FYI - do not expect good customer service if the tech makes an unfortunate mistake while installing your windshield. After waiting 2 weeks and prepaying, the technician makes a mistake while installing the windshield [hey it happens] but - another week and a half wait before they bother getting back with me to reinstall? - no way right? I will be taken care of first right? safelite is going to make it right! - heck they will expedite a windshield to me and get a tech to work over if necessary to install it right? customer service right? - NAH-- back of the bus buddy you prepaid - have a nice additional 1 1/2 week wait! Dishonest, incompetent and very poor communication. They tell you they do not have your glass while other companies have it. I'm still receiving emails they're waiting for my windshield because of a shortage. We will never use them again. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I made my appointment 2 weeks in advance. Took a personal day off work to get this done and when I arrived they gave me a wait time of 1hr and 30 minutes. I told the assistant manager I was going to leave to run an errand and I would expect a call once my car was completed. She told me I would receive and call or text... 3 hours later I had received NO CALL NO TEXT. I tired calling the store but they don't allow you to talk to anyone at the store, it goes right to a voicemail. So I had to get an Uber to the store. Meanwhile as I'm calling the answering machine says the store is CLOSED. As you can assume I'm freaking out thinking no one called and now I can't get my car back. After paying an Uber to drive me to the store they were open thank goodness but the hours are wrong!!! After speaking with the assistant manager she told me the car was finished and I needed to pay. After paying she gave me my keys and I walked out to my windshield in the SAME CONDITION I left it... No one called to let me no this and they had no problem talking my money. After walking back inside the manager had ZERO idea my car wasn't worked on. Come to find out the tech didn't have my windshield in stock and no one communicated anything to anyone! Absolutely horrible costumer service and the way they didn't even care about my frustrations was so disrespectful. They knew about my appointment 2 weeks in advance! They don't care at all about your personal time or money! I have requested multiple times for the manager to call me and make this right but I have heard nothing. No call from this store to TRY to make this right. THEY DON'T CARE! It's unfortunate and sad that even after they read this review there comment back will be the same as all the others. "Sorry for this inconvenience, we will talk with our team" No they won't. If they did the experience would've been completely different and this review wouldn't be necessary. There really should be a zero rating. I recommend never to replace your OEM windshields with any of Safelite windshields if at all possible. Safelite windshields are very cheap windshields. I made a mistake because I listened to them and replaced my OEM windshield with their cheap windshield after they screwed up 2 rock chips. It's amazing that you take all he liability and they take no responsibility even for their poor quality work. read more

As far as quality, you can't beat them. They are slow as shit though. Came in for a 2:00 appointment at 1:30. At 2:20 they took the truck back. I figured the time I had wasted so far was probably indicative of this place. I decided to Uber home. I was told about an hour. Called at 4:45 to see if it was ready. They said 20 mins. Showed up 45 mins later to make sure I had given them enough time. I was wrong. They had just started to repair the chips in the glass when I arrived. They are professional and apologetic, but still, this is ridiculous. read more

I filed my claim in early August and I still don't have a full windshield replacement today October 27th 2020. The first time a tech was supposed to come out and replace the windshield he had the wrong windshield, so I gave them my vin number to order the correct windshield. Next there was a four week delay on my windshield it was stuck in customs. Then they canceled my appointment three weeks in a row due to a family emergency. Finally they show up with a windshield and install the wrong windshield. The tech told me the windshield was warped so they have to order a new windshield. The manager will call me and make arrangements. Due to the wrong install there were many pieces the tech could not put back on my car. I waited a few days for the manager to call- she never called. When I called she said her assistant put notes in the claim that I went with another provider. I said why would I do that when you all have messed this install up. She apologized and said she was sending someone out tomorrow to install a new windshield. The tech came out the next day to install a windshield for a 2016 Range Rover from a claim I filed in 2017 with the company. I'm not sure how this happened when the current claim is for a 2020 Range Rover. I called the manager again and she apologized and said she is ordering the correct windshield and it will not be in until the end of October- meanwhile I am driving around with a bunch of missing pieces from my car. Finally I get the right windshield installed on 10/21 for a claim filed in early August and the pieces to reattach my front camera/safety system to the mirror are missing. As of today 10/27 I have been driving my vehicle with multiple safety alerts that will not clear because the entire front safety system is not working properly due to no camera being installed. The manager still has not called me back her assistant told me she rushed ordered my part. Rush orders are normally delivered the next day. I have never experienced customer service on this level before. I would give them zero stars if I could. The only positive thing about this experience is the last tech they sent out on 10/21 to install the windshield. He actually measured to make sure he was installing the correct windshield. It's not his fault the previous tech lost pieces to my car. I really don't understand how this happens when I provided the vin number to order the correct windshield. I would rate them ZERO STARS if it was possible. Please have the manager call me so I can finish this never ending install and drive my car with all my safety features. read more

