This was my first time using a moving company and I did not know what to expect, but I could not have imagined just how awful and stressful this whole process would be. This is technically my second review, after I left a review detailing how bad of an experience I had before they had even picked up my stuff. Which was taken down in exchange for the movers actually showing up on the date that I had tried to book them for. To no one's surprise, the experience never got better after that. To begin with and recap the original review, I had called and explicitly stated multiple times that I wanted to book this company with a move out date of October 30th and a move in date of November 1st. While on the phone with Alexandra I was offered a competitive price and the rapport was excellent enough for me to feel semi confident about booking the company. I signed the documents while talking on the phone with her and missed that she had put my move out date as the 31st-1st. I messaged her after this mentioning the 30th date in text, and it still was not caught that the date was wrong until I got a call from the dispatch driver two days before I was supposed to move. I also found out on this call that I had not been booked a direct move like I had been led to believe. I had a hard deadline of being 12 hours away on the 1st of November, and it was only after I left the aforementioned review that the movers did indeed show up on the 30th of October. However, this was after the agents lied to me and originally said they would be there by 1pm. And then called me back to say it would be 5-7pm but likely earlier than that as that time was just to make sure they weren't late. The first mover showed up at 8pm, the second at 8:30pm. I also now know why there's reviews talking about avoiding moving companies that use third party movers. The entire process of dealing with the actual movers felt like one constant scam and was extremely unprofessional. I paid the dispatch agent by Zelle because he originally sent me a PayPal link that was asking for a "donation". I could hear one of the movers talking on his phone while moving my stuff and got to hear him tell his friend about how he only took the job because he had a negative balance in his bank account and desperately needed the money. I cannot express how unnerving letting these people take my stuff was, but it was also 8:45pm and I needed to get started on my 12 hour drive and needed to get the move out over with. I was explicitly told this would be a full service move, and that the movers would take apart my furniture for me. I packed my own boxes, but none of my furniture was taken apart or wrapped or protected in any way. I am currently waiting to see how much damage was done to my stuff in transit and highly suspect I will need to update this to include broken and missing items. After my stuff was packed I had to wait with the movers, who had no idea where they were supposed to be going with my items, and repeatedly asked me for the address. After they did get the location from dispatch they asked me to "follow behind the moving truck in my car". I again cannot express enough how much these people felt like a scam, but asking a single woman to follow behind two men at 9:45pm to an undisclosed location really did not make me feel any better about the experience. After finally getting through the move out, it has now been 3 weeks since I was originally expecting to get my items. And two weeks since the date I was given once they told me I hadn't paid for a direct move. This includes one week of being told they just couldn't get ahold of the driver (again, after the very sketchy move out). They also lied to me again to tell me the movers would "definitely" be here this week, saying it would be Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. There has been a repeated pattern of the agent lying to me, seemingly to placate me and/or buy the company time to keep delaying my dates. I should be getting my things next week, but I still don't truly have much faith in that happening. I also am expecting damage and missing items just based on how badly everything else has been going. I'll be reporting the company to the BBB, and have already told many people to avoid this company at all costs. Truly, this was such a horrendous and stressful experience and I hope to never have to go through this again. It would be easier to do the move by yourself than book with this company. read more

