My service to replace my windshield was scheduled between 8/12 this morning. The tech arrived 10 mins late so I already sat around for 4 hours. When the tech removed my existing windshield, he called me 35 mins later and ask me to come outside to show me the new windshield already had a crack in it. There are no more replacement windshields available until tomorrow. Now I cannot drive my vehicle because it had to be wrapped up with some wrap your tech had. 1) Customer service dictates if you put a 4 hour window-arrive in that window because people take off work for it. Then you call 15 mins before the 4 hrs is up to inform me you might be late and then are 10 mins late? 2) How was that windshield not inspected before it left the facility this morning? I had Safelite come to my office to repair a couple of chips in my windshield. The tech arrived on time, but the first thing he said to me is "I can't fix those, they're just pits." I showed him the little fingers coming out from the chip and he said "Oh, I guess I should have looked closer". He "fixed" it but it's bigger than it was! He told me it didn't fill right, but it won't get any bigger. It's right in my line of vision. My suggestion is to hire people who know what the heck they're doing! read more

Had a crack in my windshield of my work vehicle. When I reported it by phone for my companies insurance, the first question they asked was if it was the length of a dollar. Due to the fact that I drove it for two days before I had to reported it, it went from the length of a dollar to just slightly larger than that, but not much. I was told because it was higher than a dollar I would have to have the whole thing replaced. Because this was a work vehicle I didn't really let that bother me, however, had it been my personal vehicle I probably would've had a cow. Nevertheless, they quickly set up. The appointment told me that it would be from 1 to 2 hours to have it repaired. I arrived on time there was no one ahead of me. I was the first one in. I was treated very nice and professional, and it was explain to me what was going to be done. It actually only took an hour and they were done. I waited for the vehicle, and that may have had to do with how efficiently they got done. When I got in the vehicle, the first thing I noticed was that the Dash cam that my organization had placed in the car, had been moved to one side of the glass directly behind, the rearview mirror. The purpose of the dash cam that the company put in was so that they could monitor drivers. With a camera behind the rearview mirror, they can't see me. I knew this was going to be an issue for my boss, so I called to inform them that they put the Dashcam in the wrong spot. That's something the boss can have that quickly fixed. As I drove back, I immediately noticed the bugs were getting on my newly installed windshield. When I went to hit the windshield wipers to get some windshield wiper fluid, I noticed that I had none. Prior to bringing the vehicle in I had a full amount of windshield wiper fluid, and now I had none. This led me to believe that they drained it out. I don't have a problem with that because I can always put more, it just would've been nice had I've been informed of that. I pulled into a gas station and used a squeegee to clean the bug excess off of my windshield and made it home. Overall, they did a very good job. I just think the communication could've been better. Had they told me that they were gonna move the camera, I would've told them to put it back where they found it and I said "please leave the windshield wiper fluid in the car." But those are minor incidents that can easily be Rectified. There are not too many places that I know of that do strictly glass repair. I'm pretty sure you could probably find another place if you look hard enough but all I can say is that they do good work and if you need a new windshield, I would recommend taking it there. just make sure that you ask questions!! read more

Recommended by my insurer. They did not have any appoints available for their mobile service within 5 day's, but had an availability the next day at their service location. And sadly, they do not have any kind of shuttle, so I had to make an arrangement for getting picked up then dropped back off. Dropped my car off at 8am and it was ready the same day at 3pm. They did an outstanding job with the rear windshield replacement. They did an Amazing job cleaning up all of the broken glass. Their people were professional and had answers to all my questions. And the price was actually affordable. Will definitely use them again if the need arises. Add a shuttle service and I'd give 5 stars. read more

