It's like a big freakin' warehouse! My shopping habits really depend on my mood. If I'm in a rummaging mood with money to spend I go to Saddlery Liquidators. They have sooo much horse related stuff. And, you can usually find it cheaper than other brick and mortar stores like Dover and Tack Box. I come here to get wormers, grooming supplies and leather cleaners because I can count on Liquidators to have the lowest prices. But again, it's basically a warehouse. I have a hard time trying on breeches in the summer because it can get so hot! They have a lot of overstocked riding apparel in varying sizes. If I don't make a list of things to buy, I end up spending a lot more because everything is marked down and I find thing I didn't know I needed until I walked in the door! I am SUCH a woman. However, sometimes when I am shopping for riding apparel I find myself overwhelmed by all the racks. Or I couldn't find what I wanted in my size. And if I'm not in the rummaging mood, screw it - I'll shop online. As far as customer service, Mark is pretty much the best. Other staff are happy to help too if you need it. read more

It's hard to believe that in all my years around horses this is the first time I've been to SL2. Wow! They have pretty much anything you could want for your equine needs- minus feed. Halters, tack, first aid, clothing, shoes, wraps, blankets, dog supplies, helmets- to list a few. The prices seem competitive as well. The moment I walked in I was greeted by the people at the front. Mackenzie helped me find the right blankets for my two guys. She knows her stuff! Seriously, I have never met anyone who knows more about horse blankets in 30 yrs. She wasn't pushy at all and helped explain the pros and cons of each blanket. And the best part, if the blanket doesn't end up fitting, I can bring it back. I will absolutely be back! If you're a horse person, visiting Saddlery Liquidators is like turning a kid loose in a candy store. Marc is wonderful and you must say "Hi" to Babs the bulldog. He and his staff are very helpful without being intrusive. The warehouse is HUGE. Don't think you can just pop in and pop out. Too much to see! You will find all levels of quality, from basic schooling quality to premium show quality goods. You will find name brands and off-label brands. Remember, this is a Liquidation store. A large part of their inventory is purchased from other places that are going out of business. They also carry standard goods like fly sprays, wormers, hardware, saddle cleaners, etc. If you are someone who cannot function without someone holding your hand through the entire shopping process, you probably won't appreciate this store. Go pay boutique prices someplace else and let someone do your thinking for you. If you enjoy rummaging around looking for treasures and bargains for you and your horse, you will LOVE it here! read more

The staffing these days is less than desirable. Marc is great, but I wouldn't ask for help from anyone else. I recently went in there to get a few supplements and look at some driving tack. The sales associate thought that I could drive in a vaulting surcingle (though I would never use it for vaulting). I understand that driving isn't really a popular sport, but when I ask for a driving HARNESS, I don't want a surcingle. She was very adamant that it was suitable for driving. After my past view visits I've decided to start shopping elsewhere, it was my last resort to find discontinued items or super cheap no-name products, but I'm better of shopping online. Previous review: Marc is always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He can always find you exactly what you need, and if he doesn't have it he can most likely get it for you! His staff is always friendly and always willing to give great advice. It's also the only tack shop in the area that regularly has a wide selection of western tack and apparel. read more

For people who know what they want, don't mind a little sorting thru bins to find your size, and appreciate a heck of a deal on quality products, good advice, friendly customer service and saving a few bucks when u can, THIS STORE IS FOR YOU! They are usually cheaper and they price match. There is also a store in Middleburg in the same building that Mosby's Tavern used to be in. The Middleburg store is much smaller and doesn't have saddles but they still beat prices at the Tack Box anyday. The Haymarket is a MUST SEE! It is the biggest tack store I have ever seen. read more

This is one of the only horse retail stores I will go to. I usually hate shopping because of overbearing sales people and feeling the need to buy something. It's basically a giant warehouse, always offering good deals on whatever I find. However sometimes I don't buy something, I just need a different perspective on horse related things and the staff there always seems to have the answer! My son rides and I have bought everything he's ever needed from Marc at saddlery liquidators. I recently got the chance to visit Saddlery Liquidators' store in Haymarket, Virginia and I can honestly say it's hard to know where to start singing praise for them. For a horse lover (and owner) like myself and the friend who was with me at the time, just walking in the store and taking in the 20,000sf is nearly overwhelming! The selection is amazing, very thoughtfully organized despite the immense quantities of items available for purchase. While the prices are already low, there were literally THOUSANDS of items marked with an extra 25 to 50% off the original prices! One day was certainly not enough to cover the whole store! The staff are wonderful, courteous and readily available despite being greatly outnumbered by the ratio of inventory and customers! The management is top of the line, extremely generous and very welcoming. This is my new favorite tack store and I cannot wait to check out their Middleburg store in the coming months! read more

Even the times I go in looking for an odd size or color that they don't have in stock, Marc will get it overnighted! I LOVE THIS PLACE! The staff is friendly and really knows their stuff. I always get great customer service...even the day that I went in and needed help finding a helmet for my oddly-shaped noggin. Dorothy was very kind and spent at least half an hour helping me find something that worked well for me. I love their selection and prices, too. I have bought several pair of boots here and any kind of tack or horse supply that you can imagine. Gift certificates are available, too, and are super handy!