If you have money to flush, then hire these people.. I paid $5,508.50 for a car haul, storage shed at my home (medium size), PAID FOR 50 LARGE BOXES.. a few large items in my home (hope chest, kitchen table & chairs, sofa table, 65" TV, clock, and a large cabinet in my bedroom. WELLLLL.... ALL they took on the truck - which arrived fully loaded when they arrived was... ARE YOU READY?! 5 Boxes.. FIVE out of FIFTY (50) a ladder, and an egg chair.. THATS IT! Also, they Subcontract out to other companies who want money when they arrive on top of the money you pay these people! The car was supposed to be $1,000.00 but because they didn't take ANY of the items listed, I put the TV in my car... they charged an additional $200.00 and said, the car was too heavy with the TV in it, that they were supposed to take on their truck.. so a 65" TV made my car weigh down huh?! Oooohhhkay! Sold the home, had to be out, and LOST ALL MY ITEMS! They told me weeks ago they would call me back but still haven't.. the movers that showed up, which was NOT THIS COMPANY made ME go through and load FIVE of their boxes with what I wanted.. so I got put to work and paid them to do it... Check reviews and the BBB! Believe the BBB they do this to EVERYONE! You're not excluded either.... I'm out 5500 and got an 1/8 of my home items... If I could rate this company truthfully... it's a negative Five stars.. im trying to help someone else not waste their money and lose your items or go broke and still lose 90% of your home... if there was a way I could email ANY of you proof , I would... however, the BBB probably can... Our move was to include the transportation of a vehicle - day of the move, no transport had been set up and we had to drive the vehicle ourselves. Watch out for the "cubic feet" up charge. We argued with the movers for two hours over the L-Sectional verses a couch. The brokers (who estimate the costs) said they listed the sectional, the movers said their list only have a couch, we were allotted 35 boxes, we had 22 (most medium, six were large) we were charged extra.......we ended up paying $1,100.00 more than originally quoted and the car had to be driven the 1800 miles. During the process we were promised a refund would be issued - the movers had the furniture packed/wrapped and said they did their part, we either accepted and paid or they would unwrap the furniture (which we would have to pay for) and they would leave-they earned their part of the costs. Get several bids and read the reviews - this was a horrible experience and the refund they are offering is $50.00. That does not even cover one tank of gas!!!! Irene, You may never look at your post again. I am George M. above with a similar experience. I have owned by own trucking company in West Texas and the short of it, as you said you get what you pay for, sometimes less. I had items picked up in Houston Texas, headed to San Diego, for my son. I had a very similar experience. The movers showed up barefooted, 2 of them. They told me they lived in Las Vegas and this was their only delivery. Then the issues begin, same folks, names of personnel you were dealing with. Maybe because I pressed them the most, squeaky wheel gets the grease, I finally got routed to the main guy that could actually do something. His name is Evgenity. I cannot pronounce his name, but he finally made a difference. So first, and this is key. This company is a brokage firm, they own no trucks and have no employees, other than the people that work in the office, maybe some on commission only, which makes them independent contractors. They work off what is called a "load board" plus calls they receive. That is where they make their money. So they are at the mercy of whomever they "employee" to move your stuff, my stuff. Basically, they are not really in control of the delivery. My son's stuff like yours ended up in Las Vegas first. I had the drivers cell numbers and at one point he went radio silent. He promised me a date, or the next day which was like 4 days after the pick up. On the day they were to deliver, he texted me and told me, on a Sunday, he and his driver were having a "dispute" with their company and they were headed home, to Las Vegas. Evgenity did all he could and at the end of the day, he resolved the issue, but it was extremely painful. Like you starting school, you have timelines, so you have control over certain events and others you don't. But when you depend on others, you take them for their word. Unfortunately, often time we are disappointed with the results. I only have Evgenity to thank for the outcome, however late it was, he made a difference. I never write a review unless my experience is really amazing or really terrible. My review does not apply to Victoria, the only staff member that was trying to be as helpful and communicative as possible towards the end of my use of Sobe relocations. My move was from California to Kansas. When I first hired this company, everything started great, the bill of landing was created quickly, the movers came quickly and efficiently, the staff member at the time, Amanda (who I later find out through yelp no longer works there), felt really human and was very kind is the one who first reached out to me and ultimately why I decided Sobe along with them giving me the lowest estimate between 4 other companies I looked into. You pay for what you get and I regret not paying more for a better company. After my items were picked up 7/15/24, everything exponentially began to go terrible. My earlier date for available delivery was 7/16. Amanda had told me it would take at most 10-14 days for my items to be delivered. I started medical school 7/29 so I was expecting my items to be delivered before I began school. I had also asked Amanda if the people picking up and delivering my things were their employees or contractors, because I did not want to use brokers or a third party contracting company. I now know Amanda lied to me. After a few days of signing the bill of landing, Amanda, who previously said I can