I actually researched why my scratch not even a crack split because your facility did not make sure my glass was dried fully and make sure the temp was not correct . It was raining the day I brought it in and literally the guy came out less then 5 mins so he did ruin my windshield. I took it to another shop and they saw my original scratch and said the same thing I'm saying now. read more

I was referred to this business by my insurance to replace a cracked windshield. The first technician's window of service was 8 am to 5pm. He showed up around 3 pm with 5 minutes notice. He claimed the only glass on his truck was scratched and tried to persuade me to install it anyway. I said I would wait till new Unscratched glass was available. At the next appointment they installed another piece of scratched glass without my permission. The scratch is down the middle and ten inches long. read more

We contacted the Katy Safelite facility on February 3 to set up an appointment for windshield replacement. We were given an appointment for Saturday, February 12. Before our scheduled appointment, we received several appointment reminders via text message. We dropped of our vehicle at the appointed time on February 12. Forty minutes later, we received a call that our replacement window was not in stock. We were asked if we just wanted to leave our vehicle at the facility over the weekend, since everything would be handled on Monday. We decided to go pickup our vehicle and advised them to call us on Monday as soon as they knew the windshield was in fact delivered. Monday came and went with no call from them. We decided to call them (combined total of 10 calls until someone would answer). The manager stated the windshield did not arrive but might possibly be on the 5-6 pm delivery truck. They would call to let us know. They never called. We contacted our insurance company and they agreed we should take our vehicle elsewhere for service. We already have an appointment at the dealer and they verified all the parts are in stock, and they will handle the recalibration which Safelite cannot do. I believe Safelite is a reputable company, overall, but cannot recommend this location. Highly recommend you look elsewhere for window replacement/repair and save yourself the aggravation. I mean why would they have us come in and drop off our car when they do not have the windshield? Shouldn't that be done in advance? Why wait until after we drop of the car to let us know this? Why does no one answer the phone? Why do they not contact us when they say they will do so? It's not just about a part not coming in as expected. So many areas need improvement. read more

Took my truck here after I caught a rock that cracked my windshield. Needless to say, they didn't have the windshield as they said they did, they had a tech look at and evaluate my truck, ordered the windshield and scheduled me. A week later, I once again took off work to make my appointment with them and they ordered the wrong windshield. Then they proceed to tell me that they can't calibrate my truck even if they did replace the windshield because I have after market wheels on it. Seriously! The manager couldn't even come out and tell me himself, he sent a tech, which was absolutely friendly and helpful. They then told me they would order my windshield and it's been over a week and I haven't heard a single thing from them. Needless to say, the management at this location is absolutely horrendous. If safelite were smart, they'd fire the entire management staff and start over. A quick google search and you'll see the management here is lacking. I had a small ding in my windshield and was sent here by GEICO. I arrived at my appointment and was seen promptly. The technician seemed friendly. When they took my car back however, they made the small ding turn into a six inch crack and I was told that I now need to schedule a time to have my windshield replaced, but not to worry, the insurance company will be reimbursed and all I have to do is pay my $500 deductible. I was floored, and asked how can your mistake cost me $500? their response was "wasn't that explained to you, sometimes that happens and we are not responsible for that". Well it was NOT explained to me. How do I know that the technician that did NOT explain that to me did NOT know what he was doing and made a mistake. But at least the insurance company gets reimbursed! So there's that. read more

Very disappointed with my service at Safelite. My passenger window was broken and all they did was remove the glass they did not replace the window and they did not tell me that when they called me and told me that my car was ready for pick up. The person at the front desk claimed they had no idea what was going on because they had been in meetings all day she went to the back and asked the man that took out my window what happened and he claimed that there was something inside my window that was broken that prevented him from fixing it and that they had to order a new part. The lady at the front desk then told me that someone else would call me later on that day and explain to me what needed to happen in order to get my window fixed. That was on Monday and I have never received a call I tried calling Safelite three times and I have not been able to reach anybody they have hung up on me three times. I purposely brought my car to the store so that it could be fixed quicker. There were appointments available for later on this week where they come to your house and fix it but I decided not to do those because I wanted my window fixed. Instead of my window being fixed all they did was remove the glass and tape a piece of plastic over it and I have no idea when or how my window will get fixed. Very poor service and extremely disappointed I have no way of knowing what is going on. read more

