I'd advise anyone who needs a windshield to avoid this location if possible. After I took off work and had someone meet me there. They ordered the wrong windshield ( without the blue tint at the top ) They called and asked if I still wanted it installed. At this point I've taken off work and asked a friend to meet me there. So YES.. go ahead and install the one without the blue tint. Assuming that one cost more anyway. Upon completion I asked if they were adjusting my quoted price for the one without the blue tint. . NO!!!! No adjustment no we are sorry- NOTHING!! I'll use a different location in the future!!! This is the worst ken I've ever used!!!! read more

I recently had my windshield replaced. The repairman did not check all that he disconnected to do the job. I had to take my car into a local shop for them to reconnect the windshield wiper hoses so they would work. it cost $28.50. (I live over an hour away, otherwise I would have gone back for them to do it). So if you have your windshield replaced by Safelite check EVERYTHING before you drive out. read more

I was impressed with the windshield replacement I got from the Safelite on Williamson Rd. The scheduling was easy and all done on the website. There was a very nice AARP discount code I was able to use. The cost of the windshield replacement was less than my car insurance deductible, so I just went ahead and paid out of pocket. I was confirmed and received several text messages to prepare me for my visit. The employees were very professional and everything seems fine with the new glass. My wait was just under one hour, which was very fast, although I'm sure a lot of windshields are more complicated and will require more time to replace. They were able to remove my Virginia state inspection sticker and put it on the new windshield. I was very happy about that. Hopefully the glass on my vehicles will stay intact, but in the event of another crack, I will visit this location again. read more

here's the facts. Needed front glass replaced. First appointment 1/9. Today is 4/2. 84 days. Job incomplete with no plan to complete. Many changes, visits to shop on Williamson Rd., more than 10 calls totaling more than an hour dealing with that stupid computer aided phone system that wastes my time when it hangs up on me after trying unsuccessfully to speak to a human, 2nd glass in place with no clue when my job will be finished. Parts needed from Acura (side molding 73162-TL2-305ZD and 73162-TL2-305ZM -NH789M Forged Silver Metallic). First Safelite tech damaged 1) original replacement windshield, 2) both side moldings, # above 3) 04635-TL4-G01ZZ - passenger/right aperture panel which requires either replacement or paintless dent removal, 4) the chemical used that caused damage to 1st glass is still present - which leaves a streak directly in driver's sight. 5) I've replaced wipers (they need to be cleaned or replaced because they're affected by chemical). 1st tech scratched glove box, roof above glass, dented aperture panel, left dirt and residue from repair on dash, mud on kick panels, doors, carpets, steering wheel. It's times like this which demonstrate what a company / employee / manager is . This mess can be cleaned up quickly, or not. I want to know who your boss is and how I reach them. What has been done so far is unsatisfactory and being ignored is unacceptable. I want Safelite to provide a solution - to include planned work, parts ordered/replaced or repaired and scheduled dates. read more

Safelite of Roanoke VA is a waste of your time. Don't bother with trying to get them to complete a repair for you because after you go through their maze of a phone system, they book you an appointment that they never show up for. Safelite told me that their repair person would come to my home between 1:00 - 6:00 pm so I took the time to stay home during said time but Safelite never called, texted or emailed me to let me know that they were not going to show up to complete the repair. I called the "local" phone number that I was given by the Safelite national call center gave me but when I called that number it only routed back to the national call center who is nearly as worthless as the Roanoke office. I called my insurance company and they referred me to another local glass shop to complete the repair. So, save your time and go to another vendor and avoid the time wasters at Safelite. read more

Didn't transfer my state-inspection decal to my new windshield. They didn't mention it to me nor did they attach the remnants to my receipt. I came to the store to inquire about it and the store is CLOSED at 3 pm, Friday, Nov 18, 2022 (posted hours are Monday thru Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm. I have had nothing but problems. They sent tech out that refises to use protective cover. Ive spoke with store manager about getting scratches and broken part ( photos below) fixed I had to go to hoa manager this was done on July 16 2020 and in still waiting for this problem to be resolved. There is over $1000.00. In damage they say they are going to have fixed in timely manner which it is several weeks past timely. As I bout this car for my wife for the summer for her birthday thought she would enjoy a convertible. However will not drive until repaired...Still waiting to have it repaired. read more

