The more jaded amongst us will fail to recognize that this is a place that is needed and a great asset for the gay community. No, it isn't perfect, and there won't always be ten hot guys ready to blow you, but it is a very clean, friendly, and well managed business. Like every bathouse timing is everything, and you'll need to figure out the best time to visit which may take a few visits... but this place is very inexpensive. Things I like: The facility is well kept. Great mix of patrons. Great flow thru the building with some hidden nooks and crannies. I love the elevated glory hole viewing/sucking area. Very open and welcoming vibe. Friendly and attentive staff. Lots of booths with gloryholes. Large and open main play area. Things that could be better: The place seems a little too well lit, would be nice to have a little darker atmosphere. The music doesn't set a very sexy mood and the volume is too low. Better lighting in parking area. And finally... I'm not sure the men in Sacramento understand that this is a place where you can let go and express yourself... it is shockingly quiet with a lot of men just constantly cruising... even when guys are having sex they don't make a sound... this just seems odd to me but I'm very verbal and expressive... maybe it's because Sacramento is overall very conservative...? read more

I visited for the first time on a recent Saturday around 6-9 pm. It's a small place: only about 10 private rooms, a small steam room, and a moderately sized communal play area. There were 10-15 other guys there during the course of my stay. Not bad considering the time of day. Between showing off what I had to offer under my towel and being "fresh meat" for some obvious regulars at the place, I got a lot of attention very quickly. I played extensively with 3 guys, all separately. The crowd was as mixed racially as Sactown is and the average age was 50+. For what it is, this place is solid: it's clean and offers a decent play space. There are bigger baths out there that offer more elaborate amenities and play spaces, but that's just not Sac Buddies at this time. read more

Inside, nice vibe. lots of public area little rooms and cubbies and props for all the fantasies your mind can dream up. plentiful showers and locker area and private rooms. fairly dark with upbeat pop / dance playing. Went during a weekday so adjust expectations with #of patrons. but it wasn't empty! reading earlier review was concerned about how "small" it is. not really. there's plenty to explore, and it's in a maze like arrangement so if one room doesn't tickle your fancy there's plenty of others. Sac Buddies is a fun, well-run bathhouse. The facilities are simple and small, but have everything you would need -- showers, lockers, private rooms, and numerous play areas. There is no steam or sauna, but a nice outdoor area with an outdoor shower and play areas. First time going here, and probably the last time. This place is so cheaply constructed on the inside. You can see what looks like plywood sheets visible to the people. They don't offer anything for first timers. Like steamworks does which offers a free month if it's your first time there. So if you're driving from somewhere far to come here don't bother. Too much light too. It's not dark enough to mess around or feel more comfortable for a bathhouse?.... Very small too in comparison to steamworks. No sauna, no steam room, no jacuzzi. Only one bathroom. You have to wait for the person that's douching (which would take 10-15 mins or more), that's not cool. Plus it only has one peeing station too lol. And to say the least they close at 10 pm. That was very inconvenient for the amount of money they charge. Yup just not worth it. read more

So weird that I had been to the club at least 3x already since opening. First visit I only did a one time visit thinking I won't frequent the place. Next visit I paid my 6mo membership and had gone back at least twice with the normal entrance. Went back again this month (May) and told my membership expired already and shows only one visit with the one time entrance. Whatever happened to my 6 month membership and the two other visits? I like going there. It would be nice if anyone asks before they touch you. You sit down nude and it's like you are meat to them. It's possible that the people going there won't read this, hopefully it will help someone else before they go. Just because I'm nude doesn't make it okay in my opinion to be touched with out asking . fantastic place! staff was amazing! friendliest place like this I've been to. very Comfortable atmosphere. I loved hanging out on the patio and watching all the guys. cool retrofitted can in the playroom and had few hot encounters in the back of the van. This was a sunday afternoon and stayed til closing. The staff at Sac Buddies are wonderful and kind. The facility is great a work in progress they are always working to improve the experience. The people who are critical my not be old enough to remember the other two facilities in the bay area where also works in progress for decades before the evolved into what they are today.
