I stayed home all day to ensure that I was available for the tech and when the time came I even went outside to see if they were out there and available. I waited 30 minutes without hearing anything and when I looked at my work order, the tech had claimed that they knocked on my door and called me. I didn't get a single knock on the door or a call. I got my back window and windshield replaced here. When I booked the appointment, I was quoted 2 hours for the replacement. I planned on sitting in to waiting room, since it was a week day, and I had no ride. After checking in, I was approached by the technician doing the work. He told me it was going to take 5 hours, not 2. I didn't want to wait there that long, so I paid for an Uber ride home. Well, 2 hours after I dropped it off, they called me and said my vehicle was ready to pick up. I was happy that it was done, but I was upset that I was told 5 hours. So I paid for an Uber ride back. Had I not been told 5 hours, I would've waited there as I originally planned. But I spent $60 in taxi rides, because I was told the wrong information. This made me pretty upset. But I brought my vehicle there to replace my windows, and they did a good job. I would've given them 5 stars had they not wasted my time and money. read more

I've always heard Safelite was the top of the line when it comes to windshield replacement, so when we got a chip in ours, I thought I'd make an appointment with them to have it repaired, which I did. Of course, they had to order a new windshield. When it finally came in, we made an appointment to have it installed. I've always heard they could repair a chip up to the size of a quarter. After it was installed, I asked one of the techs how big of a chip they could repair and was told up to the length of a dollar bill. I had to pay my co-pay, which I would not have to if I was told ahead of time. My insurance would've paid for the chip repair with no cost to me. I was on my way home when I noticed the Heads Up Display (HUD) was crooked. It is adjustable from the controls inside the car, but this adjustment is limited. I could not get it within range using the inside controls. When I got home, I called them, and they said to bring it back, and they would look at it. I did. They said it would have to be replaced, so they ordered another one. When they called and asked me to bring it in for replacement, I did. (This is a 25-mile trip) When I got there, they looked at the 'lot' number, and it matched the one they installed on my car, so they told me it wouldn't do any good to put it on because there was a high probably it would do the same thing, so they ordered an OEM. This took more than a week. Why couldn't they ask me over the phone to give them the 'lot' number, saving me another trip into town? I'm sure Safelite Glass is a very reputable company, but the one in Longmont is not! Therefore, I cannot recommend them. read more

The technicians do a good job but scheduling is ridiculous. They will CHARGE YOU TO SCHEDULE THROUGH A PERSON. The online quote was 755 after tax with recalibration. With the failed crack repair discount scheduling through a phone call was 865! That is insane! I then confirmed that the quoted 755 does not yet include my failed chip repair discount (170). Buyer beware! (To be clear the person was on the phone 15 minutes which means you are paying 280$ for 15minutes or 1120$ an hour for their phone service!) read more

Very disappointed in Safelite. Today I was scheduled for the third time to have a new windshield put in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. First time in May the technician installed a new windshield and then said they couldn't calibrate the Jeep because their Bosch units didn't have the correct software update. He talked through the issue with Safelite techs and they discussed that maybe their Aztec calibration units might work but came to the conclusion that I would have to have it calibrated at a Jeep dealer. But, he also said that after installing the windshield he noticed that the windshield was not bonded properly and they needed to replace it anyway. Second attempt was yesterday. Technician came out to replace it again and the wiring for the defrost was broken. He offered to install the windshield even though it was broken but I declined his offer. It's a 2023 with 2000 miles, why would I install a windshield that wouldn't defrost? He said they had another windshield and I rescheduled for today. I called the central line for Safelite yesterday and asked them to make sure they checked the windshield before they wasted another day waiting for them to show up (they give you a window from 12 to 6). She put me on hold and then reported the manager at Longmont store was all over it and would make sure the windshield was ok. Third attempt today. Technician showed up at 5:15. Said from what he could tell the windshield was fine. He said he would install and calibrate the windshield. When I asked about whether they would be able to calibrate the windshield (only had the Bosch unit) he said he didn't know. I told him my previous experience. I told him I had an appointment with Jeep dealer tomorrow so if he couldn't calibrate it I was fine with just replacing the windshield and I would take it to Jeep for calibration. He said he would have to talk to his manager. (Yes the one in Longmont that was taking care of me). So, he called his manager who said he wouldn't let him install the windshield without calibrating it also. I asked if they could guarantee they could even calibrate it and the answer was no. I asked why they wouldn't replace the windshield since I was already driving with and uncalibrated Safelite installed windshield. The explanation I got was they wanted to do the calibration because that was were most of the profit was. I tried calling the manager but no one would answer at the Longmont Safelite. I called the central help line and they tried to help me but no one would answer at Longmont. She tried to contact the Safelite Warranty group but they were not available. I ended up telling the technician to have a nice evening and to let the manager know that not only would he not get paid for the calibration he wouldn't be replacing my windshield. The lady at the boulder store said that the Longmont store had my glass already when I went to the Longmont store turns out they never had my glass. But they sure help me out by calling the boulder store and figuring out what the issue was. They ended up getting glass for me and getting it done within an hour. I have used them over and over to repair auto glass in the past. The last 3 times in a row I used them through my car insurance (even though they aren't the 'preferred vendor'). The last 3 times I used them they scratched my windshield while fixing the rock chips. I do understand the process of how they need to clean up the resin... I talked to them about this the last time they came to fix the rock chips and.... yeah, 3rd time was a charm they scratched my windshield again. I made an appointment 1 week in advance to have my windshield replaced at the Longmont store. I dropped off my car at 9AM and received a call at 9:40AM letting me know my windshield didn't arrive but would arrive in the afternoon. Couldn't they have told me this when I dropped my car off? And shouldn't they have had the windshield in stock after 1 week? So I go back to the store and pickup my vehicle and reschedule for a mobile installation in the afternoon. I called the store in the afternoon to verify that my glass arrived but the store manager never called me back. Finally at 4:45 I got a call back (from the installer) letting me know that the glass didn't arrive. So I basically wasted an entire day because my windshield didn't arrive and no one let me know 'til the end of the day. Update: After rescheduling my appointment, the mobile installer initially showed up w/ the incorrect windshield, but after running back to the store and retrieving the correct windshield, the installer was able to install it no problem. The installer was professional and courteous and called me prior to my appointment. In summary, had the work been performed at the original appointment time as expected, I probably would've given a 5-star review as the initial phone call to schedule the appointment and the installer seemed good. But not having my windshield and lack of communication was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. read more

Had my windshield replaced by Safelite at a Wisconsin location last June. There was a air leak that I didn't notice because you only could hear it with the radio off which I almost always have on. I was ready to do battle about the recalibration which is necessary on my 2018 Subaru. The folks there couldn't have been nicer. Windshield was reset and Eyesight was recalibrated. i actually had the wrong windshield picked out. my windshield had a "heater" on it to defrost the area where the blades sit, and i never knew. they got the right windshield installed, had to keep the truck over night, but gave me a decent discount so the pain was less. very friendly, and they did their job. so all in all, could not have been better!! so nice to be able to see without looking through a crack.