Traveling from California to Pennsylvania and got a chip in windshield that turned into a long crack in Arizona. Called our insurance while passing through Arkansas. They recommended Safelite in Roanoke Virginia knowing we would be there several days visiting our son and family. I took the car on the pre-arranged day to Safelite. Our installer Rico talked to me, told me the process and started installation. It took approximately 2 1/2 hours start to finish. It took that long because of the cameras etc. that had to be calibrated on the car. The clean waiting room had free coffee, snacks and a television watch to pass away the time. Data: April 25, 2023 had my windshield replaced. Technician damaged the pillar in my Lexus. Automatic wipers were not operating as before the windshield replacement. They sent a technician to my home and he concluded that there was nothing more that could be done. I was told at that time that the pillar would be replaced and that it had been ordered. I was also told that it was the manufacturer of the chemical product used on my dashboard that damaged the pillar. They were to be liable for the damage. There was no resolve with many promises, and that the pillar was ordered and they would replace it. After almost 2 months of no resolve, I contacted my insurnce company and asked them to help in the matter. They were in contact with management at the Roanoke office and were told that they had been in contact with me and in the process of resolving the situation. Absolutely not!! They were told that the manager set up an appointment to replace the pillar, Friday, June 30, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and I received an e-mail to that affect. No show, no contact by anyone. Another appointment was scheduled for Monday/Today, to replace the pillar and a technician would be at my home between 1p.m and 6 p.m. NO SHOW, AGAIN AND NO CONTACT FROM THE ROANOKE STORE MANAGEMENT. Let the buyer beware when dealing with this organization. Many promises, no shows, no resolve, much distraction, inconvenience waiting for the appointment, and the unresolved destruction of my property. I've written messages on the Safelite Facebook location.... no resolve. Customer service and overall respect for the customer is needed. This situation is reflective on the entire Safelite organization, which may be cultural. Process training and customer sensitivity absolutely seems to be needed internally. As a Senior, this smacks at the vulnerability of the elderly. read more

I was a little uneasy about using Safelite because I had used another local mom and pop glass shop in the past, and they honestly set the bar really high. With that said, I was beyond happy with my experience with Safelite recently. My installer was very friendly, and professional--and he worked quickly to get my new windshield installed and on his way to the next job. Beyond the installer, the rest of the process was great too and unfortunately that's one advantage that a bigger company like Safelite has over the mom and pop shops--even the ones that do mobile installs... For example, being able to see on a map where my installer is and how long before he arrives to my location, that's fantastic! Not only that, but my installer called me first thing the morning of to let me know he had to do one windshield before me, and let me know when to expect him within the window of time I requested. They've managed to do a great job streamlining things to make it an effortless experience for the customers, and I not only want to acknowledge that, but express my appreciation. read more

The experience was great. One the day of the service, they called to let me know that they were running a couple of hours late. Luckily I was able to change my schedule at work. Once the gentleman arrived, he explained what he was about to do and asked if I had any questions. I really appreciated that. It took about an hour, and it looks great. Shop improperly installed my windshield wipers and trim molding on top and sides of my windshield after replacing the windshield. Also used Chinese made Fuyao glass which at night in the rain causes all the distortions and abrasions in the glass to show up causing issues of actually seeing where you are driving. read more

Had to have a windshield replaced in one of my vehicles and used Satelite for the first time in late 2013. I would use again, but one thing I would definitely do next time is an inspection of the inside of my vehicle. The inside was a total mess. Both front seats, dash and carpet were covered in tiny specks of glass that had to be vacuumed up before I could drive anywhere. Which was just great as I had to spend time doing that before I could go anywhere. Good thing I didn't have to be anywhere at any specific time or else I would have been late!!! My husband noticed our Jeep had a crack in the windshield. I went online to USAA to file a claim with our insurance and Safelite was the recommended shop. It was incredibly easy to set up an appointment and I scheduled it for the next day. Unfortunately, our second car was still stuck in the snow and I had to call to reschedule. They technician I spoke with tried really hard to pinpoint where the Jeep would be that day so they could get it fixed but was unable to due to him being in different places. I told them that we were in no rush and rescheduled for Friday. Initially we were told they would come to us between 3:30 and 5pm but received a call at 10am asking if they could come out then. The technician arrived and was very polite, confirmed the price that I was quoted and made sure to point out the minor scrapes and dings on our vehicle before he started his work. I was able to go back inside and enjoy my coffee while he replaced the glass. The inside of my Jeep was exactly as I had left it. I would highly recommend them. read more

I had my windshield replaced yesterday. The windshield looks great and doesn't leak, but during the process of replacing the windshield my wiper arm clip was broken. I found this out last night during a rain storm when my wiper arm clip broke off under the arm, bent the blade, and in turn the wiper blade chipped the paint off the edge of my hood. The technician had to bang on my wiper arms to get them loose during the install and must have damaged the clip on the wiper arm, broke off the first time I turn the wipers on. read more
