Was never really all that great unless you were a nearby teenager who thought it was sooooooooo cool to cruise the mall back in the day. Well it's no longer back in the day so I cruised the mall at lunchtime on a weekday! (wut up *gang sign*) At present, being lunchtime on a weekday, the parking lot is less than 20% full so park like a dork and take up three spaces with your nifty Honda if you want. Short walk to the front doors and there's an automatic slide door on the right as you enter the main set of doors. Service was fine. There's an Apple store for the fruity folks and trust me when I say go on a weekday at lunch time for no wait. It's true. Selection is getting thinner and thinner. Amazon is winning the war and it shows. Value...was there ever really a value coming to the mall? Delinquent youths aside, the value was partially social when this existed as an actual destination. And trust me, you can find it cheaper on Amazon...delivered to your door.

What I love about the shopping center, is that it generally is a one stop shopping experience for me. There are so many different stores, and it makes everything so convenient to get so much done First off, my beloved Trader Joe's anchors, one part of the shopping center, and there is a sprouts on the furthest end of the shopping center. Food, shopping, check! Then, there's a TJ Maxx, and Ulta, and Noah's bagels, and a number of other places to grab a bite to eat should you so feel inclined. I really wish that they would open up a Boba place somewhere in the center. I probably would never leave lol. There's a nail shop, a bank, and a chocolate shop that has now changed ownership. There is a mochi donut store that's getting ready to open! Great one stop shopping in town!

I'm very grateful that Town & Country has Trader Joe's and Sprouts Farmers Market together in the same shopping center. So convenient. Not to mention TJ Maxx is there together with Ross. The shopping center also has many places to eat and drink. Shopping, eating, drinking, and picking up the groceries all can be done in one stop in Town & Country Village Shopping Center. The location is convenient. But I do see homelessness in the area. I think this is the new normal for California now!

Some of my favorite places are: Williams & Sonoma, Talbots Petites, Soma, Pavilions Shoes & Gifts, Cafe Bernardo, Piatti Ristorante & Bar, & Wildwood Kitchen & Bar. I love the upper class feel to this shopping center. It's such a nice change from the usual chain store malls. Lots of original stores, shops and places to eat. Calm, casual shopping is more my thing and this is the place to get away from the crowds of pushy people with uncontrollable children and teenagers. While you won't find discount department stores here, they make up for it with specialty merchandise that you may not find anywhere else. The shops are neat and clean, with pleasant atmospheres. Employees are friendly, polite and acknowledging when we enter the door. While I have to admit that as I grow older and on a fixed income, shopping in general is losing it's luster, this place lights a romantic spark as to what classy shopping is all about!

There is Café Vinoteca, Chinois East West Café, and Danielle's Creperie. I grew up within walking distance of Arden Town and have very fond memories of the stationary store, the hardware store and the variety store that use to be there. I can also remember the meat counter at the Holiday Market and the large Bee that was on the sign. I remember my father buying me breakfast at Party Time Doughnuts on our way fishing. I remember the hours spent browsing through the Arden Library looking for the perfect adventure books to read. I remember getting taps on my shoes at the shoe repair when I was in elementary school and my sister and I having new heel pads put on our boots when we were in high school. Not too long ago my girl friend and I went to Danielle's Creperie for breakfast and after eating we needed to use the rest rooms. We were walking toward the restroom when I realized I was in what use to be an outdoor passage way outside of the old Arden Library and all of those wonderful childhood memories came flooding back. Loehmann's Plaza Shopping Center has been welcoming customers for a very long time. It is located in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento which is densely populated so Loehmann's is always busy. There are several entrances into the sprawling shopping center so drivers need to drive slowly and be cautious and alert. I have witnessed several fender benders in my time. There is something for everyone here. Save Mart is the grocery store anchor. Restaurants, service-oriented businesses (coffee, nail salon, pet food, bagels), so definitely a huge selection of whatever you might be looking for. Even a See's Candy store... my personal fav!:) Having a wide variety of businesses in one place is always a great value. Saves gas! Truth be told... Loehmann's really needs a face lift. A little sprucing up if you will. But I am not sure how that could be accomplished. In the meantime, check out the store/service directory if you are new to the area and take a moment to see if any of your favorite eateries or shopping stores might be listed. Oh! Last December Santa made an appearance at Loehmanns and it was a big hit. Happy shopping, eating, enjoying a cuppa coffee or picking up your favorite bundt cake. Cheers!

Even if it is a bit of a drive from our house, we do visit every now and then. The store is quite expansive, and quite well lit. Me and my poor eyes don't have to squint to read the fine print or even make use of my glasses. There's the odd item on the floor left behind by uncaring or reckless customers...especially on busy days, so a bit of care should be exercised when walking the aisles. The place does get crowded, especially on the weekends. Parking feels a bit limited, but of course, a public lot is never under the store's control. The price is reasonable. And the staff, if on hand, are very helpful...trying to be cheerful on crowded, busy days. There's a lot to see, so be prepared to spend an hour or more during your visit. Not a bad place to spend your time...and money.

A gentleman greeted me in the Men's section and asked if I needed help - he was kind while we chatted and brought me to the dressing room. That's the main reason this isn't a one star review. I was met by a tailor that measured my chest only and told me a number. I was confused, so I asked if they could do out seam or any other measurements, and explained that I called ahead to confirm I could get detailed measurements for a wedding suit rental. I even asked if I could pay. The tailor scoffed at me, shrugged, and said she couldn't help me. I get why they do it. It's been awhile since my involvement in a wedding but I walked into a big box store in the past (that wasn't associated with the wedding party) and they helped no questions asked. I'm going to assume it's a store or upper management policy Maybe the employee on the phone misunderstood my question, but the real issue was the dismissive nature from the tailor like I should know better. And to make it a whole review, they have a decent selection but I'm not buying from them, and the value wasn't there because I couldn't get what I thought was a basic service, even after offering to pay for it.
