They damaged my vehicle when they installed the new windshield. Chipped paint...deep chips, like gauges. It's an expensive car and we pay a lot of money for it. They ruined it, and came out with a picture of the damage and said it existed before. when I said it most certainly did not. He was already turned around and walking away from me in my driveway saying we're good. I cannot believe the level of disconnect this person displayed from what was happening. Rather than entertaining the possibility that they did something wrong. they came out with lies printed and immediately imply that I am lying. I am kind of dumbfounded by the disrespect. Do not use this company. If you do, at least understand that they can really F*@% your car up, and will do absolutely nothing but make you angry about it. Bottom line is my car is messed up very noticeably so because of damage caused by their installer. I am not even mad about it. I work in a trade and used to do residential work so I know how hard it is and how bad you feel when you do damage. I have a Tesla (I know certain places just dont want to work on them....got it). Went though my ins to make sure I had a Tesla approved shop. I was given a service appt. for 2pm. I was called a few days later from the shop stating if I bring my car at that time they could guarntee it would be ready when the shop closed at 5pm (ooook). So I was asked and agreed to come in at 10 am. After sitting and wait for 2hrs and car still sitting in the lot untouched. I inquired with the desk attendant who replied this is why I texted you this morning "that you would have to drop your car off". I said that you asked me to come in early so you start early. The coversstion just went down hill. It was unprofessional. Additionally, i failed to mention that two other customers vehicle were taken in after my arrival. Safelite lets call it wait it racist. My insurance company scheduled me to have a cracked windshield replaced by this location; in hindsight, I really wish they hadn't. When the work was completed, there were numerous issues; the windshield molding wasn't properly reinstalled, the dashboard was marred, the trim for both the front driver and passenger side doors had imprints of the service technician's boots, the interior had little bits of rubber everywhere, and the camera system was not properly calibrated and had dust in the window where it was located; the calibration was something I didn't figure out until I was on the road a few days later and hundreds of miles from home when the safety mechanisms of the car would try to "correct" itself and steer me outside of the lines or brake for phantom vehicles unexpectedly while at highway speeds. This latter event occurred multiple times. I tried to remedy these issues myself, and reached out to the location. I was told that it was essential for the techs to stand on the trim during replacement, and the other issues would be evaluated if I brought the car in right away; this was not an option due to travel plans and a general distrust that the store would not effectively remedy these issues because of how the work was performed the first time around. I was also provided with an alternate Safelite location to visit, but I still can't trust these people because the person suggesting it noted she was related to someone at the alternate location. Having taken my vehicle to a dealer two days ago for an oil change and a recall, the dealer confirmed that the camera system wasn't correctly calibrated and needed to correct it. This came at an additional cost for me. While I appreciate the efforts of the front desk person to try to offer to "make things right" and am reflecting that accordingly in my rating, I still can't recommend this location's services because there shouldn't have been this many issues snd it shouldn't have come to this. I would advise to stay away and have any replacements done at a dealership. read more

Had my windshield replace at the Memory Lane store. The cowling was not installed properly and the cowling trim pieces were left loose. Also, there is now a gap between the top of the windshield and the roof line. The original windshield didn't have any gaps. I'm sure it will soon leak. They agreed to replace the driver side cowling and glue the trim piece on the passenger side cowling. Not happy with the shotty workmanship and will never use them again read more

I had a windshield replaced on my 2013 Honda Pilot on January 4, 2025. Nine days later on January 13, 2025 the paint in the middle of the roof directly against the windshield began to peel away. I immediately took the car back to Safelite on Memory Lane in York PA. I spoke with the manager who said his name is Rick but would not give me his last name. Rick was very combative and insisted that Safelite had no fault and was not willing to help with the repair. I called customer service and requested that someone else look at the problem and specifically asked for someone from a location other than Memory Lane. On January 16, 2025 a technician named Jacob came to my house. Jacob took his time to explain the situation and was very good at customer service. Unfortunately Jacob works for the Memory Lane location and explained that Rick would have final say on the situation. I have had no more communication with Safelite, I requested communion from a regional rep and my request was ignored. I used Safelite because my insurance company has an agreement with your company. This complaint was not handled to my satisfaction. read more