text or call her for any reason regarding my move, stops responding and answering my calls. I call customer service and somehow get connected to Vanessa who would then be my new customer service rep. Again, not being told of this change or being formally introduced to my new rep. I said okay, well moving on I still had hope in the company, I give my availability to Vanessa for 3 weeks straight. She keeps telling me she'll get back to me with an update but did not or only give me a vague response that they're still waiting. Finally around 2-3 weeks after the pick up, I find out by call customer service (not from Vanessa) that my things were taken to the Las Vegas warehouse while they wait for a driver from Texas to pick my things and that any day now I would have my things. All something I wish I was informed of instead of digging for this information. All of the sudden Vanessa stop responding to my texts and stops answering my phone calls. This is where Victoria tells me she is no longer with the company, which I wish Vanessa or someone would have told me instead me digging for this information. This entire time it's past the time frame I'm told I will receive my things. Not 1 but 2 of the reps assigned to me no longer work with the company, I was having panic attacks that I was being scammed. I was not kept informed about my personal items unless I made the effort to get information with the little time I have now in school. For weeks I had the anxiety that I was being scammed due to the terrible communication this company had with me. Finally, a month later, my items were delivered on Monday the 13th at 11:30PM. Highly inconvenient and unprofessional time and was charged an extra 100$ by the carrier. However, My problem is not with the carrier. I was overjoyed to at least have my things that I had no energy to fight with him over how late he arrived when he originally told me noon on Monday or Tuesday and about the extra 100$. Once receiving our things the carrier informs me of things that are broken. He tells me he had not touched them only pick up the semi box, my items were packed before then. The one piece of furniture I cared about is one of the pieces of furniture that is broken. I will possibly be given only 60 cents per pound. How they will calculate that or approve that I do not care anymore. I am just happy I have my things after all this anxiety, horrible communication, and lies. The manager is too busy to speak to me so I left my concerns and complaint with Victoria so they are aware of my feelings. I do not recommend this company due to its lack of communication and lack of efficiency in delivering items. It is hurtful to have gone through all these things while trying to study for exams. I wholeheartedly regret using this company, and I hope you do not use them for long cross country moves. Maybe they do better in shorter distance moves, but DO NOT use for long moves. I will end with thanking Victoria for trying her best while working for this terrible company and helping me in a very stressful time. read more

Sobe Relocation are liars .. especially a man named, Mathew. "He called me"regarding my need for a mover and negotiated with me a price of $2190.00 to move three small pieces of furniture and some pictures. However, when the actually movers arrived on day of pickup (4 hrs late), they said they would do it for "nothing less that 3,600.00." We immediately called mathew and told him, but he did nothing to help so we cancelled the movers due to breach of contract. Yet Sobe Relocation threatened us and still tried to keep the 750.00 deposit ... (which we had to dispute in our credit card- which is still pending). They are absolute criminals and especially Mathew, who is on the top of list, as he would not return any calls or texts regarding our 750.00 deposit. They should be ashamed of themselves read more

Literally the worst company I have ever worked with, and my long distance move is not even completed yet. This is day one. Can't imagine what's to come. Unfortunately the customer service was great in the beginning, so didn't realize what a nightmare this was going to be until the actual moving day. They tried to uncharged me for EVERYTHING, want against their original estimate, and when workers arrived they were so rude and don't speak English. They also don't tell you that they outsource your entire move to Better Movers, which are definitely not better. I was assured at the time of booking when I spoke with Matt that I would "always be able to get ahold of a customer service representative ", of course on the day of the move he's nowhere to be found. Spend the extra money and go with someone else. At this point, I'm not even confident my stuff will make it to TN. This company is incredibly shady and under no circumstances can be trusted. I will update once in TN. Updated to Add: thr company went from bad to worst! They told me I went over my alotted square footage, and when I questioned it and told them I wanted measurements they refused and threw all my stuff out of the truck! I got nowhere with Victoria and their alleged operations manager as they just continuously tried to lie and gaslight me. They also ruined personal property as they threw things out of the