Did you know they have a superior summer camp they run at Point Loma Nazarene University? I came across it on a walk and was so impressed with the way staff was handling the camp population and visitors. I spoke with some young men from all over San Diego and Las Vegas! They were having the "best time of their year" they said and love staying in the dorms and meeting so many other young people of faith. I saw cornhole games and ping pong tables by the library and other games scattered around campus. There were also many chaperones and information tables set up for check ins and safety. As we approached the front of the MT, someone was about to pull out of a parking spot. PARKING KARMA. We took some pictures outside first, and let me say, let me compliment the MORMONS FOR the Missionaries out front to help with Pictures We got to the TENT, and split up. I went on ELEVATOR TOUR, Gonzalo went on the STAIR TOUR. My Guide was DAVE, and my 2 Helpers were TRACE AND JONAS. In the temple, No Walkers. I was pushed in one of their Wheelchairs, by my 2 Helpers. I have to compliment the MORMONS, AGAIN!!! My Helpers were Friendly, Courteous, and more than willing to go out of their way to HELP!!! I was in a small group of 10 People, seeing Locker Rooms, Sealing Rooms, Marriage Rooms, AND MUI, MUCH MORE!!! It was a 40-50 Minute Tour, AND AMAZING.

Normally, you cannot enter the temple unless you are LDS/Mormon, but for some reason (after a major refurbishment project), heathens may do so now for a short time. I think you have until July 11 (2026) to get in there. They suggest you make a reservation but no one asks for your ticket so I would say, just show up. There is free parking with a free very nice shuttle bus, with parking information found on the church website. Before you enter, some child laborers at the entrance put booties on everyone. Also, no photos are allowed inside and I respected that rule. The building feels much bigger from the outside than it does inside. It is very, very white and modern inside. Honestly, in some parts, it felt like a hotel. There are interesting rooms throughout, most particularly, the baptismal room. That one is pretty wild. The whole tour, if you want to call it that, takes about 45 minutes. There is no indoctrination but you will hear a bit about JC, which shouldn't be a surprise. There are tons of LDS members outside and throughout the interior of the building to guide you and give you a little background on what you are seeing. It is extremely well organized. Is it worth it? I think so. Who knows if you will ever be allowed back in?

Although it is small and the parking may not be ideal at times, I understand that they are in the midst of finding a home to accommodate everyone and those new like myself. In the last 3 years, we have developed strong relationships with friends, been fed spiritually in numerous growth groups, and become plugged in to serve the church in the worship, childcare, and production teams. We love this church so much, we love its people, we love its commitment to spiritual growth and outreach, and we love how it has equipped us to commit to putting Jesus at the center of our lives and our marriage.
