I'm an active licensed CA attorney myself and the one time I needed an attorney I went to Saeedian Law Group. SLG's principal is exactly the kind of lawyer you want on your side and you will be relieved SLG isn't who's on the other side. The reality is--especially when an insurance company is involved--you're likely to get 3x as much if you have a lawyer versus trying to "be a good person who doesn't want to involve lawyers." The other side has an army of lawyers already on their side, don't be naive, get a lawyer. And not just any lawyer, one like SLG. I was in a car accident when I retained SLG. SLG immediately got me set up with the medical care I needed (X-rays, exams) and then arranged for my physical therapy to begin (3x/week for 8 weeks)--this cost me NOTHING. Oh yeah, SLG arranged to have my car diagnosed and fixed too--and got me a rental car--again no up front cost to me. Sometimes these cases--especially with insurance companies (because that's part of their game) a claim can drag on but in just a few months SLG obtained a settlement for me I thought was more than reasonable and I never had to pay for anything.