truck. The worst company ever, run any other direction. I originally called them after having three other quotes in hand from other companies... Alexandra gave me the price of '2600' dollars & assured me that was all & that I wouldn't need to tip. I moved 5 hours away for reference by the way from a small three bedroom townhome - no couches no tables . just three beds and three dressers then of course boxes ( about 80). Moving weekend approached and on Friday I get a call from quality control who now tells me my price is 5300 dollars. I was so mad but nothing I could do - moving day was Sunday. Sunday the movers arrived and were nice and start packing their truck... they have the truck LOADED ready to go then tell us the price is now $7300 & they will not deliver until next day. we were never told it was a two day move so now we had to stay in a hotel. ( another $300) They met us at our new home the next day and would NOT unload the truck until $7300 was paid . FIVE THOUSAND MORE THAN QUOTE . We pay it because they were holding our stuff hostage in the truck until paid . When they finished unpacking the truck... the guys come in and ask where there tip is!!!! I'll start by saying if I could give a negative star rating I would. They don't even deserve a star rating. They will lie to you, under estimate (by at least half), and then the movers they hire will be rude, damage your property, and heckle you for a tip. "Stress free" moving indicates more stress than you could possibly imagine, your last dollar spent, and snakeoil sales representatives and a lack of customer service given by people like Matthew and Victoria. We have been in a claim for over a month now and Victoria seems to think she is above us and thinks we are in the wrong, not even listening to the recorded calls which would clear that up and prove what the salespeople are actually saying while Matthew took his commission and we could never get him on the phone again. Our second truck we had to hire because their movers didn't even load the items (thank goodness we went back to the SOLD house because half our move was there) hasn't even arrived yet and we can't even get an eta on where it is or when it will be here.... It has been over 3 weeks. RUN RUN RUN and find yourself an actually honest moving company or do it yourselves. They can only lie about their "At business bureau rating" for so long... read more

I moved my parents' stuff from California to Houston, Texas with Sobe Relocation, and i was speaking to sales person called Matthew. I needed the items delivered by July 20th, and I got them today, so thanks to the team, because for me the timeframe was very important. There were a few mistakes along the way - the movers arrived 2 hours earlier than i was expecting them for pickup but they waited for me, so its fine. Sometimes it was hard to reach customer service during the evening time, but they were calling me back at the morning. Overall my experience was good. read more

I booked Sobe 4 weeks ago. I originally had them scheduled to come on to my parents home on the 10th of July. My father died the week before so I rescheduled for 16/17 July. I received a call from Amanda on Monday the 15th. Amanda was incredibly rude and dismissive. I sent an email to Nick who I was previously dealing with asking a few questions and letting him know that I wouldn't be accepting any calls from Amanda anymore. Nick forwarded my email to Amanda and I received a 1 word reply from her. I asked several questions and wanted to make a payment. Her email simply stated "No". I spoke with Vanessa and she stated that Amanda is not longer with the company, but I received an email from Amanda later the same day. On the day of pickup I received a call at 0935 saying the movers would be at my mother's home between 1200-1230. At 1330 I called and was told that the truck was stuck on a bigger job, but that they would be here in a few hours. At 1700 I called and was told it would be a couple of more hours. At 1838 I received a call stating the driver was in an accident and would not be able to pick up my House Hold Goods as scheduled. I asked Vanessa for a police report number so that I could use that because I needed to cancel our flights without penalty and she was unable to give me any information. At 2014 I received a call from the driver who had apparently been in an accident telling me he was 14 minutes away. At 2130 the driver finally showed up to my mother's house alone. He stated that he is unable to do the job because he didn't have anyone available to help him load up my mother's HHG! He stated he would try to find help and would get back to me first thing in the morning. I received a text message at 0627 telling me that the drivers were 20 minutes away from my mother's home. While the new drivers were here the original driver called to tell me that he will be at my mother's home in 20 minutes. I told him that I had another moving company here and they were almost done. If you're moving and looking for a company to help, I would avoid Sobe. Their customer service is terrible, they lie and they don't do what they are paid to do. I shouldn't have to be this stressed out after losing my father because this company is run so poorly. read more