I had the wrong time for my appointment so I called to let them know I was running late. The lady on the phone stated "I was fine just have it here by 11 a.m." I arrived there by 10 a.m. and they stated that I would have to reschedule. I run a daycare and had to shutdown today and will have to shutdown tuesday. I also now have to cancel a field trip next week. I am losing a total of 3 days pay due to them telling me one thing and doing another not to mention they were rude about all of it. The lady behind the counter said it was an understandable mistake due to the lady on the phone thinking that I was only getting one window replaced. I did exactly what they told me and now i have to lose 3 days pay and so do the parents of my daycare munchkins over there mistake...Pathetic!! read more

I have never experienced such poor service from a company before. I received a new windshield on Friday, May 21st. The tech who installed my windshield was very kind, punctual, and kept in constant communication with me. He was great. Received the new windshield within an hour and was very satisfied. I had the service done while I was at work and since I manage an extremely busy retail store, I couldn't spend more than a couple of minutes examining the work. When I went to leave that evening, as it has for the last two weeks, it began to rain. I realized the auto sensor in my windshield wasn't recognizing the moisture. No worries. I went to manually turn my wipers on, but to no avail. I could hear the motors of the wipers working to turn on, but the wipers would not work. Great. I then look up to turn my dome light on (I'd pulled over to wait for the rain to subside) and notice there are dark, very dirty handprints and smears all over the ceiling of my car. I have a tan interior. It looks absolutely terrible. My car is only a couple of years old and I take impeccable care of it. No way was that there before the service. I submit a warranty appointment request. I have to wait until Monday, no big deal. On Monday another tech showed up to service my vehicle. I asked him TWICE to please try to clean the ceiling fo my car. He spent maybe fifteen minutes looking over the vehicle and pulls me outside. He verbatim tells me, "In the 25 years I've been doing this, I've never seen this happen. Something is wrong with your vehicle and that is why your wipers are not working". Really? My car worked flawlessly until you guys came out to replace my windshield. Okay. He then tells me I have to take my vehicle in for an estimate and get the information to his Manager and MAYBE they'll be able to remedy the situation for me. I'm a little frustrated at this point. I work around 70 hours a week, and it's supposed to (as I mention) rain the next six days. Not to mention, after asking him twice, he did not try to clean the ceiling of my car. I couldn't get my vehicle in for an estimate until Friday anywhere that would be easy because I work in Lawrence, live in KC, and don't get off work until far later than any of these places are open until. My fiancé kindly offers to let me drive his car Friday so that he can take my car in for an estimate. Within ten minutes the auto shop called him and told him SafeLite INCORRECTLY INSTALLED my wipers and that they'd remedied the situation for us for free. TEN MINUTES!!!! I had been dangerously driving my car for a week without working wipers during torrential downpours- driving through dimly-lot back roads at dawn and dusk after your techwith "25 years of experience" couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! And the ceiling of my car is beyond dirty! I will never, ever, EVER use you again. Your service is awful, and your techs, while pleasantly kind, are absolutely CLUELESS. read more

On Friday 10/11/19: Cody, one of Safelite technicians, came out to my workplace in Perry, KS and did an amazing job replacing my windshield in my 2020 Kia Sportage LX, the kind of job where you can't tell the windshield has ever been replaced. He also recalibrated the Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning camera system. My vehicle was actually cleaner after Cody replaced my windshield, than it was before, cause he vacuumed the interior and made it look spectacular. I had an appointment for a Saturday morning to replace my windshield (it had been cracked several times and was beyond repair). I arrived a bit early, but the guys took me right in. My car was ready in less time than I expected, and they took great care of my car. They even offered to replace my K-Tag, but I already had ordered one. Now that's customer service! My only concern was accessibility. I wish the entrance to the store had been a bit more wheelchair-friendly. I managed (with the help of my wife) to navigate the small step and the narrow sidewalk in front of the door. I'm sure that with minimal effort the sidewalk could be modified to be flush with the parking lot. read more

