Me and my wife made an appointment to have my right passenger window replaced. Before he started, I specifically told him I was worried about someone scratching or damaging my car. He reassured me and said he had been doing this for 15 years, so I trusted him. Then he calls me and tells me he BROKE THE BRAND NEW window while installing it and scratched my car in the process. While finishing up putting my old window back in, I brought up the scratch and he acted like it was nothing and said he could fix it. He then said, "What if I go around the Tesla and find other scratches?" basically trying to justify the damage he caused. He even said he would scratch his own car if that would make me feel better. He finished putting my OLD cracked window back in, meaning I was still stuck with the same cracked window I was paying to have replaced. Then he starts talking about how he normally doesn't come out on Sundays and says I should go to someone else because now he would be breaking even. Then he tells me if I want him to come back, I would have to pay him MORE. He also told me I'm complaining like his girlfriend. That's when I told him to get the f out. He left. After he left, I checked the car and found out the passenger speaker wasn't working. I also found the piece holding the speaker to the door was broken. So I trusted this guy because he claimed to have 15 YEARS of experience, specifically warned him about damaging my car, and somehow ended up with the same cracked window, a scratched car, and additional damage to my speaker and door. To start with he actually answered his phone in this day that doesn't always happen. He told me he would be at my house within 30 minutes. He was. Told me about 30 minutes to repair the chip actually took about 20 minutes. I had priced out several companies. He was right in the norm as far as pricing went. Then he said he had to add $87 more for taxes (not mentioned in the quote). Fine. As requested, I sent payment via Venmo (he didn't do credit card). Venmo put a business hold on the payment. He requested payment another way so I sent the $1,287 via CashApp. However, the original $1,287 was still on hold in Venmo so I paid twice. I was out $1,287 for about 3 weeks when Venmo released the Hold. However, because it was a business transaction, Venmo charged him a fee of around $40. So he only refunded me $1,248.