I agree with the low star rating. I was supposed to have my windshield replaced, but the technician NEVER showed. I even called 2 1/2 hours in the window they were scheduled (1pm to 5pm) to come out and they told me the technician will be out between 4:30 and 5:00pm. I then called at 5:05pm to see where the technician was and they had closed for the day. They did not even care enough for their customers to call and give a reason. I then got a hold of someone at York, PA Safelite to see what happened and they told me the windshield was not in yet. They could have told me that before 1pm and not wasted my day. Customer service has gone to crap, especially at Safelite. They may be a good company for the most part, but not at the York, PA facility. read more

I called Safelite for an appointment and got it the next day at 8 AM. I had a back glass on the Toyota tundra that got broke while we were moving. The back glass power window. Shattered! I had shards of glass all the way up to the front floor boards and on the front dash. There was glass everywhere. Filled up the whole backseat damn near. I hadn't had time to clean anything. I just deliver the truck and they'd replace it and call me when it's finished. Comprehensive insurance covered it so I don't know what the charge was. All's I know is when I came after hours to pick up my truck, you could not find a shard of glass anywhere. Not even glass dust! Seriously! Nothing. No evidence of the fact the glass was nonexistent two hours prior. Talk about going above and beyond fellas. I was very impressed to say the least. I wish I had got back during hours so I could shake someone's hand. I will definitely be doing business with Safelite auto glass again in the future shall the need ever arise. read more

If I could gift zero stars I would. Worst customer service I have ever received from anywhere. I had an appointment for Friday morning, I dropped the car off in front of the store on Thursday the night before, with the keys in the drop box. End of the day Friday came, no one called me to pickup car. I was assured over the phone it would be done by the end of the day. I called at 4:15pm and they closed at 5pm. I called the next morning on Saturday to see what is going on with my car and why no one has reached out to me. They inform me that they had it marked down as a no show because they couldn't find the car in the parking lot, so it was never even started to be worked on. It was sitting in the parking lot for 2 days. Then they tell me that they already shipped the windshield that was supposed to go on my car away and they no longer had it at the store. Now I will have to wait till Monday to have the windshield replaced so they can ship the windshield back to the store. It was finally done on Monday afternoon, 4 days later. I filled out the automated survey they texted to me to tell them how displeased I was with the service and they said someone would reach out to me. I then got a call today from the TECHNICIAN that was supposed to work on my car, not a customer service rep. He then tried to say the reason it wasn't done on Friday like it was supposed to be was because the key wasn't in the drop box. I then told him it was in the drop box and it was there on Thursday. He insisted it was not there, and then proceeded to "apologize for the inconvenience" after trying to gaslight me. If someone from Safellite reads this please tell me this: how could the key not have been in the drop box all along if the car eventually got done on Monday??? Did it just magically appear?? Because I surely didn't hand it to them between Friday and Monday after my car was sitting the the parking lot for 4 days! All you would have had to do was go out in the parking lot and hit the lock button till it honked and you would have found it. Easy! They were horrible, I had my cars windshield replaced by the Safelite on memory lane York on a Saturday, I picked the car up and drove away, when I got to rt 30 and reach 50 mph two of my molding flew off the car. I replaced those molding at my expense. But then about a month after the install I realized that the windshield was leaking and all my carpets were damaged. THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE!!!! The Scumbag manager did less then nothing, I was angry all he said was "what do you want me to do?". I told them to fix the damage! Well, I had to go back to my insurance company and file a new claim, pay another deductible and now I have to wait for the insurance company to go through subrogation. My insurance company recommended Safelite after one of my windows was smashed in by a vandal. The woman I spoke to when setting up my appointment was pleasant, respectful, and efficient. She offered me a next-day appointment but when that didn't work for my schedule she helped me find a weekend appointment. When I arrived for my appointment the manager at the front desk was polite and prompt. It was discovered pretty quickly that I had accidentally told the appointment representative the wrong model for my car (I recently switched from a Sonic to a Spark and accidentally told them it was a Sonic) and that they didn't have the correct window in the shop. I thought that would mean another few days of waiting to have my window repaired, but the manager was able to call the warehouse and have the correct window brought in within a few hours. I had my window repaired and my car returned by that afternoon. The only criticism I have is that I think they could have done a more thorough job of vacuuming out the glass from my car. I asked the manager if they would be vacuuming the interior of my car in addition to inside of the window, and he said yes. I told him this was important to me given that I transport small children regularly for work; however when I got home there was still a lot of glass on the seats and floor and I had to borrow a shop vac to clean it up. First replacement windshield was defective (distortion). Had another windshield installed. On the way home a piece of the trim/molding came off. Wasn't sure if the windshield itself was going to come off. Had black adhesive from the molding smeared on the white paint of my vehicle. Took the vehicle to a different Safelite location. Cleaned up the adhesive. Had to order the trim piece from Lexus. Waited another 5 days for the part to arrive. Had it installed this morning. Not what I was anticipating when you expect to have your windshield replaced by a technician at your workplace in about two hours. read more