I had an appointment on Saturday, June 1, 2019 to repair some small chips in my windshield. I was told since the chips were so small and I couldn't tell exactly how many there were, that they would take a look and if I had three or less chips they would try to repair them, but if I had four or more, a full windshield replacement would be necessary. I explained I did not want to move forward with a full windshield replacement, but if there were three or less little chips, I would like to get them repaired. I showed up for the appointment and was told it should only take 30 minutes. Over an hour later, the technician came out acting very nervous and weird and told me my car was ready. He explained that they attempted to repair four chips, even though they told me they only do repairs on three or less, and that one of them cracked an inch. He was acting very shady and kept saying, "I know it looks back, but don't worry, the crack isn't going to get any bigger." over and over again. An hour later and the crack was a foot long. I called them right away to ask why they didn't follow the procedure they gave me about the number of repairs they can do before recommending a full replacement and also to discuss my dissatisfaction that the technician guaranteed the inch long crack wouldn't spread, but it did, and to suggest they don't make promises they can't keep. I was told the Topeka manager was not available, but that he would call me back by Monday, June 03, 2019. As of Tuesday, June 04, 2019, I still have not received a call back from the manager of the Topeka store to discuss my experience. Safelite hasn't kept their word in regards to anything they told me. I feel they intentionally attempted to "repair" more cracks than they usually allow to get my money on a full windshield replacement. I absolutely do not recommend this company. I got hit by a rock while driving from Kansas City to Topeka. Used the mobile site to schedule an appointment to get it fixed that very same day! As soon as I got to the shop they were ready and took my vehicle right in! They even vacuumed the whole vehicle and washed every window! Now that's great customer care! The technician told me that I would probably still be able to see a spot where the crack was but the windshield would be structurally sound. I couldn't even tell where the rock had hit! In and out in 28 minutes and the best part was that he asked me what insurance I had, which ended up saving me 50%! I didn't know State Farm had an agreement with Safelite that would save me money! These are outstanding men! We hit snow on our trip home and one of our windshield wipers stopped working so we saw an awning and pulled over to fix it. In the process the windshield wipers hit each other and totally messed up. The guys working here saw us and came to see if we needed help fixing it. They got us right in and back on the road within 10 min. If it weren't for these guys we would have been in big trouble. On May 1, Safelite replaced my cracked windshield, which had an edge crack that started from the driver-side A-pillar and extended 7 or 8 inches toward the center. One reason I chose Safelite is because of their warranty. Before the month ended, an edge crack started in the same location. I scheduled an appointment on June 10 to have the new windshield replaced under warranty. When the technician came, he refused to replace the windshield under warranty, claiming the windshield was chipped. It's not apparent to me that there is any chip in the windshield, as (1) I never encountered anything hitting the windshield heavier than an insect, (2) I am the only person who drives the car, (3) the crack started from the A-pillar in the same location as the original windshield crack. The windshield replaced by Safelite cracked less than a month after it was installed, and not from anything that struck the windshield. This windshield was either defective or was installed improperly, and Safelite will not honor the warranty, and I'm out $490. If you want your windshield replaced, go to a reputable auto glass company for a new windshield--not Safelite. If you want to get ripped off, go to Safelite. read more

HORRIBLE. Replaces the windshield, knocks on my door saying he's done. I pay, he leaves. I further inspect my vehicle only to find my roof trim he had to take off wasn't reinstalled properly OR all the way. I popped the hood and he had broken a piece of the plastic covering he had to remove, left the broken piece sitting on top of my motor and the piece it broke off of just hanging in place because now it can't snap into place. Didn't bother telling me because customer satisfaction obviously falls below him moving on with his day. Then when I call them to see what they will do about it, they're just going to send the same low working ethic kid out to look at it. read more

Technician was prompt at the scheduled time, however they didn't fix the cracks in my windshield, overcharged me, didn't clean my windshield inside or out, and didn't vacuum my car; one of the "extra services" in the brochure. Even after completing their follow-up email survey and leaving a negative review and being told my complaint would go to their "Executive Service Team", two weeks later I still haven't heard from them.
