This place is designed for spiritual practice with rooms for meditation. A very peaceful environment for your inner self. My kids and I found the sculptures really interesting so we took pictures for memory. We even found a road runner along the way which followed us underneath a tree tunnel. The grounds were extremely beautiful with a small pond area. You can have lunch at the cafe, but it wasn't open when we visited. It's a must you check out their gift shop because two kind ladies assisted warmly greeting us upon entering the store. They sold jewelry, t-shirts, so many arts, keychains, and so much more. The knowledge you gain here is like you're born again. I don't mean that in a religious way, it's the knowledge we gain while here. Things that have been suppressed for years will come to the surface and you have to deal with it. My best friend died of a heart attack a week after her mom died. I never dealt with their deaths.... until I came here. During one of my sessions, I had a connection with both of them and cried. Those tears gave me the closure I yearned for. Wednesdays at 1:30 we gather at Pan Pacific Park to get our Qi on. So far we have gone over Yang Style 24 Form, and we also started learning some Ba Gua, as well as doing a lot of qi building foundational exercises. He gives us homework too so we have things to work on at home to keep building the qi. It's so nice to take advantage of living in LA by actually getting outside in the nice weather once a week, I highly recommend it. We also have videos that we can watch at home to help with the practice, which is good because I don't have the best memory. If you become a student, Dr. Singh may let you see his very impressive Tai Chi video in which he performs difficult feats with the strength of his qi. They are of the "Do not try this at home" variety, and definitely make you realize the power of internal cultivation. The retreat was cool to walk through, nice pool area, which we didn't have a chance to use! We were only there one night, but it would be a perfect homebase for a few days exploring the area.