I just took my car to these guys because they are "preferred" by my insurance company...I had a 3/4" crack tops when I got there...first the guy gives me the "in PA if a crack is on the drivers side it won't pass inspection (read: "you might as well replace the windshield now") I said it's so small and very low, I don't think that will really be a problem, so he said let's go look at it. Then he said "yeah, that's probably an okay spot but sometimes when we are repairing we apply pressure and it cracks more." I said "come on, if this tiny thing can't be fixed nothing can". By this time I don't like the vibe I'm getting and I'm even thinking I shouldn't stay but I did and sure enough, 20 minutes later he comes and tells me it's 3 times the size and can't be fixed. Let's start from the beginning. I drove my Honda to the actual safe flight shop and ask them if they had a mirror in stock because when I called the 800 number they said they did it. They did not. So they had to order a replacement mirror and when they entered the information into the computer my personal information name typed in Toyota. They physically looked at my car , saw it was a Honda. So now I make an appointment and I was told it would be 9 o'clock on a Tuesday and they call me back and tell me it is going to be 11. I have an obligation every day and that was not suitable so I changed it to the next day. I asked them to send me paperwork with the quotebecause I was sure my deductible was actually more than the cost of the repair and I actually got a quote in writing. I got a phone call from someone saying if I did not send it through insurance I would be charged more. And I told them my deductible was more than the cost of the repair and I have to pay it out of pocket no matter what so there is no point in wasting safelights time my insurance agents time and my time sending it through insurance only to be billed at a later time for the balance. I told them if I wasn't going to be charged the quoted price of which I told them it was going to be less than the price of my deductible I will go elsewhere. There is no reason on the face of the earth that an insurance company should be charged less than someone paying out-of-pocket. You have less paperwork less issues less research less less less and you have money in hand as opposed to waiting for insurance. Absolutely hate having to use this company but they are the only ones who will replace the mirror at a reasonable price. I could go to my dealer but you know how that goes. Utterly ridiculous that someone has to pay more money than the insurance companies It's an asinine and backward philosophy. read more

