Extremely disappointing experience - no site visit, months wasted, and order canceled due to their…read moreown oversight I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Atlantic Awning absolutely warrants one. I contacted them on September 3rd to fabricate and install a metal standing-seam awning over my front door. I provided them with an AI rendering as an approximation and gave them the rough dimensions. They then asked for an actual photo of my house, which I also provided. Based on those materials--NOT an in-person site visit--they asked me to choose the material and color so they could prepare a quote. On September 8th, I received the quote, and on September 9th I formally placed the order and paid a 50% deposit. They confirmed my order, told me they were putting it into production, had me choose a finalized color, and stated installation would be in 10-12 weeks. From that point forward, the communication went downhill. Throughout October and November, I followed up every couple of weeks to confirm the installation date, as I had other contractors scheduled. Each time I was told they did not yet have a date. My last follow-up was November 19th. Then, on November 21st, out of nowhere, I received an email stating that after "completing a detailed review of the installation area," they determined the clearance was too low for the metal awning and that they could not safely proceed. The most frustrating part? Atlantic Awning NEVER once came out to my home to conduct an actual site assessment. Their so-called "detailed review" was clearly done using nothing more than the photo I provided. Had they performed the most basic in-person evaluation--which any reputable installation company should do before accepting a deposit--they would have known this months earlier. Instead, they wasted over two months of my time, held up scheduling for my other contractors, and only at the 11th hour told me they couldn't do the job. Their "solution" was to offer a fabric awning, which is completely unsuitable for New England winters. I declined and requested a full refund. To their credit, they did eventually issue a refund check, which I received on November 26th, but the entire situation was avoidable. Bottom line: * No site visit--ever * They accepted a deposit and claimed production had begun without verifying the installation feasibility * Two months of delays with zero proactive communication * Order canceled only after I repeatedly followed up * A frustrating, avoidable waste of time I cannot recommend Atlantic Awning based on this experience. Any company that fabricates and installs custom structures should be doing actual, on-site evaluations before taking deposits or promising lead times. Had they done so, none of this would have happened.

Our store looks unbelievable and I can't tell you how many compliments we've gotten. It really dresses up the front of our storefront and this was a wise investment in our building. We considered canvas awnings because they are more budget friendly, but they start looking tired after two or three years in my opinion. Mark and the boys did a fantastic job and got it done in one day. Cheryl, the owner, who helped us with our initial order was nothing less than totally courteous and informative and professional. I can see why this company is kind of known as the "go-to" place for awnings in the area and I would not use anybody else. I've already recommended them to my brother for his business location because when he saw mine, he said "Where do I get one?" He demanded a 50% deposit up-front, which is illegal under Massachusetts state law (you may only request 33% before the start of any job). Due to unforeseen events, the project was canceled before any work was done on the sign. When I requested my deposit be returned... all $4000 of it ... he dodged me for a week then withheld almost $1,400; claiming it was payment for work already rendered. This was obviously a lie since he did NO WORK other than a simple graphic design presentation ... which all sign manufacturers provide for free considering the work is minimal. However, the owner is incredibly stupid, so it's possible it took him several hours to complete such a basic task. Regardless, I now need to sue him just to recoup my stolen money. ACME definitely lives up to its name ...it's a joke.
