These are rescue horses--many of them coming from difficult or neglectful situations--and C Ponies has created something really beautiful by giving them a second chance at life. You can feel how deeply loved and well cared for these horses are. They are healthy, happy, and genuinely seem to enjoy their work. One of the most fascinating parts was learning that the water is actually healing for them. Being in the ocean supports their joints and overall wellness, so this experience isn't just fun for us--it's beneficial for them, too. That alignment made the entire experience feel even more special and ethical. Our guide, Raina, was fantastic. She had the perfect mix of humor (yes, some delightfully corny jokes), warmth, and knowledge. More importantly, you could tell she truly loves these horses and what she does. She made everyone feel comfortable, safe, and engaged the entire time. Walking the horses into the water--and even getting to experience them swimming--was surreal. Each horse had its own personality, which made it even more fun. You could tell they were relaxed, confident, and happy to be there. It didn't feel forced or transactional--it felt like a partnership between humans and animals. Living in Sarasota, it also meant a lot to support a business that is doing such meaningful work in our own SW Florida community. Cooper's Bayou Park is a smaller park. I honestly spend more time walking past this park than in…read moreit. It has a small lake with a paved trail around it. The lake has a fountain that doesn't always operate. There is also a larger grass field. The lake is pretty, but the bay that is not that far up the Ream Wilson Trail is stunning. The park does have some outdoor exercise equipment and a water fountain. It does not have a restroom. If parking is available, it can be a great place to park (it's free) and explore elsewhere. If you head south a tiny bit and cross the road following the Ream Wilson Trail, you will come to a really beautiful section of Del Oro Park and the blue trail bridge that crosses McMullen Booth. If you head north, you can walk to Safety Harbor and there are many beautiful areas along the trail. Overall, it is a nice little spot. However, I would not stop my exploration at just this park when you visit.

This review is for their camp…read more It's crazy that nine years ago I went on the zip line course and here we are now and I have a seven-year-old who went to camp here. I actually had no idea they had a camp in the summer until one of my son's friends wanted to go here and asked us to join him. I'm so glad he did because it was an absolutely fantastic camp. It is fully outside, but they are mainly in the shade so I didn't worry about sunburn and also the kids never complained about it being hot. I have no idea what wizardry this is, but it was completely fine. Three days they zip line and two days they paddleboard. I was actually quite nervous because my son is small so I wasn't sure if he'd be able to zip line. I did call and ask and they said if it's a windy day that he would be tethered to a Guide. He ended up skipping zip lining for two of the days, but on the final day of zip line, he did it and he loved it. He's actually now asking for us to go back together. They also provide lunch, which is fantastic because I hate figuring out what to send for food. They provide snacks as well so all I had to do was send my son with a water bottle and on certain days with a swimsuit and towel. He had a fantastic time. You can drop off at 8:30 and pick up at 4:30, they really don't start till about 9:30 though and I totally took advantage of a later drop off. You can pay eight dollars a day to pick up at five, which is extremely reasonable. We've already been talking about going back to camp again here next year and maybe for additional weeks. He loved it.

There are workout stations along the trail, part of the "outdoor gym". Additionally, there is interesting informational signage regarding types of native wildlife found. There is a beach adjacent and there are shelters (pavilions) with grills to have picnics as well as bathrooms and water amenities. A canoe/kayak launch is available for you to use to go boating. Important consideration: Parking is via parking meter. I recommend visiting this park if you enjoy nature and its beauty. I enjoyed visiting with friends and will return.