Hoodlums vandalized my car, shattering the windshield, and I mean SHATTERING. Because my insurance sucks *ss, I was paying out of pocket for the replacement. Let me start by saying the technician, Chad, who worked on my car was excellent. I wasn't able to be there when my car was repaired at my home, but Chad did a great job of calling me to explain beforehand what he would be doing (even calling me when he encountered some stuff through the process), then contacting me again when he was finished. The job was well done, too, and he did a good job of getting up nearly all of the slivered glass. (I realized he wouldn't be able to get every single speck, but he did a darn good job.) The only reason Safelite AutoGlass didn't get a five star rating because making the appointment (which should have been easy) became a PITA. I called the main number, and a woman took my information and said they could have someone out the next day. Because my car wasn't drivable, I asked if they could possibly do it the same day. She said she'd call the branch and get back with me. (Note, they could have gotten me in that day if I'd been able to take my car to their shop. Since the windshield was shattered, it wasn't drivable, so I needed onsite repair.) A few hours later, I hadn't heard from her, so I called the Safelite AutoGlass main number again. This time, I spoke with a guy who told me my windshield wasn't in stock and they'd have to order it, and it would take 3-5 DAYS to get the part. Seriously? Seriously. A couple of hours later, I got a call from another lady at Safelite AutoGlass, who said she noticed I'd not made an appointment, and asked me if I'd like to do so. When I explained the past conversations (and the 3-5 day waiting), she said she wasn't sure why, since they had the part and could schedule it to be fixed the next day. And, no, I didn't need to be with the car for them to fix it. She took all my information over the phone, we set the appointment, and she let me know what I needed to do to prepare (make sure my car was accessible, etc.). So, third time was the charm and she got everything set up. And Chad arrived the next day and replaced my windshield. (Thanks, Chad!) As a side note, the fee they quoted me over the phone was the same amount that Chad told me when he called to confirm my appointment, and the same amount as what I was charged in the end, so no surprises. Chad did recommend replacing my wiper blades (and told me why--in case there was glass in the rubber that he couldn't see or feel, but might scratch my new windshield--which made complete sense), but there wasn't any high pressure sell. read more

I had a door window replaced recently and after getting the car back I noticed a large scratch on the outside of the door, and that the door would not open from the inside. The window glass itself is wavy and the coloring is different from the rest of the glass on the vehicle. Very poor workmanship and product quality. read more

The windshield on my car was damaged so I called my insurance company to see how they wanted to handle it. My deductible was such that I was on my own for paying, and Safelite was recommended. I called them for an estimate, and they joked with me and said they would give me my insurance company's discount. They asked if I wanted to pay $23 extra to have my windshield wipers replaced, and I declined. I also asked for onsite service rather than driving to one of their garages. $308 was quoted. You can only imagine my surprise when a follow-up email confirmed a price of $394, which included $30 for mobile service which I was never told about, $10 disposal fee, also not told about, and $23 for wipers which I did not want. I wound up contacting a company recommended by the local Ford dealer, who quoted me an all-inclusive price of $210 + tax, with the same guarantee as Safelite. You would think that a national company could offer a better price than a mom and pop. BEWARE! read more

My 75-year old mother had a crack in her windshield. I went online to schedule an appointment for the following week to get the windshield replaced at the local Safelite shop. My mother drove her vehicle to the shop, waited, then was told that the wrong windshield was ordered. Another appointment was scheduled for days later for the Safelite technician to come to her home to replace the windshield. I called to confirm that correct windshield was ordered this time. I was assured the correct windshield was ordered and the technician would get it replaced. I then received a call later on the appointment day to be told that the windshield that was ordered "had a big chuck broken out of it." I was then asked to schedule a THIRD appointment - this time for the vehicle to brought back into their shop for replacement. Thankfully the THIRD time it was replaced successfully. However, we learned an important lesson to use anyone except Safelite in the future. read more

Take your own pictures before your appointment. Everything went smoothly until after the repair, I noticed a dent 6" from the windshield near the windshield wiper. It was not an impact dent, it was from weight being applied. Although any damage found prior to the appointment is supposed to be brought to my attention, no one said anything as I waited in the waiting room. According to the manager; based on years of this type of damage "never happening" and the word of the technician, I brought a damaged vehicle to my appointment. Photos were taken by the shop after the damage and were claimed to have been prior to the work being done. While in the office, I was told only three pictures were available. Over the phone, I was told there were nine. No timestamps or other basic questions about the photos could be answered. I have a Jeep Wrangler and expect to replace my windshield each year, I will not return to this shop. read more
