I would not recommend Rome Pool and Spa based on my experience…read more Initially, I was very disappointed with the poor communication that occurred leading up to the installation of my liner. They then installed a new liner in my pool, but during the installation my pool frame was damaged. After discovering the damage, I immediately contacted them to notify them of the damage. The management (Beth) was unreceptive to request to assess the damage and I made multiple requests to attempt to rectify the situation by repeatedly asking to have them come back and assess the issue. Rather than taking the time to inspect what happened, they were dismissive and unprofessional throughout the entire process. Instead of accepting any responsibility or even investigating the damage, they blamed the winter weather, suggesting that leek and fold in the frame following the liner installation, was a result of rust never brought to my attention and winter wear and tear. Those explanations made little sense given the circumstances, and they seemed more interested in avoiding responsibility than helping resolve the problem. especially since a new liner should never leak. Good customer service doesn't end when the job is finished--it includes standing behind your work if something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this company refused to cooperate in any meaningful way or work toward a fair resolution. If you're looking for a company that stands behind its workmanship and treats customers professionally after the sale, this was not my experience.

I love the indoor running track and wish I had a similar option at home. This is a million times better than running on a treadmill! I've enjoyed it on rainy summer days as well as snowy winter mornings. The fitness center is also very nice and quite large. There is ample equipment and it is extremely clean. I like the Clorox (or Lysol) wipe stations available throughout the facility. There are plenty of mirrors for checking form when lifting and lots of cardio equipment options. Additionally, I enjoyed the large glass windows when I used the treadmill one winter morning. The view is spectacular! The fitness center and running track are the only options I've taken advantage of when in town; however, the class schedule and rock climbing wall both look dynamite. I may give either or both a whirl when I return this summer. Lots of options are available so check it out online and day and weekly passes are available for purchase. The staff is very friendly and helpful when determining when the courts are free for students and are accommodating when you need to chance a time or cancel last minute. The courts are extremely well maintained and they even offer classes on an individual and group basis! If you are in need of renting a tennis court definitely come here!

The top floor is dedicated to machines (cardio and isolation resistance training) and the bottom floor is dedicated to Olympic lifts, free weights, and bar weights. So naturally the top floor is friendly for people of all body types; people don't have to worry about being intimidated, judged, or having to deal with meat-head behavior (like excessive grunting). The bottom floor is where the intense (potentially aspiring) muscle men and women go, and they don't have to be bothered by people who are less intense about excercise than them. The gym does get crowded, but far less than Noyes or Helen Newman. I have never had to wait for a treadmill longer than 1 hour here. Most of the time you can sign up for a spot within 30 minutes of your arrival, so you can comfortably do a little resistance training before your cardio workout without waiting endlessly afterwards (like you have to at Noyes).

Teagle is conveniently located on campus, so students and staff can go better classes or right after class. The only negative of the building is the locker rooms. They are pretty outdated and several of the toilets and sinks are in pretty bad shape. The locker rooms could use a renovation. As far as the workout facilities though, there is a large range of equipment and plenty of space.

Twin Ponds itself is very scenic and well kept, and notably contains two bodies of water from which the name is derived. The wooded surroundings are consistent and broken up only by occasional homes on the perimeter of course. The fairways are relatively straight and moderate in distance for par. Greens play true, albeit sometimes fast in the heat of the summer. Overall, a great course for novice and skilled players alike. My experiences have always been positive when having a golf outing or special event - for which they also exceed expectations. The gardens are beautiful and provide an ample location for photo taking. The large ballroom contains a circular bar and panoramic windows offering great views. It's a great atmosphere inside the facility as the open layout makes it easy for guests to mingle. The food never disappoints, although I can't say I've had a great deal of variety from recent memory. Overall, a great place to spend a day golfing or to forge a lasting memory with family and friends. I consider this club a 'hidden gem' within the greater city of Utica and would highly recommend it.
