit, I just spent what I had and left. One staff member walking around was also an issue but if you're looking for a good casino experience, look elsewhere. read more

We love Argosy Casino. It's a Casino people! You literally are gambling so really cannot complain when we don't do well. We win some and we lose some but we always have a great time and we are responsible when doing so. Jaime is the best bartender, we really don't care for any of the other but that just our personal opinions. 99 Hops is decent, Lotus is hit or miss, and Leo's Deli serves up consistent quality food. We love Leo's Deli so much, just wish their hours were expanded a bit (open earlier). We will continue to return. read more

I'm not a clean freak by any means but the room I stayed in over the weekend was absolutely unacceptable the added resort fees need to be given to someone who can clean. Then NO hot water shower or sink. NO lukewarm water. Only ice cold water. Impossible to wash hair and shower. Pictures show dead bugs on shelf and extreme filth. Since the vent was covered, we coughed, sneezed, runny nose and congestion. Their lack of television stations and small television didn't help. New experience. After the last one I was contacted to inquire about the issue but when I responded they ghosted me. But here's what happened on Thursday July 3rd: I had already played blacjack and had a pretty good night so I decided to try my luck at craps for the first time in forever. I put 10 on the pass line and threw 10 and called " Midnight" and threw another 10 and called "Yo". The dealer was holding my money and asking, "Which one?" I had no idea I was on some weird table where midnight and yo didn't mean the same thing as every other casino so I started pointing at the middle where the 30 to 1 odds were and the dealer kept saying," Put your hands back!". How am I supposed to tell her what I'm calling if I can't at least point to it? Out of all the casinos in the Kansas City area this one was always the nicest in a safe area. We got to the room and immediately noticed what appeared to be bloody phlegm or a bloody snot rocket on the bottom of the shower floor. I immediately contacted the front desk who said they would send somebody up to clean it. Hours later nobody. Tried calling back later again in the evening, no answer. called the front desk the next morning, lady answers, tells me nobody from the cleaning crew is in until 830. now understand, every single person that I talked to did not seem disturbed in the least bit about this and acted like it was really not a big deal. I understand that in the grand scheme of things this isn't the most disgusting but ranks right up there. definitely disgusting enough that I'm not cleaning it up myself. Secondly, this is supposed to be a smoke-free room. Every time the air conditioning unit would come on It was almost like they were piping in air from the casino floor. We both woke up in the morning hacking and our stuff all smelling like cigarette smoke. WiFi never allowed me to connect, TV remote wouldn't work and all for the cost of $150/night. Stayed here over the weekend after we got married. We were not allowed to have a suite since it was the weekend. Kinda made no sense, guess they only give to important people even if though they are empty. Whatever. The spa was still closed due to COVID but many places are open and do massages. No breakfast buffet which is fine. But also no room service which makes no sense. If the casino is open then they can do room service. Gym was closed and yet we were charged $12 a day for amenities. We had a room with a king bed. They are really nice size rooms and have a big bathroom and huge shower. The makeup mirror's light didn't work though, would have been so much easier putting on my makeup with it. I don't think I would want to stay again, wasn't really that impressed. read more

This is where I went for my 21st birthday. I think the layout is gorgeous. The only thing that keeps me away is the cigarette smoke that is so strongly present in the casino side, you'll walk out smelling as though you bathed in cigarette butts. The hotel side is lovely. My family and I got 2 rooms that were connected - one with a king and one with 2 queens. The front desk workers are so nice! They do require a $50 deposit that they return when you check out. There was a free gym room with ample weights and machines. The room is spacious. The best part is definitely the shower though, which has an over head waterfall shower set-up! The hotel experience could improve drastically. If you're looking for a room service do not stay here. They advertise they have it, but they do not have room service right now. They lie to your face and tell you at the front desk they do. I stayed here four days and they do not not for breakfast lunch or dinner. If you're looking for a full breakfast meal in the morning, even in a restaurant, you won't find it. The restaurant doesn't open till noon. They expect you to order DoorDash or GrubHub or Uber eats. Secondly, they advertise in the room that they have a robot will deliver Housekeeping goods. Housekeeping doesn't come in till 8 AM so if you need coffee at 6 AM, 4 cups of sugar or anything towels, you have to come down to the front desk and get them yourself. This is not a good hotel to stay at anymore. Someone had smoked weed in my room before I checked in don't know if it was Housekeeping or the previous customer. I called down to the front desk immediately and they didn't apologize or anything or offered to change rooms. I stayed here 3 1/2 years ago and had a great experience for three days. This time was the worst experience and I will not be back to Argosy ever. There's shameful what they're doing here. They say short staff is why they didn't have dinner room service the other night but that's because they cut all the room service staff and there is no room service. I stayed here in particularly for room service and I don't have a car here cause I flew in so what does a person like me supposed to do. Starve till noon. Just ridiculous. But they will lie to you on the phone and the lie straight to your face at the front desk. Most people probably don't stay four days straight so they don't notice. My fiancé, our son and myself went to the check up desk and were told right away that the hotel is not for kids which made us feel very unwelcome right from the start. We then went to our room and found that the entire room was dusty - I could swipe my hand on the desk and would have dust piled on my hand. Along with this, there were multiple strands of long dark hair on the night stands. While checking for bed bugs, we noticed there were no fitted sheets on the mattress but only a regular sheet tucked into the sides. There were exposed stains on the mattress since the sheet did not cover the whole mattress *where our heads would be for sleeping. I called the front desk and spoke with a male staff member. I explained the room's state and right away, he requested for us to come downstairs and arrangements can be made. We went back down to the lobby and there was no male staff present. I spoke with a woman about the missing fitted sheets and was interrupted with "yeah. we don't use fitted sheets." I then asked about the dust to which she said she would have someone come up to our room to clean it again. No apology, sympathy or kindness noted. We went to dinner and came back to our room slightly better. The hair and dust were gone from the surfaces but the lamps and phones were still covered. I would say this is the worst of it but after an entire night stay and the room being cleaned for a second time, there was a used condom wrapper found in the night stand drawer. I have called and left a message for the manager to call back with no return and it has been 4 days. I emailed a request to have someone call me so we will see if I get a response. read more

Stay away from this hotel. Smoke in every room, smells like a chain smoker who covers up with rose perfume. My flight came in around midnight and I had no choice but to stay a night here. I chose to leave my suitcase packed and in the bathroom because the room smelled so bad. This is AFTER they switched me to a different room. I shower and put my hair in a tight bun but still woke up smelling like smoke and dirt. They boast about their "amazing rain shower heads" but they're built up with calcium and the second shower head attached to the wall was disgusting. Spent $500 for this past Friday and Saturday night with expectations of class and cleanliness. However, the room I was provided had dog food laying on the floor and the floors were not vacuumed. When I went to the corner of my bed I noticed a turd. Yes, dog shit in the room. When I went downstairs and told the hotel staff they didn't say sorry or even acknowledge how gross that must of been. Instead they put us in another room that had clean floors but no microwave, no hot water for both days, and a non functioning coffee maker. By far the most disappointing Argosy experience. We were going to bring the entire family down in July and book 6 rooms for three days but now we will find a place at the Legends instead. liked the room besides the fact that the bed doesn't have fitted sheets, just a normal sheet tucked under the mattress. the tv guide was also broken when we stayed, so we had to flip through all of the channels individually to find one. there was also no room cleanings at all, if you left your towels in the hallway they'd pick them up but they expect you to go to the lobby and ask for towels/toilet paper/etc. the shower was nice! the beds were very comfy, as was the chair by the window. read more
