I had a small crack in my windshield. I took it to Safelite in Midland. It honestly doesn't look like they did anything and charged me $171. When I questioned them, they said their repairs are not for cosmetic purposes and if my windshield ever cracked in the future, they would refund my money they charged me to repair but not pay for the price of a new windshield. I only took it there to guarantee I wouldn't have to pay for a new windshield down the road. I really think they just took my money and didn't do anything, it took them 20 minutes and looks exactly the same. What a scam! I would rate them negative if they gave that rating as an option. read more

I had a tech come out to fill a small chip. They did tell me ahead of time, without seeing the chip and while they were still on the phone with me, that it was still going to be visible and there is chance more damage would happen. However, my husband had a really great experience a few months back so I told them to go ahead and fill my chip. Twenty five minutes into the repair, the tech called me back out to tell me that they cracked my windshield once they started the fill. They told me that it was still safe to drive. The crack is horizontal from one end to the other and then goes vertical up in the middle of my line of sight if I am in the driver seat. They said sorry, they told me it could happen. They said they would contact the company but never told me how they would reach back out. They gave me the managers card and left. She was hardly apologetic. My husband called the manager, as I was too upset and it will possibly cost US $800 because I am requesting an OEM windshield and not one that is their standard windshield. I do NOT trust that they will get this in correctly and calibrated for all the sensors after seeing the service today. If I could, they would get 0 stars. read more

We got a windshield in our 2012 Buick. It was quick and simple. But later down the road our rear view mirror was knocked sideways. I thought to my self, well now I gotta correct my mirror. Nope. I don't know how. I have never seen this in my life. But the mounting glue ripped a hole in the windshield?? I called and explained everything to customer support (which is a pain in the ass) but the person on the line told me he had heard of these calls before? Me being I never heard it, it got me thinking how weak is their glass????? They wind up warrantying it out for the scheduled appointment. A rock flew up and cracked the windshield. This our third time having Safelite auto glass repair it because of rocks flying into the windshield. My experience with this company has so far been very pleasant and they were quick to get my vehicle serviced and back to me. They even saved me 100$ in the end which was a nice surprise because with my deductible, they could have just charged what the original quote was and pocketed it. I do have one small issue with the install and plan to head in to get it adjusted, but it's very minor. read more

I did not have a 6 hour window in which the window tech could show up. I felt as if I had to sit around and wait for him all day. He took my inspection sticker and parking tag. I had to call him to get them back. He says he can't give my inspection sticker back because It will tear and he can give me the number off the old one and I can get a new one using the numbers. That's not how it works. My car is in Michigan, registered in LA. When I drive home to LA without the inspection sticker I will get a huge fine for not having one. I called the manager who delivered it to me later. The new windshield is noisy. Something doesn't seem right. There is a rubber seal flapping in the wind on the windshield. There was black dust all over the inside of my car I cleaned off. There were rubber seals under the hood that had become displaced and I had to fix them myself. My husband emailed as asked on the website address his concerns with the quality of the install and no one has responded. 5 days later and no response from the company my husband had made several phones calls to the company and he is placed on hold for 30 min each time. Apparently this company does poor work and doesn't care. Also they don't care about service. read more

I first used Safelite to replace a windshield on a 2013 Ford Flex Limited in 2016. I was traveling far from home when my windshield was cracked by stones while on the freeway. I called my Insurance company asked if Safelite could do the job as I'd seen their TV ads. My Insurance company held a 3 way conference with Safelite, myself and them. A date and time was set up. I was elated with the whole experience with Safelite and It's been over year now with -0- problems. Last week, while driving on the freeway going 75 mph, our 2014 Chevy Traverse's windshield was struck by 2 pieces of concrete that fell from a truck. We're lucky to be alive........ the windshield exploded from the impact with shards & pieces of glass flying through the entire interior....front to back, side to side and hitting us in the face. We were both wearing glasses thank goodness. I immediately called my Insurance Company who again set up a 3 way conference with Safelite. A date and time was set. Safelite actually called me the day of the appointment asking if they could arrive 2 hours AHEAD of our scheduled time. Again had a highly positive experience with Safelite. The local Midland, MI location replaced our Chevy Equinox windshield in early June, 2018. The new windshield developed a leak and began to whistle. My wife went into report it and, mysteriously, they had no record of that repair. Of course not. They don't want to admit their poor workmanship. They couldn't find the car, my wife's name, her phone number, my name or my phone number. But when I was able to give them the work order number, miraculously, they found everything. Now they are going to replace the windshield again. But had I not found that work order number. we would have ended up in the local district court.