My GEICO auto insurance sent me here for a 2021 Honda CRV windshield replacement. I was expecting issues based on the 1 start reviews other customers wrote. But I didn't experience any issues with them. Everything went perfect actually. It was very simple. I had a Tuesday morning appointment, I dropped my car off Monday evening before they closed (I did not use the drop box, I went inside & gave them my keys). I received several automated text messages & emails keeping me informed with appointment reminders, drop off reminders, installation start, technician assignment, calibration completion, pickup alert, & instructions on what needed to be done. I had no reason/need to call them because the automated communications were extremely sufficient. My appointment was at 9:30am my card was ready for pickup at 11:45am. I went in, paid my insurance deductible & was handed my keys. Receipt was emailed to me & they told me what precautions to take over the next 2 days. DONE! Also the windshield replacement looks Exactly like my original Honda factory windshield (minus the VIN barcode on the bottom left corner). Even the Frits (solid black bands near the edge of windshield & small black dots at the outer edge) were in the exact same position. That was a happy surprise because I was fully expecting to receive some generic plain piece of glass, which has happen to me with a different company. I was also nervous about my Lane sensing features getting messed up from the windshield replacement, but everything was recalibrated perfectly. My registration sticker was even perfectly transferred. So I literally felt like they just magically removed the giant crack from my previous windshield. The experience exceeded expectations in every way. read more

Just got quoted $114 for a rock chip REPAIR. That's not including them coming to my location, that's me doing the repair in shop. That's a little to extreme for a rock chip that's a size of a quarter. Called three other places for quotes and all three quoted me $40. This location went out of their way to fit me into their busy schedule and had very good pricing. Their front desk associate, Leah, is outstanding. An asset to their location. She is smart,knows her job and location like the back of her hand. She was 75% of the reason we went back to that location. Had chip in windshield. Didn't want it to spread (like last time...oops!) so I decided to get it fixed. Easy online scheduling. They worked with my insurance so when I walked in the door everything was ready and good to go. Courteous and professional workers. Clean facility. They to work right away and I walked out 30 minutes later. Crack fixed and car vacuumed! Easy peasy. Would recommend. Edited to add: I have bad luck with windshields! Other car needed a replacement. Had the mobile service come to replace at the house. He was right on time and actually had to wait for me for a little bit. Which he did with a smile! Explained everything to me. Very courteous. BEWARE- UNRELIABLE- I scheduled an appointment for a cracked windshield repair and the only time available was noon to 5 PM on Saturday 12/29/2018 was available. I took the appt and rearranged my schedule since I needed the repair before leaving town on 1/2/2019. At 1:45, I received a voicemail canceling my appointment with no explanation. I contacted customer service who had to call the Katy location to find out what happened for me. They said they were overbooked and understaffed. Surely they knew this the day before or even this morning. It was very inconsiderate. They would not work me in on Monday 12/31/18 and only had an appt on Thursday 1/3/19, which is too late. How about working overtime? Based on their attitude and incompetence, I don't even want them to to touch my car! I WILL NEVER USE THE KATY SAFELITE. SHAME ON YOU! Geico insurance preferred provider. Went in with a small chip at the level of the windshield wiper meaning no safety or visual issues. Safelight's repair effort turned this dime size chip into a running 18 inch crack turning it into an out of pocket replacement instead of a covered repair. BEWARE: They make you sign a waiver protecting them from their own negligence. One could call it Fraud by non-disclosure!!! It is now going to cost $550 out of pocket and another day of my time ( I bill by the hour) to deal with it. Amazingly, they had the audacity to ask me to pay to fix their incompetence. Geico your preferred provider lost you a long term customer. How many more is it going to take before you wise up? Please consider an alternate business located off of 99 just down the road. And Safelight don't bother with your canned response! Update: I got a replacement at my door for half of what Safelite wanted to charge. read more

Had my back window replaced on my 2013 Infiniti G37X they state that they back their work and have 30 days for defective glass it's been 15 days and I've been dealing with them for the past week the glass has an indention and curve that isn't suppose to be there it's an eye sore and they are wanting me to come out of pocket again to pay for an oem glass why do they even carry defective glass ? And they clearly don't back their work. This my first stop wanted to warn others of this. Just because they back it doesn't mean they will. Now on to the BBB and possibly a lawyer. Hopefully it doesn't mess any of my electronics up while I wait and wait to get this sorted out.. stay away from them you better off going to a dealership spending the extra money versus taking the cheaper way out .. I used to love Safelite, but they have lost their way. Had my 4th appointment cancelled by them this past weekend. Of course no one bothered to call or tell me it had been cancelled they waited until I showed up at the store to tell me they had cancelled my appointment and would not be working on my vehicle because they would not do work on a vehicle they had not initially installed the windshield on. Funny thing is the only reason anyone else installed it to start with is because they cancelled my first 3 appointments to have them install the windshield to start with. They had no problem making the appointment when I told them exactly what I needed and they said it would be no problem. A few years back I would have recommended them to anyone and everyone as I was very happy with the service I previously received however at this point they seem to be going out of their way to turn customers away. On the plus side there is another glass shop close by which was much cheaper had the same warranties and seamed glad to have my businesses (I am sure you can find it on google) read more

I set an appointment online for the next day and they were very nice with a nice waiting area, although there are several cafes and fast food places very close. They honored the online discount and fixed the glass in the passenger side door pretty quick. George Cajiao took good care of me. I did have comprehensive insurance so I don't know if the regular price was high or low but my cost was good. read more
